Hi

Just wondering if anyone is doing or has done exante and how much they lost in their first week and how much I should expect to lose after that?

I am currently at my highest weight ever of 14st 7 and was shocked when I stepped on the scale yesterday.. I never usually go over 13st 11 even if I am totally eating what I want.

I have done slimming world before and lost a stone but now have put All back on plus more!

I decided to take the plunge and start exante today as I am going away in March and I absolutely cannot go like this.

I bought the 4 week plan and today had cookies and cream shake for Breakfast- I found this awful and too creamy and made me feel sick. Shepherds pie for lunch- better than the shake but not great. Double chocolate bar around 5 pm I really liked this. And a 200 cal meal from the approved list for dinner.

I know it’s day one and probably Expected but I feel very weak, tired and can’t really concentrate on anything I’ve been drinking shit loads of water but my mouth is bloody dry not to mention I have FOUL wind !!.

Slimming world is quite easy for me to follow but it’s a slow loss and I won’t see the results I want before my holiday. I don’t want to lose more than 3 stone as I would like to keep my curves. I would like to lose 2 of these before I go away on 19th March.. is this possible ?

I have a few birthdays coming up a month so I will have a off plan day for that.

Does this get easier ? As I am struggling right now !

@straighthairdontcare @catmadcaz total loss this week is 6lb I’m quite disappointed with that especially as this was a 8 day weigh in not a 7. I had a quick look on Monday and I haven’t lost any weight since then where as last week it seemed to be 1lb a day roughly. Really wanted to be out of the 14 stones by week 2 but I’m 14.1 😟.

I am sooo bloated since Monday I wasn’t bloated last week.. does this happen to anyone else ?

Maybe you need to drink even more? I always underestimate how much I need or should have. 6lb is amazing for a week though - nearly half a stone!!

@Lucy2999 Well done 6lbs almost half a stone!! Don't be disappointed you have done really well.
Do you think the bloating may be connected to the diet coke? What are you having for your 200cal meal? Maybe its to do with that. I am still not having the extra meal but just knowing I can makes it more bearable for me. I boiled two eggs yesterday but when it came to it I decided I didn't really need them. So if the hunger strikes I can always have them.
One thing though I am having tea with a drop of milk but haven't tried coke yet,

My keto urine testing strips haven't arrived yet so hope they arrive in tomorrows post. As I think I am in ketosis as am feeling pretty good today and not very hungry.
I am similar starting weight to you so hopefully we will get through this.

I'm ok today. Had the dreaded headache which is normally a Keto sign I think. Keto sticks arrived today an not in Ketosis yet - I think I eat too much protein. Haven't been hungry though today nearly didn't bother with tea but was worried it would turn into a food fest later.

Strange one though - I'm asthmatic and my breathing has been bad for a while, using blue inhaler more than I should. However my breathing yesterday and today is fab - no need for blue inhaler and no wheezing. Not sure if it is connected or if it is just a bug that's cleared up eventually but I feel better for it!

Ooh can I join you ladies!?
Started back on Exante yesterday. I lost a couple of stones in it a few years ago but have had a crappy year and put some of it back on. I only want to lose a stone so I’m not expecting big losses - 6lb is an amazing loss btw!!

I’m doing 3 shakes as the meals are RANK and then a ‘meal’. I usually have fancy cured meat, chicken breast, mozerella and olives - stuff I can pick at. All v low carb. Good luck all xx

@straighthairdontcare My keto sticks have just arrived haven't used them yet.I think when I did lighter life the best time to use them is first thing in the morning as we are drinking so much water it dilutes the wee.

Feel like I am in ketosis as no hunger today and headache first pack at 12.30 cinnamon and apple porridge wasn't keen on that flavour.
I woke yesterday feeling very alert and active, and it has carried on today good sign of ketosis for me.

Am back to work tomorrow doing a very long shift 6.45am-20.00hrs think I will take 4 packs in case my usual 3 isn't enough as my work is quite physical. I must say I feel very well this type of diet really seems to agree with me. My problem is when I have to plan and think about meals all the time I fail and just eat the wrong things. So packs which are calorie counted are perfect for me.
@emma6776 welcome. I ordered shakes, bars, pancakes and porridge as cant take the soups or meal packs. The pancakes are really nice but the porridge is far too sweet but hey its edible, and its working!

