Anyone starting today who wants to keep me company?

I'm starting LCHF today. Is there anyone else who is starting now or have recently started this diet who wants to join me so we can support each other?

I need to lose at least 12 kg but would ideally want to lose 17 kg. if possible before summer is here so I don't have to feel self conscious about wearing summery clothes.

Omg KP you have done amazing. That's really quick. Especially after such a hash diet doing LC. It obviously is working very well for you!

I've had the sickness bug too. Did my last official day tues and had a little treat weds eve. Omg I was so poorly with this bug thurs I never want cheesecake again. I ended up eating 2 slices of whole meal toast and that's all I could stomache.

I've actually been really good the last week I had a few chocs on Saturday actually 5, hey I would normally prob eat the box but I factored my cals in and ended up with a little loss the next day. Just as simple as re education.

I'm still LC and having a small carb portion every other day and have done a couple of fast days not seeing a dramatic loss but on the plus side I've not gained and a week on last year and year before I was a few lbs heavier and just kept gaining so that's a bonus.

KP86 · 18/07/2016 22:14

Oops, there's a bit of a typo in my post.

Current weight is the best since early pregnancy in 2013, not this year! Three years ago Confused

Still a size 18 though, waiting and hoping that I'll be a 16 within the next couple of months because I want to buy/fit into some new clothes.

My shape is soooo different now compared to before DS. My top half is fairly slim (for my size) but from my waist to my knees is huge.

More than half way now, from starting weight of 108 to goal of 78. Woo hoo!

stripeyzebra32 · 19/07/2016 07:56

You've done amazing KP. It won't be long at all. Is it 2 inches per clothes size?

I have a feeling it's only a inch on jeans as the last pair I bought a 12 was gaping in the back so I didn't buy them but didn't try on a smaller size as I felt I am not a 10. My mum went back the next day and got the staff to measure the difference and was only 1 inch on jeans.

I've got a nasty habit of not buying clothes so I'm currently wearing my only pair of shorts and there a large 14 having to tie them up. Tried to buy a pair yesterday and there like bloody hot pants so refused to try them on, my legs are fat and wobble when I walk.

I think I need to do a bit of online shopping as I look bloody stupid in these hanging clothes

KP86 · 19/07/2016 12:56

Well I've lost 18kg to date and some clothes still fit (18) but the bigger size 20s are too big now. My more generous 18s are also getting too big, but I don't fit into any 16s yet, especially pants.

It's meant to be 1 stone/6kg and 2 inches/5cm per size but that doesn't happen for me. Seems to be more like 10-12kg/size. But I am a funny shape anyway and always look bigger than (I hope) I am.

Eg. Today I'm wearing size 20 shorts and they aren't loose at all, whereas my 20 jeans would be falling down on me if I tried them.

Currently sitting in the sun at home with DS in the still-running car behind me sleeping. I need some colour!

stripeyzebra32 · 19/07/2016 13:13

I think it all depends on what shop style and even colour of fabric. I have two pairs jeans identical same shop size one black one blue size 14. The blue didn't fit after a couple of weeks and back then couldn't fit into the black. Wore the black today tad loose but no belt. It's craziness

KP86 · 19/07/2016 13:15

Totally agree about the colour! How funny.

stripeyzebra32 · 26/07/2016 12:11

How did you do at class KP?

I'm finding my weight is really fluctuating at the moment but I'm 2lb down in 2 weeks. Finding it all a bit of a learning curve ATM.

NeoShadowChaser · 27/07/2016 11:50

Hey all. I started LCHF yesterday. Tried the Harcombe diet a couple of months ago, lasted 4 days although it did make me more aware of how much sugar I was consuming.

After that I stopped drinking fizzy juice (and I drank a lot) and no sweets etc. Slowly it started creeping back in in the past week resulting in me waking up yesterday with ZERO energy after a huge sugar binge the day before. Could not face moving from the couch at all.

Gave myself a talking to and went to the shops to buy some LCHF foods then made pizza for lunch (diet doctor) with DS, chicken jalfrezi and cauliflower rice for dinner. Also made choc and peanut butter squares (diet doctor) to keep in the freezer for emergencies!

Have completed week 1 of c25k. Should be starting week 2 tomorrow.

Think I'll give 30 day shred a go intermittently too.

Felt great at the end of yesterday as no bloating and much more energy. The bloating and dodgy stomachs has been shocking lately. Just feel mega ugh!

I'm gonna try and not weigh myself as will be doing strength training so hoping to just go by measurements. I really want to see a difference this time! After having DS2 I just feel so fat and gross with none of my clothes fitting me. Hoping to lose 1.5 to 2 stone.

Need to try and remember to up my water intake Hmm

KP86 · 31/07/2016 23:29

Hello :)

Missed the last two updates, this thread went too far down my watch list!

