Back on low carb, anyone want to join me?

I lost all my excess weight two years LCHFing. It's crept back on over the past year as ive reaching for the frackers, been, eating the kids chips etc. Carb creep and not tracking...means I'm 15lbs over where I like to be ☹️

So, I need to reboot.

I've started tracking today. My aim is to have less than thirty grams carbs a day...

I am armed with double cream, babybel and dark chocolate.

Anyone want to join me?

Well done Banging a whole stone gone!

I going on holiday in 4 weeks so my next goal is to lose another 7lbs by then!

I put my cheap Tesco jeans on this morning and they are falling off me! As a reward, I'm going to buy a smaller size today🙂

Agree, the weight is a bit slower coming off now that I am (as you probably guessed😉) 50!

BangingOn · 28/04/2018 16:26

You definitely deserve a small pair, that’s fantastic!

I am feeling a bit disheartened as despite doing well so far I still have another 3-4 stone to go and I’m not into all of old clothes yet, but I know I need to be more patient.

Shiraznowplease · 28/04/2018 17:20

Well done @50, smaller size jeans is a bigger win than weight (although you have done well on that front too!) and well done @mrsr after losing despite a crap week.
Been to Disney on Ice with dd (6) today and realised felt much less anxious than normal, this diet certainly has all sorts of benefits apart from weigh loss. Thanks @50 for all your posts, you are certainly keeping us all inspired

Shiraznowplease · 28/04/2018 17:22

@banging I need to lose 3-4 stone too, maybe we could be diet buddies?

Shiraznowplease · 28/04/2018 17:23

Sorry posted to soon, one stone is an amazing amount, you should feel really proud

BangingOn · 28/04/2018 17:55

Yes please Shiraz, a buddy would be great. How are you doing so far?

Shiraznowplease · 28/04/2018 18:35

On day 11 and have lost 6 pounds, just signed up to do a plus size boot camp one morning a week but have warned the trainer I am very unfit.

50andgoingstrong · 28/04/2018 19:14

Day 31 ✅ 43g carbs
Saturday night Indian .... succumbed to the lure of the samosa! Oh well!

BangingOn · 28/04/2018 19:34

Boot camp is very impressive! I will start exercising soon...

6lbs in 11 days is fab!

Shiraznowplease · 29/04/2018 09:24

Thanks @Bangingon, it’s a plus size bootcamp, they do it all in park nearby and I have seen them do it and it seems ok and the major benefit is they won’t all be skinny minnies! It is just once a week initially.
Feeling a bit disheartened tbh as first 5.5lbs came off in five days and since then only half a pound off, have stuck religiously to under 25g of carbs but not that great with water intake so planning to increase and see if it helps

Bangingon you are doing amazing, one stone is brilliant, with your clothes it may just be the weight hadn’t come off the bits you want it to yet. Someone mentioned to me about keeping pebbles in a jar with each one representing a pound, Maybe that would help you as your jar is getting pretty full! Hope you have a good day x

BangingOn · 29/04/2018 10:36

That’s a brilliant idea! I was similar to you, losing nearly 7lbs in the first week and then plodding along since then. I’m trying to think about what I haven’t gained, as well as what I’d lost, as I was eating so badly that I must have been gaining weight fairly constantly.

Good luck with the boot camp, a plus size camp definitely sounds like a more comfortable class to attend.

qumquat · 29/04/2018 16:56

Hello! I'd love to join. I did low carb for a few weeks and felt fantastic (doing it more for health than weight loss) then thoroughly fell off the wagon. Just trying to drag myself through another day 1. I follow the 'banting' lists which I find really useful and mean I don't have to monitor carbs. I've got a history of eating disorders so I need to be careful not to get too obsessed. It's great to see how well you are all doing!

50andgoingstrong · 29/04/2018 21:36

Welcome qumquat 🙂

Day 32✅ 45g carbs. Bloody Yorkshire puddings snared me this afternoon... I had 3😊

New week, new start!!

Good luck everyone👍

What's a Banting list? I'm off to google.....

OP posts:
Shiraznowplease · 30/04/2018 06:13

WTF I have stuck to it religiously and have put on two pounds 😡 I haven’t even added in exercise so not muscle gain, feeling really dejected. My period isn’t due either 🤬

user1471530109 · 30/04/2018 06:24

Hi all, can I join in?

I've been LCHF for 3 weeks now. I lost 7lbs in the first week and pretty much no more (1lb if I play the scales...).

I'm definitely in ketosis as I've tested. So definitely doing that bit ok.

I also don't think I am over doing the protein or fat either! My appetite has dropped massively.

I'm a type 1 diabetic and wondered if that's the reason? I did Atkins years ago though and lost a couple of stone very quickly. So don't think it's that.

I'm single and booked a holiday with the DC this summer. I desperately want to lose some weight so I can happily go in the pool with them. I'm a size 18 atm Sad.

50andgoingstrong · 30/04/2018 07:11

Aw shiraz. So frustrating!
Can you go over your tracker and check there's nothing that's been miscalculated? I made a mistake once with pink grapefruit squash which I thought was sugar free but turned out to have 12g carbs per serving ... so bloody annoying!!!
Otherwise, check your dairy and protein. Too much protein can sometimes weight loss I think.

50andgoingstrong · 30/04/2018 07:13

Welcome user. 7lb in 3 weeks is pretty good! I think that after a big loss like that you can have a slow couple of weeks.

Keep going!

mrsreynolds · 30/04/2018 13:02

I must say I'm not really that hungry
I'm also not doing strict low carb in that I have potatoes occasionally but no wheat or grains (which is what triggers my health issues)

Shiraznowplease · 30/04/2018 18:30

Thanks 50, I definitely haven’t cheated but maybe my protein is higher than its should, has been round 30% whereas think it should be more like 25%. Also had a massive poo (probably TMI) hadn’t realised I was constipated (but realised hVent been for a few days so fingers crossed will be better in the morning.
You are doing brilliantly mrsr, welcome user1471530109 and qumquat and 50 you are an inspiration to us all.
How are you getting on Banging

50andgoingstrong · 30/04/2018 19:18

Day 33 ✅ 24g carbs

I'm not really hungry either mrsreynolds... are you a boredom eater too?

I will eat something just to pass the time.

shiraz
😂 @ massive poo!

OP posts:
mrsreynolds · 30/04/2018 20:27

I am!

In fact so much so I'm sometimes halfway through something - that ice lolly last week for example - and I think "I don't even like this!"

I tend towards constipation but find that better on this woe

Both dc off poorly today so not much done - hoping they are both back to school tomorrow!

clare8allthepies · 01/05/2018 17:02

Made it through the first week, 5 and a half pounds off! Still a long way to go though. Managed to keep my carbs under 20g each day but I must try to start eating a healthier range of foods, there’s been too many peperamis and pork scratchings!

Went to the cinema yesterday morning, sneaked a peperami and some of those kids lunchbox cheese portions in my bag instead of the popcorn 😂

50andgoingstrong · 01/05/2018 18:44

Day 34✅ 35g carbs

Well done clare8 I love pepperami!
