I lost all my excess weight two years LCHFing. It's crept back on over the past year as ive reaching for the frackers, been, eating the kids chips etc. Carb creep and not tracking...means I'm 15lbs over where I like to be ☹️

So, I need to reboot.

I've started tracking today. My aim is to have less than thirty grams carbs a day...

I am armed with double cream, babybel and dark chocolate.

Anyone want to join me?

Day 20 ✅ 32g carbs

It's so weird the scales aren't moving but I'm feeling so much better. Clothes are looser. Wishing I had measured myself.

16g of my carbs are dark chocolate. If only I could give it up ....

My dfriend lives in Australia and has just asked me to help planning her wedding in the uk next year. I'm so excited and I cannot be the day bridesmaid.

BangingOn · 19/04/2018 21:47

I’m keeping on keeping on, shake for breakfast, chicken and rocket salad for lunch and saag paneer for dinner. I’ve made some Keto cookie dough bites too so will have one of those shortly.

Hi
Can I join?
I lost 20lbs 5 years ago LC ing
Sadly the weight loss gave me gallstones and potassium deficiency which led to heart issues!
I've had my gallbladder out and I've bought potassium supplements so I'm ready to try again...
My reflux is really bad again...in fact I'm having to have a camera down again :( so losing weight is important
I'm as heavy as I was 5 years ago :(
Today is the day...
Wish me luck!

Shiraznowplease · 20/04/2018 07:29

Following with interest, I started two days ago after having a tia last week which was a real wake up call to how overweight I had become

mrsreynolds · 20/04/2018 11:10

Blimey
I'm 12stone :(
I've taken my measurements as I know I may see improvement there first...
Eek

Welcome to Shiraz and Mrs Reynolds!

Today I've had eggs and bacon and a prawn salad. Got steak and salad for dinner too. Snacks have been three dairylea triangles. My mind is dreaming of wine though 😅

How's everyone else doing?

mrsreynolds · 20/04/2018 16:12

I'm soooooo hot!

Feel ok
Sugar withdrawal will begin soon though..ugh

OnceIThoughtISawYou · 20/04/2018 17:41

Hello all. Can I join you please?

In just over a year (damn menopause) I have gone from a size 10-12 top to a size 18, despite my bum/legs staying the same Hmm No change in diet or activity.

About 20 years ago I lost the same amount of weight following what I now realise was a lo-carb diet that I cut out of Cosmo magazine.

So, here I am again. Pasta and sugar in tea and coffee are my downfall but I shall give it a go.

I need to refresh my memory on what we can/can't eat, but had a tin of mackerel with some feta cheese, avocado and olives for lunch. Fish and artichokes tonight.

50andgoingstrong · 20/04/2018 17:51

Welcome MrsReynolds shiraz and once🙂

Today's a good day to start. You'll drink loads of water when it's hot.

Basically you can eat, meat, fish, eggs, cream, butter, leafy green veg, salads, mayo, a few nuts, tea, coffee.

Lots of suggestions and recipes on low carb boot camp thread.

Avoid sugar, pasta, rice, potatoes and processed food.

Drink lots of water!

Well
I ruined yesterday by having an ice lolly...28g of carbs!??
I was doing pretty well up to then...
I'm also aiming for 30g or less a day and am following the John briffa plan
Hoping today will be better!

50andgoingstrong · 21/04/2018 11:56

Never mind. Today's a new day.

I forgot how much sugar is in ice lollies. I think I'll make my own with sugar free squash.

Weighed myself this morning another 1lb gone 🙂

Ok today
Well...lots of snacking as I've been really busy...but all low carb...drank lots of water...

NameChanger22 · 21/04/2018 18:49

I've been low-carbing for 3 weeks now. I haven't lost much weight on this diet when I've done it in the past, but I find it the easiest diet to stick too. I'm giving it another go, because at least it stops me from eating lots of crisps and cakes. I'm vegetarian so it is probably a bit trickier for me than a meat eater.

Today I went to a vegan festival and watched a cooking demonstration. They made vegan fish fingers from tofu cut into fingers and marinated in soya sauce, wrapped in nori seaweed, dipped in batter (I used almond flour, cream and water) and deep fried. I made them for dinner with a green salad and mayonnaise. Delicious.

Does anyone know how many carbs are in balsamic vinegar? I love it and only use a tiny bit.

50andgoingstrong · 21/04/2018 18:59

Well done mrsreynolds. You'll do less snacking once you get into it. It's one of the benefits of this way of eating, no hunger between meals.

Balsamic vinegar has 3g per tablespoon namechanger Vegan food fest sounds inspiring. Must be harder to low carb being a veggie.

I'm eating lots of fish just now. Made a lovely smoked mackerel pate today, just mash up and add full fat cream cheese.

Day 23 ✅ 35g carbs.

NameChanger22 · 21/04/2018 19:06

It must be very hard to low-carb as vegan and must involve lots and lots of tofu. As a veggie there are quite a lot of things that can be made out of all the cheeses, eggs, paneer, tofu, quorn and soya. I've been eating lots and lots of eggs.

Balsamic isn't that bad - yeah. I love it with red onion and cheese.

Shiraznowplease · 21/04/2018 20:12

On day 4,haven’t lost anything but feeling much better. Thanks for the welcome. @50andgoingstrong that mackeral pate sounds lovely, what did you serve it with?
@namechanger I have been using sherry vinegar which i think is 0.1g per 15ml and is lovely

mrsreynolds · 21/04/2018 20:14

Weighing: once a week?

50andgoingstrong · 21/04/2018 20:25

Shiraz. Had it with slices of celery and yellow pepper. Was lovely.

I weigh once a week. Some people weigh more frequently. You could also go by measurement. I know I've lost by my clothes but the scales are slow to move!
