Hi

Just wondering if anyone is doing or has done exante and how much they lost in their first week and how much I should expect to lose after that?

I am currently at my highest weight ever of 14st 7 and was shocked when I stepped on the scale yesterday.. I never usually go over 13st 11 even if I am totally eating what I want.

I have done slimming world before and lost a stone but now have put All back on plus more!

I decided to take the plunge and start exante today as I am going away in March and I absolutely cannot go like this.

I bought the 4 week plan and today had cookies and cream shake for Breakfast- I found this awful and too creamy and made me feel sick. Shepherds pie for lunch- better than the shake but not great. Double chocolate bar around 5 pm I really liked this. And a 200 cal meal from the approved list for dinner.

I know it’s day one and probably Expected but I feel very weak, tired and can’t really concentrate on anything I’ve been drinking shit loads of water but my mouth is bloody dry not to mention I have FOUL wind !!.

Slimming world is quite easy for me to follow but it’s a slow loss and I won’t see the results I want before my holiday. I don’t want to lose more than 3 stone as I would like to keep my curves. I would like to lose 2 of these before I go away on 19th March.. is this possible ?

I have a few birthdays coming up a month so I will have a off plan day for that.

Does this get easier ? As I am struggling right now !

Yay - go Lucy.

How are you feeling?

Lucy2999 · 08/02/2020 10:23

@summersMahoosiveClipOnFringe

I’m feeling good thanks clothes that got too tight over Xmas are now fitting again and my belly definitely has gone down .. Got 6 weeks to go till my holiday and really want to lose another stone by then. I haven’t had a cheat day once and I don’t even really want too.. as I’m worried it will set me back.

Have you weighed in yet ?

Hi Lucy
No - I don't weigh myself but go by the fit of my clothes. I know I drop a clothes size every time I lose a stone as I carry my weight around my middle.

6 weeks for a stone is very do-able. You will probably find that it will be closer to a 1.5 stone loss.

Staying on track with this diet is key. One day and you can really find it hard to pull back in my experience.

I think once you are over the initial 3-4 days and in ketosis you have to remind yourself to eat after a bit and it melts away. As soon as you have carbs it becomes a creep and harder to rein your appetite back.

This week I am sticking to their products and upping my fluids to at least 5 pints a day- which definitely takes the edge off. I will then possibly do the 200 cal meal thing from their list or I might decide to keep on their products for a bit.

I always start to feel encouraged when the tyre starts to go down and my clothes feel better and that spurs me on.

My ultimate goal is to feel comfortable in a swimming costume and to start going swimming again. I am at least 2 months off that point but the good thing about this diet is that although it is hardcore the time wizzes by :)

Are you going to teat yourself to some new clothes?

Lucy2999 · 08/02/2020 11:51

@SummersMahoosiveClipOnFringe yeah some people decide to not weight themselves I used to be a daily weigher 🙈 but I have managed to just do it every week now. How long have you been doing it ?

I would be more than happy with a stone.5 before I go away .. only thing is I am having one night off at the end of the month for my friends birthday so I hope this won’t effect it too much.

Have you drank alcohol at all on the diet ? My friends done it and she did have 1/2 drinks but I’ve read getting drunk in Ketosis is dangerous ? But I’ve also seen conflicting articles on this. It’s my other friends bday tonight she is having a gathering I’ve decided to stick to the diet but have 1 or 2 gin and slimline tonics I won’t go over this amount and l wont be drinking any high carb drinks like wine etc .. they are all ordering pizza etc 😩

Last few day’s I’ve been finding it strangely quite difficult and I am missing food.. I don’t think I’ve been drinking enough water.

I do have the 200 cal meal in the evening from their list and I couldn’t do this diet if I didn’t. Do you not have that at all at the moment? So you have 4 of their products a day ?

I would also like to feel comfortable in swimwear but don’t think that’s fully possible before I go away but should feel a little bit better.

Well I put on a shocking stone over Xmas which took me to a weight I’d never been before so now my clothes pre Xmas just fit me again.. so I don’t need anything new just yet but definitely will treat myself when I’ve lost a bit more

How’s everyone doing? Week 5 weigh in for me and I lost 2lbs bit disappointed but I’m on my period so I’m putting it down to that.

I’m wondering if anyone knows about konjac noodles and what brands we are allowed? .. it just says 200g in the booklet along side the approved veg and protein for the 200 cal meal.

I don’t have them everyday but have them a few times now .. started off with the bare naked brand from Sainsbury’s.. 15 cals and no carbs.. however couldn’t get to Sainsbury’s so went Asda and got the slim konjac noodles.. noticed they have a carb content and 35 calories now I’m panicking ..

The book doesn’t specify the brand so does it matter what brand we get as long as it’s just 200g?

Still going strong!!! No idea re noodles. I have had a bit of chicken to break it up a bit. Bet next week you get a whoosh x

Lucy2999 · 20/02/2020 21:23

@SummersMahoosiveClipOnFringe I can’t find about the noodles anywhere I’ve looked on loads of forums! Also how do you buy your products ? I started off with the 4 week box for £70 as I didn’t know what I liked and didn’t.. was quite disappointed with my second box as it seemed to have loads of shakes and hardly anything else.