I have been doing so well on SW. After four weeks I was 1st 2lb lighter and I won slimmer of the month for July. I don't think this week will be as good but weigh in is tomorrow and we shall see.

How is everyone here?

KP86 · 31/07/2016 23:36

PS. Welcome, Neo. This group has gone a bit quiet, but hopefully the others will be back to keep you company soon!

stripeyzebra32 · 01/08/2016 09:57

KP congratulations that's amazing loss.

And slimmer of the month too your on such a roll.

Im 3 weeks out of LC and since I started 5:2 and most of the time still practicing LC just have a small amount of carbs now and again to stop ketosis.
In that 3 weeks I've had some meals out and treats but fast the next day as I've found a meal out puts on about 2lbs. But I've lost 3.8lbs. It's working out pretty well and doesn't seem so hard compared to LC.

KP86 · 01/08/2016 14:41

That's a good, steady rate to lose the weight. Do you have about 8lb until goal now?

stripeyzebra32 · 01/08/2016 15:23

6.8 to new adjusted target but may try for 8 lbs as that's then a 3 stone loss.

Not sure if that's possible or not but I will give it a go.

Good luck for your class this evening.

KP86 · 01/08/2016 15:46

That's so good! Well done.

I'm about 2kg (4lb) off a 3st loss as well. But my target is another 1.5-2st. We are rocking it!

stripeyzebra32 · 01/08/2016 15:57

That's really amazing you should be so proud.

I'm amazed with how much you've lost at SW after being on such a restricted diet like LC you have done so well and very quickly too.

My cousin is doing it ATM too and she's lost the same as you but she hadn't been eating good prior.

KP86 · 01/08/2016 16:16

I did regain about 4kg between stopping LC and starting SW, so the first few should have come off easily (as they did).

But I'm now almost down to 90kg (hopefully after tonight's weigh in) which is the lightest I've been in more than three years - since before I fell pregnant with DS.

SW goal is 78kg, which is officially 2st based on last week's 91kg. But I will reassess closer to time and decide if I ultimately want to get to 72-75.

I have been pretty restrictive on SW so far, but being able to have as much fruit as I want means I haven't felt too much like I was missing out. After LC fruit is still a treat for me!

We are off on two weeks' holidays at the end of this week and knowing me I'm fully expecting to gain while away hence wanting to lose as much as possible beforehand to keep the overall backwards steps a bit smaller, if that makes any sense at all.

I can see why SW has a bit of a cult following. I find the meetings pretty (very!!) boring but getting awards and competing against myself to keep losing is quite addictive.

I do generally allow myself a blow out night after group - nothing crazy, but maybe a higher syn dinner and ice cream for dessert - but back on it the next morning. I love that it's more forgiving than LC, if you have a bad night you're not screwed up for three or four days.

KP86 · 01/08/2016 16:16

Sorry, just saw how long that was!

stripeyzebra32 · 01/08/2016 17:44

Where you off too on holiday? Years back I went 2 weeks all inc to turkey, ate and drank well. Had a pudding and a ice cream but tried to stay on track food wise as much as possible did some swimming and walking and managed to maintain so it can be done.

We're off for a week all inclusive next month can see me maintaining this time but I will try and be good and have a salad for lunch.

Yes I found the groups competitive and so very dull. I've never had any luck doing it at home but unfortunately the classes have put me off going back again.

The thing I'm most pleased about this time is doing the weight loss by myself without a consultant or group as in the past I lose interest after a while.

KP86 · 01/08/2016 17:55

It's a two week road trip to Denmark and back. So not all inclusive, but will involve most meals out. I doubt I'll be drinking much, so that shouldn't be much of an issue. And we intend on doing a lot of walking each day, so I have my fingers crossed I can keep damage to a minimum.

I would be thrilled to just maintain. I'll drink lots of water and try to avoid full sugar soft drinks/lots of full fat coffees.

stripeyzebra32 · 01/08/2016 18:28

Even if you do gain as long as you have a lovely time that's all that matters

KP86 · 01/08/2016 20:54

700g (1.5lb) loss in five days. 90.3kg. So close!

stripeyzebra32 · 01/08/2016 21:34

That's really great. Well done!

SheriffCallie · 11/08/2016 23:12

Hello, Im creeping back in after spending a few weeks going wild on holiday.
Back on LC as that has worked well for me. My phone is about to die, I need to charge it and then read the last few pages so I'll be back on tomorrow, updated.
See you all soon.

wildthingsinthenight · 21/08/2016 16:24

Marking my place but going back to read from page one! Interested in LC and there are some great ideas here!

stripeyzebra32 · 30/08/2016 10:07

This has dropped off my I'm on lists.

How are you all doing?

When I stopped low carb I moved straight over to 5:2 and as a carry on from low carb or maintenance I would happily recommend it.

After every low carb I have done I will never be that weight again as I will just pile on the lbs. BUT after doing this for 1 month I've lost another 7lbs.
