I lost all my excess weight two years LCHFing. It's crept back on over the past year as ive reaching for the frackers, been, eating the kids chips etc. Carb creep and not tracking...means I'm 15lbs over where I like to be ☹️

So, I need to reboot.

I've started tracking today. My aim is to have less than thirty grams carbs a day...

I am armed with double cream, babybel and dark chocolate.

Anyone want to join me?

All good here! Just digging in to spaghetti carbonara with a glass of wine

I’m a size 8!

Highhorse1981 · 25/04/2018 19:13

Sorry! That was totally uncalled for.

Good luck.

I just have genuine doubts about how these diets work in the long term.

mrsreynolds · 25/04/2018 19:25

Wow. What a shitty thing to say!

Bad day??

This diet works great - if you stick to it. It's a way of eating rather than a diet.

I didnt stick to it and now have that 20lbs to lose again

No one to blame but myself of course - but I don't get a kick from shaming and mocking others as you seem to....

🤔

50andgoingstrong · 25/04/2018 19:27

okaaaay...

This is a low carb thread.

Keep nursing these doubts, enjoy your spaghetti and being a size 8.

Good for you! 👏 👏 👏

Meanwhile we all continue....

I was a size 8 once 50 🤣
Seems a long time ago!
I don't want to be a size 8.
Healthy bmi is what im after 👍

50andgoingstrong · 25/04/2018 19:49

A healthy body and appropriate weight for you is what low carb gives you. Clothes size really doesn't matter. Depends on your height, build, genetic inheritance etc... sizes are all different in different shops anyway.

What matters is feeling good in and out of your clothes! gets down from the soap box

How is everybody getting on?

shiraz hope you had a better day today?

Yikes @highhorse? Who pissed on your chips... or carbonara Grin?

Wonder what on Earth possesses someone to come on to a low carb thread to make a comment like that, when the op is doing really well and wants to lose weight... unless it’s a bored mean girl desperately looking for someone to belittle Hmm?

Anyway, I won’t bother looking up how many doctors and experts recommend LCHF vs carbonara and wine, but I’m willing to guess which would be considered healthier. And that’s healthier, regardless of your dress size, which isn’t a terribly good measure of health on its own.

Anywho, all well here. I’ve done an online shop with some nice low(ish) carb goodies, which is arriving tomorrow. Hoping that will make me less likely to reach for the unhealthy, sweet snacks.

The good thing about this woe is that it makes processed crap of all kinds off limits and means I almost always include vegetables in every meal. I eat far more salads and veg without really thinking about it. I’m not being terribly strict, as I’ve already mentioned, but just aiming to reduce carbs, eat mainly whole foods and cut out processed crap, (like pasta, bread, white rice, sweet stuff). It’s more about changing habits for me at the mo, than going all out, Bootcamp style.

Long-term you just have to stay on the diet for life, more or less. Once you reach your ideal weight then you can maybe stick to the diet during the week and eat what you like at weekends. Or don't diet and be fat forever. That's the conclusion I've reached.

Hardly anyone over the age of 35 can eat loads and stay a size 8, I've never met anyone.

Bluntness100 · 25/04/2018 21:45

I'm guessing envy and the poster is no where near a size eight...

As you were. 😁

clare8allthepies · 25/04/2018 22:15

Hi, I started LCHF again on Monday after not having done it for a few years. I need to lose 3 stones just to get into the healthy weight zone. Not too headachey so far but I’m so tired! Really hoping the burst of energy happens soon.

AnnaT45 · 25/04/2018 22:21

Welcome clare!

50 I promise I don't focus on calories, I use MFP to count carbs but it shows the calories.

MrsR sounds like a bad day. Don't worry too much!

Off on holiday tomorrow going to try stick to it as much as I can. Or perhaps I'll have all the carbonara and wine and return a size 8 🙌

50andgoingstrong · 26/04/2018 17:11

Thanks for the recipe dance
tried making this before but forgot about the egg!

Day em....28 I think ✅ 22g carbs

50andgoingstrong · 26/04/2018 17:14

anna me too. It's interesting to see the calories isn't it. It's surprising to me that I eat so few calories some days yet feel full.

Some days, of course, I eat loads! It will make no difference as long as carbs are low and fat is high!

OP posts:
50andgoingstrong · 26/04/2018 17:19

anna have a fab holiday 🙂

Hi clare good luck for the next few days. You'll feel better soon.

Any room for a (not so) little one?! I did the 8 wbsd about two years and loved it, I lost about a stone and felt amazing! Not sure what happened but I lost my way again and have regained that stone plus another half for good measure! I restarted LCHF on Monday, I'm not doing 800 calories as I think that may be too strict for me! I am going well so far but yesterday I had the mother of all headaches and was very achy all over, I was in bed by 20:30 and dp had to do school run as I was feeling so bleurgh this morning! Please reassure me that this is just carb flu and all the well being I felt last will kick in soon!!

mrsreynolds · 27/04/2018 09:45

Hi all
Despite eating my body weight in dark chic this week I've lost a kilo and an inch from my waist
Was hoping for more weight loss but any loss is good
Going to be stricter this week!

mrsreynolds · 27/04/2018 09:46

Dark choc

Bonnie7 · 27/04/2018 16:27

No weight loss for me this morning made me feel despondent plus felt achy and tired. Add to that a rainy grey day at home looking after DS making him sandwiches etc almost made me cheat. However, my kerastix arrived and I’ve just tested, I’m in ketosis!!!
That’s spurred me on 👍🏼!
Weekends are always tricky so stay strong everyone!
Got bacon, mushrooms and creamy scrambled eggs for tomorrows breakfast- who needs carbs anyway?!

50andgoingstrong · 27/04/2018 17:50

Keep going bonnie you will be losing inches.

Well done mrsR.( I'm sure I'd lose more quickly if I could give up the chocolate. But I won't. )

Day 30✅ 22g carbs

My loss has been
Week1: 4 lbs
Week2: nothing! Wahhhhhhh

And I really felt like giving up!

Everyone on here reassured me I'd be losing inches and they were right!

Week3: 1lb
Week4: 2lb

So 7lb in 4 weeks and my clothes feel so much better and I feel better too so keep going!.

I'm really happy with that🙂

OP posts:
mrsreynolds · 27/04/2018 19:54

Well done 50

Bonnie7 · 27/04/2018 22:22

Yes well done 50! 👍🏼

BangingOn · 28/04/2018 09:01

Well done 50!

The scale have been much slower to move than in the past, but I’m assuming that’s due to age. I have definitely lost more inches than weight but I am now past the 1 stone loss mark which I’m pleased with.