@catmadcaz still not showing ketosis but def feel less hungry and still have headache. Keto flu kaybe? Or maybe it's just withdrawal from the massive amounts of carbs and sugar I have lived on recently 🤣

I don't mind some of the meals, but some do have a strange flavour. I like most of the shakes but I tend to avoid the fruity ones. I haven't tried pancakes yet and I'm interested to try the pizza and fajitas also. They only seem to be in multipacks though. Have treated myself to a Coke Zero today too! Ok the levels of excitement in my life!!

@straighthairdontcare I think I am drinking enough I'm trying to do 4 litres a day but I can only manage 3 tbh which is a massive amount compared to my usual 0 lol how much do you have ? . The bloating and wind seems to happen at night after my meal which is Usually broccoli and chicken but in the morning last week I was waking up feeling like I’d lost weight now I’m
Just bloated 24 7 even if I do go to the toliet.

I have only lost 1/2 lb since Monday and that is really demotivating me.. I’m thinking to hide my scales and weigh in every 2 weeks not 1. When is your first weigh in ?

@catmadcaz my eve meal is usually chicken 100 grams and broccoli and green beans or asparagus after this I get crazy bloat and wind.. I may have to change it but I don’t know what too. I only drink one Coke Zero a day and sometimes don’t even have it so bloating defo not that.

You don’t have to just have a drop of milk we are allowed I think it’s 100ml a day semi skimmed so depending on how much tea you have you can have milk.

When is your first weigh in ? I’m not feeling very confident for my 2nd week weigh in and I think I’m not going to weigh for two weeks

@Lucy2999 - no idea how much water I have be fair - far too much coffee though! Not sure about the bloating - could you have 4 packs one day instead of the meal and see if it makes a difference? I'm weighing in on Monday I think as that will be a week. I feel better though, but I always do when I have the will power to ditch real carbs. Sorry you are feeling demotivated - there is talk of a 'whoosh' effect where the weight disappears all of a sudden so maybe it's that? You might wake up tomorrow and lost 2lbs overnight! Do you measure ? I can't be bothered with it but I know some people say that their measurements change even if their weight doesn't. I can never find my tape measure....

How you doing today @catmadcaz ? Did the 4 packs sustain you?

@straighthairdontcare last weekend I had 4 packs Cos I couldn’t be bothered to cook and that’s actually when the bloat started and constipation 🙈🙈. It’s only after eating the veg in the meals that it’s eased off a bit.

I’ve read on another forum someone recommends putting powdered fibre into the shakes.. it’s tasteless and doesn’t effect Ketosis. I am going to get that hopefully tmrow from Holland and Barrett and try it.. it does warn only a teaspoon or you won’t be leaving the bathroom lol. It’s good you feel better I have never ditched carbs for this long in my life... I will say the insomnia only lasted two nights and I am now sleeping so much better I don’t really wake up in the night at all. What is the woosh effect? I don’t measure but my friend has advised I should.. Think I’ll get A tape measure this weekend.

Whoosh affect is where the weight 'whooshes' away like water! Jus disappears overnight.Apparently it is fairly common on low/carb keto diets, your bodies way of trying to protect itself against famine maybe?

Fibre sound like a good idea! I might do the same.

Hey everyone 👋🏼 DH & I on Day 3 of Exante. He’s already down 2kg and me ZERO (obviously). Can I join in?

Planning on doing this for 4 weeks at least & have 20lb to lose until I’m a healthy BMI.

I took my measurements as well in case the scale decides not to be my friend (like right now 😩)

DH’s extra 400 calories is killing me!

I don’t know what I’d do I wouldn’t want to eat food .. I’d probably go boots/ Superdrug and buy slim fast Shakes or something.

Think I'll just eat 800 cal of allowed foods for today and tomorrow. Don't fancy the Tesco ones - I like the nice flavours in the exante but for some reason fake strawberry makes me feel ill. Like the medicine you used to get as a kid Smile

Weighed myself today and 7lb off in just a week am really pleased with that. Now must just stay motivated and keep doing it as it works.

Nearly at the end of the weekend unscathed but it feels like a lifetime until Wednesday weigh in.

Both DH & I have been short tempered and tired but today (Day 5) I’ve felt much better and less hungry.

Hope everyone else is getting on ok Smile
