Hi all,

I'm going to start Keto again tomorrow. Tried for the first time a few weeks ago but felt dreadful after a week so I fell off the wagon - combo of Keto flu and period I think.

Anyone else venturing into Keto and fancy some support?

Hello, can I join in as well?

I keep trying to go Keto but am struggling to get through the keto flu and keep giving up. Did it successfully up to xmas and loved it, but had a xmas break and cant get back on it again.

I've got some mineral salts to take to help with the keto flu but I really hate drinking salty water!

Trying again from tomorrow.

Zombiefly, it puts me to bed, it's awful. I find the electrolyte salts do help but I'm bad a taking them. Although last time when I did get through it I felt great. I'm wishing I hadn't taken a break at xmas!

I've cracked. I need eggs and cheese as vegan Keto alone is awful!

I just had cheesy eggs for dinner. Am feeling happy and satiated...

Still getting my head around macros. I'm going to download that carb app now.

Hi everyone. I’ve been doing keto for the past 4 weeks. I’ve lost about 6 lbs which is amazing for me because I tend not to lose much at all ever and I do have it to lose. Slimming world, ww I will just consistently stay the same even when on plan so to lose is brilliant. Only thing is I have the urine testing strips and I’m not at all in ketosis? Any ideas? Every day I am under 20g carbs. Have plenty of fats and some proteins. Thank you

Can I join? I'm currently a week in today and have weighed myself today and have lost 10lbs! Did struggle on days 3 and 4 but pushed thru and feel so much better with eating habits. Have invested in a treadmill so I can eventually brave the gym lol how's everyone else getting on ?

Hi all, back again. Fell off the wagon almost straight away afternoon our beautiful ddog had to be pts. I’ve been miserable and doing the usual comfort eating. Had a terrible day yesterday mental health wise but I’m back today. I’m ready and I’m f**king doing this Keto no matter what!

Breakfast was eggs and bacon. Had originally decided on avocado and feta mash baked in large mushrooms until I discovered the avocados had black spots in the flesh. Assume that means they’re gone off?

Busy MNing and YouTube’ing keto meal prep.

How’s everyone getting on?

I was trying to stick to weighing myself weekly but the scales were looking at me today so had to see.
Have lost another 2lbs already and still sticking to it .
Trouble I've got is I'm suppose to be going out for a few meals... now I just need to not crack and order anything that will undo all the hard work.

Today is my first day proper keto, I've eased myself in with being paleo for three months and cutting down on carbs and sugar gradually. I hope this helps me to avoid the dreaded keto flu!

Today I've had a small amount of nuts, scrambled egg and smoked salmon, and a smoothie made with spinach, berries and coconut milk. I think we're having gammon for tea with some stir fried vegetables.

I’m aftaid I’m out and going back to SW. I can’t figure out the macros, the level of fat is worrying me (but I have health anxiety after a stroke) and I’m sick to death of cheese! 😬

Oh and I miss bread but I found this on YouTube today and thought some of you might be interested. It looks yummy. Best of luck to you all Smile

I don't work out macros or anything. I just eat food that's fat and protein or very low carb, like berries and above ground veg. You don't need to be that exact about it ime.

I am starting Diet Doctor two week challenge today! it's free and they spell out the first two weeks of menus, inc shopping lists. That way you don't need to do any tracking (if you follow their menus - which i must say look delicious!)

I'm hoping that will get me on the right track to stop snacking - and after that I might pay to sign up and/or learn a bit more about how it works

I'm also finding some keto podcasts helpful - if anyone can recommend a good one? (i.e. not super-american!)

Fell off the wagon Saturday and had a chip butty 🙈.
Back on it now and having weighed in today I'm 16lb down so I'm chuffed with that tho I wonder if Saturday had much of an affect.

I fell off the wagon a couple of weeks ago and gained everything I lost! I'm recommitting from today, and going to throw myself at it as my weight is getting me down. No cheats. No excuses. I'm 9st1 today, and would like to hit 8st6. I have a party in 2 weeks time so I'd like to be 8st10 by then. Have reset my carb manager app and feeling motivated! Got a session in the climbing gym this morning. Onward and upward!

I'm getting quite discouraged. DH is losing loads on keto, it's falling off him almost daily, but for me it's really slow. I've lost .2 kilos in the last two weeks. I have a couple of stones to lose. I fast for at least 12 hours overnight, I'm in ketosis, I only eat two meals which are just meat/fish/eggs/compliant veg/fat; I don't know what more I can do. Sad

Be patient and stick with it christinebaskets. It can be harder for women to lose with the effect of hormones etc. But you are losing! I'm sure you'll have a whoosh effect at some point too. Also, do you measure? Do your clothes fit better? Often the number on the scale isn't reflective of our changing body shape. Keto on!

Had a tuna avocado mayo salad for lunch, celery and peanut butter and alpro unsweetened almond milk and peanut butter smoothie yesterday, hard workout and plenty of water. No loss on the scales yet. I want to be thin NOW 😂

Thank you frenchonion - I remembered I did measure myself last year on mfp, I measured again and I have lost 2 inches from my waist and hips so that has cheered me somewhat. I also tried on a jumper that dh bought me for Christmas that was much too small and it now fits! Grin

I have lost 17lb altogether this year, first I was doing paleo, then for the last 2 and a half weeks I have been strict keto paleo and have lost 5lbs. So I suppose that is progress. I think because dh is losing several pounds a week on keto I feel my weight loss is comparatively pathetic. But he has far more weight to lose than me.

I will keep ketoing on Grin

Hi, I’m restarting keto today. Lost 2 stone last year, then regained it through stupidity after the summer! Hoping that joining a chat like this will motivate me to stick to it.

SW is 13stone
TW is 10stone

Had bulletproof coffee for breakfast and a protein powder isolate/almond milk shake. Then Bresaola/rocket salad with Parmesan, lemon juice and olive oil for lunch. Planning grilled chicken with kale fried with pancetta for dinner.

Today I've had breakfast of sausage (Aldi outdoor bred), mushrooms, tinned tomatoes and scrambled egg. I've snacked on Montezuma 100% chocolate and cherry tomatoes. Just eaten my tea, which was home made chilli con carne (no beans) with cauliflower rice and a big blob of mayonnaise. Yum!
