Back on low carb, anyone want to join me?

I lost all my excess weight two years LCHFing. It's crept back on over the past year as ive reaching for the frackers, been, eating the kids chips etc. Carb creep and not tracking...means I'm 15lbs over where I like to be ☹️

So, I need to reboot.

I've started tracking today. My aim is to have less than thirty grams carbs a day...

I am armed with double cream, babybel and dark chocolate.

Anyone want to join me?

50 six miles is brilliant!

I’ve weight myself every day, not because I expect a loss every day but to understand how much my weight fluctuates. My day on day weight can vary up to 4lbs due to water (and- tmi alert- whether I’ve been to the toilet or not), not to mention the huge difference time of day makes. I’ve often thought that if I was weighing myself weekly and weighed myself after one of those random gains, that often falls off again the next day, I could think I wasn’t losing weight when I was.

Does that make any sense outside of my own head?

Butterfly1975 · 13/04/2018 19:06

I weigh myself every day too. I find it keeps me motivated!

So far I've lost 2 lb - happy with that as I'm aiming to lose half a stone in total (and keep it off!)

I'm sure you will see a loss next week 50 Smile

50andgoingstrong · 13/04/2018 19:37

That does make sense Banging

I'm away this weekend so I'm getting back on the scales on Monday.

Is this your third week 50?
I often have a couple of good weeks then nothing.. it might be an idea to start measuring yourself, sometimes you don't seem to lose anything weight wise but have lost inches.

Destinysdaughter · 13/04/2018 20:15

50andgoingstrong one thing we were advised to do on the Bootcamp thread is to take measurements before we started the diet as they can be more accurate than the scales. I've lost 4 inches off my tum! 😀

Destinysdaughter · 13/04/2018 20:16

X post! 😀

Threeminis · 13/04/2018 21:15

Great minds Destiny

BangingOn · 13/04/2018 21:31

My menu today:

  • Golden syrup protein shake made with cream and water
  • Chorizo salad
  • Tuna steaks with lemongrass and ginger on white sprouting broccoli, asparagus and mushrooms cooked with garlic and chilli
  • Sugar free white chocolate panna cotta
AnnaT45 · 13/04/2018 22:28

Oh 50 got frustrating. Try focus on feeling slimmer! My weight fluctuates loads I find so I try not to fixate on the scales but easier said than done.

Today I've had an omelette with cheese, spinach, mushrooms, hot salsa and sour cream

Two dairy leas and some Parma ham

Steak and spinach

Out tomorrow afternoon for drinks then dinner. Must. Stay. Strong.

Amazing new discovery (for those who don’t mind sweeteners)- chocolate mint cookies using almond flour. Gorgeous, like a cross between a cookie and a brownie.

50andgoingstrong · 15/04/2018 21:46

Back from my weekend away. Did my best but it's not easy when you are staying with friends. I just ate what they gave me!

So Day 16 ✅ 66g carbs

And

Day 17 ✅ 74g carbs.

Back aiming for under 30g from tomorrow.

Come on!

Well done 50! I don't think that's too bad, and I also think it's important to enjoy yourself when you've got plans.

I've been bad. Saturday I woke up feels my awful, so cancelled going to London for drinks and dinner. Bing watched Netflix and had nachos and chocolate as felt so sorry for myself. I weighed myself yesterday and put on 1.5lbs!!! From that binge alone Blush

Anyway back on it yesterday and from now on. Not going to beat myself up over it. How was everyone else's weekend?

50andgoingstrong · 16/04/2018 16:21

New week, new start!

Day 18 ✅ 33g carbs

Steak and creamed spinach for dinner 🙂

Well done 50!

I was saintly over the weekend, we had guests and I managed to bake my favourite cake without eating any.

I’ve just had the loveliest dinner of aubergine gratin (Picard, a lovely French brand sold by Ocado that do gorgeous freezer meals) with crispy bacon. I usually split a gratin with DH and have it with low carb sausages but I didn’t want to share tonight. It comes in around 12g a pack but it’s worth it.

BangingOn · 16/04/2018 20:38

Also, I need a little moan as my body is losing weight in a very strange way. It’s dropping off my legs but nowhere else, so my jeans are too baggy on the thighs but the next size down won’t do up. I’ve not had this problem before but it’s my first time dieting since having DS so possibly it’s harder to lose weight from the middle post-kids?

getawholeyearof · 16/04/2018 20:58

I want/need to join! I have got into an unhelpful cycle where I have protein and veg/salad only monday to thursday and lose a few pounds, but then friday, sat, sunday eat what i like ie. wine, crisps, wine, ice cream, wine, pizza, wine.... and am back to original weight monday morning..... I'm weak!

I've done low carb today, but am having a hot choc at the mo. Oh dear. I have about a half stone to lose realistically, though would like to lose a stone

50andgoingstrong · 17/04/2018 11:38

Welcome getawholeyearof🙂

banging well done for resisting the cake!

Anna thanks for reassurance! There will be bumps on the road hey?

My kids decided to have my breakfast today. Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, hope they dont get used to it, weetabix is much cheaper!

Day 19✅ 28g carbs.

Discovered precooked crispy bacon slices at Aldi today. So tasty... Eating them like crisps!

BangingOn · 17/04/2018 18:01

50 I’ve been doing exactly the same today, it’s so nice to be able to eat something crunchy.

Threeminis · 17/04/2018 18:54

I'm so bad at posting......

Weigh day yesterday.
5lb down. Still have a hell of a way to go but I'm pleased.

I haven't been hungry at all today, had a fried egg for breakfast, no lunch and chicken salad at dinner.
On my second (massive) bottle of water though

BangingOn · 17/04/2018 20:44

Three that’s an amazing loss, well done!

The scales aren’t my friend at the moment as I’m bloated and hormonal so I am steering clear this week.

Threeminis · 17/04/2018 21:06

I'm not disagreeing, however it's my first week so it's not really a true loss..

50andgoingstrong · 17/04/2018 22:58

Well done mini that's fantastic!
It is a true loss because it's not going back on again 🙂👍
