His 1st day was awesome, think it was the Bunsen burners that did it!

StitchingMoss · 07/09/2011 16:52

Ah, the joy of the bunsen burner Grin!

Gastonladybird · 07/09/2011 18:21

It's reminding me of all horror stories of
Getting too close when you were wearing hair gel or hair spray Wink

LaGuerta · 07/09/2011 19:28

Ooh that's just reminded me of tubs of green asda hair gel with air bubbles in them... Great that T had a good first day.

Gaston - all best wishes and love for tomorrow.

WhatWouldLeoDo · 07/09/2011 20:59

Gastonladybird · 09/09/2011 14:14

Ok now you can help me on names- following are on lengthy list and these are ones that either dh or I are doubtful about- Frances, victoria, Esther ,Mary ,Phoebe or Clara. Help me with views so can try to get list down (or will be like one of pre school mums who took 3 weeks to agree a name )

Any good weekend plans? Its rugby world cup fever here- am guessing there is some of that with mud wiggle.

Oh and leo according to radio there is outrage as eu trying to change iron bru formula as too much colour- Alex salmond appalled , any views (on irn bru not Alex salmond Wink)

LaGuerta · 09/09/2011 14:51

Frances. Like alot. Classic. nn's good too fran, frankie etc. Goes will with your French connections and Dd1s middle name. Francesca good too.
Victoria - like, goes well with dd1's name. Less keen on Vicky as nn which would put me off.
Esther two "Miss E..." in the family makes post confusing apparently. Like apart from that.
Mary - like: classic, simple
Phoebe too popular in the last 10 years
Clara - like alot, v pretty goes well with dd1's name

Gastonladybird · 09/09/2011 15:46

Thanks laguerta - that is pretty much what I think (plus there is annoying Phoebe on archers). I really like Francesca but dh less keen. Victoria am also meh about it -mainly as associated with beckham woman .

Peppa pig time here - Friday post pre school sees neither mother or daughter at their most active .

StitchingMoss · 09/09/2011 16:29

Frances - lovely, has very special meaning to me and dh Smile. Love it.
Victoria - too regal, too Beckham!
Esther - gorgeous (was on our short list) but not keen on name alliteration
Mary - too religious for me!
Phoebe - hate it, sorry Blush
Clara - love it, though Clare even better Grin

Fireman Sam here Grin!

Gastonladybird · 09/09/2011 18:08

Thanks- I can now bin phoebe off list safe that 1 dh doesn't remember what is on list 2 has been watching cricket all afternoon so beer induced amnesia likely .

What everyone to this weekend? E got swimming lesson tomorrow - has been on crash courses before but wander if novelty will wear off if has to go each week (fortunately has now graduated to go it alone status so paper read time spectating for me

LaGuerta · 09/09/2011 19:27

Just before my oven caught fire at teatime ( seriously) I wondered whether Constance might suit? My Mum has a music bag with the initials "CMD" embossed on them who was a great Aunt born around 1900 she was Constance Mary Dodd. I feel it's in the same vein as Dd1 and some of your other suggestions. Maybe not with your surname though.

Gastonladybird · 09/09/2011 19:39

How did oven catch fire (mind you we have fire blanket here due to string of incidents Blush).
Constance I think was discussed... I may sneak it back on. May a middle name option (we Are middle names we like/mean something rather than family).
Bedtime highlight was e saying mummy is like a whale ... I am not quite sure where I will be on evolutionary scale by January.

Have already asked stitching but were your second /third later than due date and what was relative labour times. Trying to plan ahead for childcare (as there is every chance that will need assisted third stage again which means longer stay).

WhatWouldLeoDo · 09/09/2011 20:06

I'm going to go against the grain and say I like Phoebe but not keen on Frances Grin Can I offer up my favourite girl's name that I could never use - Ishbel? Don't tell me if you don't like it because I love it Grin

WhatWouldLeoDo · 09/09/2011 20:06

Shock at oven LG - any injuries/perm damage?

Gastonladybird · 09/09/2011 20:08

Thanks for that- is unusual.

alex focussing on the big issues

Must go pack for w/e away - will pop back later.

Gastonladybird · 09/09/2011 20:11

No I like it - Its unusual as in it's not like isabella (3 in class etc) . Where you off to ?

WhatWouldLeoDo · 09/09/2011 20:15

Grin Someone in the family nabbed it as a middle name hence i could never use it if a. had another child and b. Had a girl. Great shame as i think it has all the same criteria as S's name. And yes, you'd be unlikely to come across it very often.

Off to Yorkshire for DN's birthday and then Lancashire to see friend's new baby.

LaGuerta · 09/09/2011 20:39

I reckon that if you went with Ishbel down here you would constantly have to correct people who thought you meant Isabel (and had a drink problem). I like it though. I do wish I had Scottish lineage to draw on!

Re the oven: I was grilling chicken in the normal manner saw some smoke, opened door, saw flames, shut door, put DS2 in lounge, opened door, more flames, took out dish, threw dish through backdoor Blush, flames went out and eventually flames on grill element went out too. I did wonder whether I would have to call a fire engine. Blush

Dh has just spent half an hour faffing ordering pizza. Eventually did it online. Pizza hut have a tracker that tells us it is currently being baked. It's all thrilling here.
