Just followed a recipe I found online for it using sweetener instead of sugar, and then adapted it for my instant pot, so no stirring, you just melt the butter, mix it all, bung it in the pot and hey presto!! They recommend using xylitol I think, as the one I used crystallised when I put it in the fridge, but I just warmed it up to remelt it when I wanted to use some. Maybe a liquid sweetener would work better than granules for that one?

Ooh cheesies look nice but I don’t think I can get them in Australia.

I’m hoping the sweet craving goes, it’s only after dinner at night, a piece of dark chocolate would probably be ok actually, thank you.

Is Stevia OK? if it is and cocoa is allowed too, (not drinking chocolate powder) is there any reason not to have it with full fat milk or nut milk? I put it in my frother and it feels like a pudding-y treat.

I made a nice keto dinner but now don't fancy it! (Spicy keema curry and broccolli and cauliflower)Had a bowl of cheesies and a little glass of wine so far.
My DH hoovered up the dinner. He is evangelical about keto and we call him the Keto King Smile

I make hot chocolate by melting a square of choc into a small cup of cream and milk. It’s lush! It feels so indulgent but still on plan. I haven’t checked if cocoa powder is ok, but I’m sure if it’s unsweetened it should be if dark choc is ok?

Thank you for the lemon curd recipe. I might have to give that a go at the weekend. Although I'm worried I might eat too much!
I try to avoid ket mo bakes but I do love the Mrs keto range. The brownies are just amazing and the pizza base is also lovely. I bought the bread roll dough but haven't baked that yet.

I haven’t got any books and am just trundling along using google.
I put too many kidney beans in my chilli last night and went out of Ketosis. Going to be more careful today.
Had a cheeky weigh though and have lost 2.5lbs! Thought I’d got rid of all the water weight from being on slimming world so it’s nice to know keto is doing something!

Great weight loss @Turkeydrumstick! I had gained 800gms today which has annoyed me! It’s my own fault for every day weighing. How is everyone else getting on?

I have had a bad day (probably caused by weight gain!) I really haven’t enjoyed my food at all and have had a few snacks. I did enjoy a square of chocolate though and it improved my mood! 😁

How do you know - have you been using the pee sticks? I’m tempted to get some, but then apparently if you’re drinking enough water you won’t see anything on the sticks.

I’ve been doing ok. Planning a day off at some point, as I’ve been on it for 6 weeks solid now and I think if I can have a day of eating proper crusty bread or something, then I’ll be happy to get back on it! I read something about people with thyroid issues, that you shouldn’t do keto all the time, but I don’t know if I’m just going along with that because it’s convenient for me Grin

I’m normally the same I can’t help myself with the scale! Sorry to hear you are having a bad day @justmoved123 bet the weight is just normal fluctuation or your body getting used to the change.
Yeah I’m ashamed to say I have gotten too into this and have pee sticks! My OH thinks I’ve lost the plot. I’ve found if I’m really hydrated it turns pink instead of purple but there’s always a colour change.... unless I’ve gone kidney bean crazy like last night! Wow 6 weeks is impressive! Do you find it gets easier the longer you do it?

I have been eating tiny amounts of dark chocolate (90%) and it was surprisingly delicious and creamy so in a geeky way started looking at the nutritional values of different 90/85% chocolate per 100g!

Godiva 22g of carbs & 12 Sugar

Green and Blacks (85%) 24 & 14

Lindt 14 & 7

So no wonder the Godiva one was delicious (this is the one I have and it's so creamy), so the Lindt is probably the one to go for as it's much lower. So not all dark chocolate is the same.

@Turkeydrumstick I would be interested in understanding how you know if you are in ketosis or not? What are the pee sticks?

@JustMoved123 I do try to weigh everyday, as I find it keeps me on track. If I have a big gap of not weighing , I assume I have put on weight and then lose motivation to eat well. If I weigh weekly and then see that I haven't lost, again it makes me want to give up! Obviously this is not the recommended way of doing things, but it makes me less scared of the scales, and I weigh in the evening to get my heaviest weight.

Turkey be careful with the pee sticks as they only show the ketones wasted in the urine so they don't really tell you whether you're in ketosis. For example, if you're dehydrated they will show very dark just because you're losing ketones in your wee and not adding water to it. The only thing that accurately monitors ketosis is by blood. Or you just look for symptoms to establish if you're in ketosis or not. I personally think they are a waste of money!

@justgoingforanap they’re little strips that change colour dependent on if your in Ketosis or not, when you wee on them. If you put keto strips into amazon i think you get 100 or so for £7. It’s made me slightly obsessed haha. That’s so handy to know about the chocolate! I love dark chocolate!

I deserve some weight loss this Sunday,!

Today is my 3rd wednesday 36 hour fast. The last 3 weeks ive lost no weight! Not.a.gram.

But i havent put back on the 8lbs i lost in the first 2 weeks.

Trying to be patient 😫
Not hungry on this fast though.

I dont want to end up having to fast every second day to maintain a weight that still gives me a bmi of 26 .5!! 😫

So holding off on more fasts for now.

@wildthingsinthenight I hope you’re feeling better, when you’re poorly you need comfort so I don’t blame you at all, you can get back on it when you have the energy.

@KetoWinnie how many calories are you eating weekly, So tough you’re weight isn’t coming off when you’re eating so little and in ketosis - can your body hang onto weight If it thinks it’s starving?

I’m not sure about the sticks, if they say I’m not in ketosis then I’ll stressed!

I made the bread yesterday, it’s not bad!

Winnie, I think that happens to most of us! I was stuck at the same weight for 3 weeks too, but it’s finally got moving again!

Someone posted a graphic on the bootcamp thread which shows how it works that way for a lot of people.

That sounds delicious! I got some chicken legs from the cooked chicken bit of Tesco’s. I’ve not tried pork scratching before going to give them a try! Tried beef jerky just then- definitely definitely not a fan!
