I lost all my excess weight two years LCHFing. It's crept back on over the past year as ive reaching for the frackers, been, eating the kids chips etc. Carb creep and not tracking...means I'm 15lbs over where I like to be ☹️

So, I need to reboot.

I've started tracking today. My aim is to have less than thirty grams carbs a day...

I am armed with double cream, babybel and dark chocolate.

Anyone want to join me?

Back in a week off on holiday today.
I'll try and stay as low carb as possible but plan to have a few wines and some ice cream.

Wish me luck!

I'm sorry I've really been rubbish the mast week. Got an awful cough cold thing and all I wanted was toast!

But I'm back on it tomorrow! Enjoy your holidays and let's do our own mini bootcamp when you're back!

AnnaT45 · 06/06/2018 08:44

Just checking in to see if anyone is still around?

I've put on a lovely 7lbs since falling off the wagon! Back on since Monday and already 1.5 down! I think carbs are my enemy Grin

50, banging did you have nice holidays?

50andgoingstrong · 06/06/2018 20:59

Hello everyone!

Sorry to hear you've been poorly anna

So got back yesterday and I am due on so refusing to step on the scales until Monday but I enjoyed my holiday so much having lost the 10lbs felt much more body confident than I would have.

Mostly stayed fairly low carb at meals but did have some Baileys, ice creams, paprika Lays, rice with one meal and a few chips!

Back on it today. Tracking from tomorrow....

How's everyone else doing?

I'm up for a mini bootcamp!

Can I join you guys please? Just read the whole thread. I started HFLC on 7th of May and lost 8lbs in forst two weeks. Not much weight loss since then, but cloths are better looking on me these days. Would love to join this group so I can follow your lead :)

50andgoingstrong · 07/06/2018 16:45

Back on it!
Day 1✅ 38g (8g fibre)
Discovered extra thick double cream and raspberries mixed together makes an excellent snack!

Welcome linz 8lbs in 2 weeks is a great loss. Sometimes it will slow for a week or two afterwards but if you keep going you'll lose more.

I’m back and need to get back on it. I ate terribly on holiday but I loved it so refuse to beat myself up. I’ve come back full of flu so being gentle with myself for a few days and just eating what I can, then back with a vengeance!

50andgoingstrong · 08/06/2018 16:30

Sorry to hear about the flu... maybe restart on Monday banging.
Hope you had a great holiday.

Welcome Linz! 8lbs is brilliant! I'm similar though lose loads initially then stay that weight for ages then it slowly comes off. Frustrating and hard to keep motivation but glad the clothes feel better!

Welcome back 50 and banging! Pleased you had good times. Hope you feel better soon banging.

I'm trying vodka, soda and fresh lime tonight. A glass of dry white it ain't!

No I haven't 50 is it good? May try watch tonight?

I was really good at weekend but had one small slip as had some paella. But I've weighed this morning and gained two lbs 😭 think I need to weigh once a week and try not focus on scales

Sounds like you're back on it 50?

Zoti · 11/06/2018 08:33

Hello, I just joined Mumsnet. I am desperate to lose weight as I am at my heaviest 118kg and 5”11. BMI in 33 last time I checked. I go to the gym at least 4 times a week to do combat, spin and now pump. Still not losing weight because I love my carbs and despite efforts to lose weight through other means nothing works beyond a few pounds loss! I want to do low carb as I have seen so many positive reports. I have tried in the past and did not get far with WW and SW.
Please any tips about how to go about it to get success this time? Thanks in advance.

Late to the party, as usual!
I can’t keep up with the boot camp threads (just the pace really, but fantastic advice on there) so pleased to have found this one, thank you 50and going.
I have done LCHF before, lost lots, felt great, sorted out my IBS. Changed jobs, couldn’t cope with LCing stopped, regained all the weight and more! Just been told I am technically obese!
I need to do something. This is going to be difficult, husband won’t join me (will eat the meals, but will have cereals and sandwiches along side) have guest staying till September, who is a health/exercise nut (low fat, protein shakes etc) and I am vegetarian!
I need to do this for me, but it’s going to be crazy, isn’t it?

Linzdreamz · 11/06/2018 11:20

Thank you 50 and Anna. you are doing really well 50. together we can do this Anna. I have no excuses, but had a bit of sugar/carb last week as I had my sister and kids staying with me a for a week and am out of Ketosis ( on the sticks). I am feeling very sorry for myself. They all went back and I am on it from yesterday. Any idea how long does it take to get back on Ketosis? Is there anything I can do to speed up the process? I didn't have any symptoms of withdrawal last time, other than metallic smell. I am really new to this, exploring websites and Boot camp thread. my breakfast normally is 2 fried eggs and coffee with a bit of cream. Looking for lunch recipes right now on Bootcamp threads. TIA x

DaffoDeffo · 11/06/2018 14:35

can I just ask if any of you have problems with cholesterol?

I have tried low carb diets before and struggled but weirdly due to a temporary intolerance to wheat, I'm suddenly naturally low carb without trying much Grin but obviously eating a lot more fat/protein to try and keep full

I have had high cholesterol in the past which I got under control eating a low fat diet. Will doing LCHF muck that up?

Zoti · 11/06/2018 14:58

Just watched the BBC program on carbs. Wow. I am gobsmacked. Couldn't believe the amount of sugar in rice, potatoes etc. Also, just two weeks on the low carb and they had each lost a stone!
I need to find the strength to do low carb

50andgoingstrong · 11/06/2018 20:29

Welcome zoti Im and daffo.

I was worried about cholesterol but it's fine. E.g. The new science is saying eggs are really good for you.

I recommend the diet doctor TED talk. Also bootcamp threads have the rules link at the top for further reading.

linz I think it depends on the person. It does take time to become fat adapted. I never rushed to be in ketosis. In fact not sure if I am, but I'm losing weight and I'm not hungry.

If you lower your carbs to around 30g a day you will lose weight.

OP posts:
50andgoingstrong · 11/06/2018 20:31

Day 5 ✅ 40g carbs (6g fibre)

OP posts:
50andgoingstrong · 11/06/2018 20:33

Anna I haven't weighed myself since getting back from holiday. I'm giving it two weeks back on LCHF ....then I will see! (Hoping to be the same or a bit lower by then!!)