Now I know what I like and don’t I want to order my own stuff but it works out £101 with the feb 30 percent discount for 4 weeks worth of products. As I want 1 shake 1 bar and 1 hot meal a day. I know it’s a lot cheaper to just do shakes but I really don’t find them substantial enough.. don’t know what to do for my next order as I have about a week left in this box

Hi Lucy
I've just found this thread three months later. I've just started Exanthe and I'm due for my first week weigh in tomorrow. I weighed myself today and I've lost 4lbs so far. A bit disappointing, but better than Slimming World where I am just up and down a pound every week. I'm having a shake for breakfast and a shake or soup for lunch and a 200 cal meal in the evening. I've tried just doing 3 shakes or soups but can't stick it out, so that small meal helps me stick with it. I have been having a Mullerlight yoghurt (99 cals) after my lunchtime soup as I do need something sweet, but I'm not sure how much damage that is doing? I see yoghurt isn't on the approved list of food! My calorie intake per day is 700-800. How much weight did you lose in the end and how long did you stay on the diet. I guess you didn't get your holiday with the lockdown starting. It looks odd reading all those posts. We just didn't know what was going to hit us a few weeks later. I'm interested to see how everyone on the thread did.

foreverblessedbee · 11/07/2020 11:44

Hi - wondered if anyone on this thread was still going and how you are all doing?
I'm about to start my first day of Exante today. Looking for anyone to chat with/encourage/support and hopefully celebrate with!! On the other hand, depending how it goes it, might be to commiserate with!! Nut let's look on the bright side lol I've not had my first shake yet. Been explaining to my children what it is and why Mummy wont be earing real food till approx end of SeptemberConfused!!

foreverblessedbee · 11/07/2020 12:29

Bump?

moomin11 · 13/07/2020 20:13

I'm about to start tomorrow, I have done it before and the first few days were hard so I am bracing myself!

foreverblessedbee · 13/07/2020 20:40

How are you getting on moomin? I'm on day 3 today, 3 shakes a day. Still got to have my last one I cant quite face it yet lol. Was trying to eat just in the 12 -8pm window to fit a 16 hour fast period inbetween aswell. How much did you lose last time if you dont mind me asking? X

moomin11 · 14/07/2020 00:16

I lost a stone in 2 weeks last time, it was a bit hard-core and I'm not sure how sustainable it is but I'm going to give it another go to give me a kick start and then might use it to do 5:2 or similar. How are you feeling 3 days in? I think you're meant to have 4 shakes a day or 3 plus 200 can food, just make sure you're having enough Smile

foreverblessedbee · 14/07/2020 10:13

Wow a stone in 2 weeks!!!
That's sh-amazing!! I was hoping for a stone a month... then I could get the 3 stone off in the 12 weeks. I will go and have another look at the website, I was sure it was 3 shakes a day. I will have another look. I'm feeling ok wondering if I'm getting into ketosis yet as I've felt ok so far. Apart from slightly irritated when I'm serving dinner to my dh and boysGrin

moomin11 · 15/07/2020 17:51

Are you planning on doing the 3 shakes for 12 weeks? Its is definitely 3 products plus 200 cals off their ideas list or a 4th product to make up 800 cals. Otherwise you're only consuming 600 per day.

foreverblessedbee · 15/07/2020 21:47

Hey moomin👋 yea I was planning to do the 3 shakes a day for 12 weeks and see what weight loss I can achieve in that time. I've got to say that apart from it being a bit boring, I'm really full on the shakes and not been craving anything else. When I've fancied something savoury/salty I've had a cup of vegetable stock which has tasted heavenly lol. I've also started taking a multivitamin just in case and added 2 g of psyllium husk powder once a day for fibre. Weigh in day for saturday morning and that will be week one DONEGrin

foreverblessedbee · 15/07/2020 21:47

Only another 11 to go lol

moomin11 · 17/07/2020 19:40

Good luck for your weigh in!

foreverblessedbee · 17/07/2020 22:51

Thanks moomin - I'm nervous fornthebweugh in but I must have shifted something in this week because I've literally done it to he letter! I've reduced my tea drinking ( and therefore milk drinking) down to 1 cuppa a day -my morning cup lol- cant manage without that. And had 1 or 2 cups of vegetable stock a day just to help with the savoury cravings. Nothing else had passed my lips which is (for me and my recent diet) quite bloody marvelous! I'd love to know how all the others are doing who started this thread. Are you there guys?Grin How are you getting on Moomin, how many days have you done now? X

foreverblessedbee · 18/07/2020 18:20

Weighed self his morning- 7 pound off!!! I'm v pleased to say the leastGrin
Hows everyone else doing in their Exante (/ or otherwise) journey?

moomin11 · 21/07/2020 13:45

Well done thats great! I've been on it for 1 week now and lost 8lbs so really pleased with that Smile

foreverblessedbee · 22/07/2020 00:03

Well done moomin!!!!! 8 pounds! Fantastic startGrin how are you finding it? I've got to say it's ok so far. Not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I feel quite optimistic at being able to stick with it for quite some time to come.

moomin11 · 22/07/2020 18:04

Thank you! Better than last time as I am having a small meal a day too, something to look forward to Smile I am on holiday end of next week so planning on doing it till then. It definitely sounds like you're in the zone which is half the battle! I have surprised myself with my willpower, even when a friend offered me chocolate yesterday lol

moomin11 · 22/07/2020 18:05

I have asked to join the Facebook group, are you on there? No idea if it's any good.
