Morning all.

Finally we're having some summertime! It seems like it's much easier to stay low carbing when the weather is nice, for some reason.

Tonight we're going to have fritatta (without the potatoes, obvs) as I'm using up veg in the fridge before I go shopping tomorrow. So it will be shallots, peppers, leek, courgette (all gently softened in plenty of butter) and a load of cheese. Will serve it with a green salad, with an oily dressing, as I have a lettuce that needs to be used. For lunch, I'm finishing up stuff we had at our barbecue on Saturday night - a beefburger, some marinated chicken and coleslaw.

Here's the spreadsheet some really good results so far, and still scope for losing a couple more pounds before we finish this Bootcamp. I'm hoping that when I next weigh (this time around my 'official' weigh-in is Thursday) that the scales might actually start with a 9. I'm so close to that it's tantalising!

However, although next week is our final week, I'm not going to be around for a lot of it, as DH and I are off to Vienna for a few days - my Christmas present! - so I really want to achieve this next target before we leave early next week.

I have finally had a whoosh! I have broken the 66kg barrier and dropped to 65.5kg today.

@Stowickthevast I agree with you. Lentils, black beans, barley, etc., matter far more to me than potatoes and bread.

Re post-Bootcamp, I'd say what you do/what you re-introduce to your diet depends on where you are in terms of reaching your target. (And, of course, assuming that your target is a realistic one!)

If you go straight back to pasta/rice/potatoes/cake etc, then obviously you'll put the weight back on. In this regard, low carbing is like any other diet. Eat the foods/the way you were eating before is what helped to put the weight on, so if you go back to it, then you'll regain the weight.

But adding some carbier foods back, occasionally, is unlikely to do much harm. The key - like anything I suppose - is to do it mindfully and not to go mad.

If you're missing something in particular, e.g. peaches and pears, then have one. Just not more, and not at every meal!

Oh, and keep a close eye on the scale/tape measure, so you know what impact it's having.

Just been in Tesco's after caring for MIL all day and they had a sale on. Not much going but I did get a new swimming cosume - size 14 - that looks teeny tiny! 😲We're off to Presthaven in August and I might just go in the pool with DD and boyfriend! I'll see how I feel at the time. It isn't my weight that stops me going in, it's that I am plagued with Psoriasis - legs - knees - arms and elbows. It doesn't bother me day to day but in a swimsuit? Mega conscious. 😳

@MissBeck have you seen a dermatologist about the psoriasis? I had a patch on my leg which didn't respond to anything I could buy over the counter. I was prescribed dermovate cream. It can only be used short term because it's a steroid cream and thins the skin eventually but it worked really quickly. I only needed to use it for a few days.

I've lurked all 8 weeks, and had some major blips (went away for a few days at end of May), but I've just had a very surreal week...
DH away (this NEVER happens), so I've been super strict with food.
Until Friday, when a friend cooked me dinner, which was carbs on top of carbs with salad that was full of carbs (sweetcorn, beetroot, chickpeas, etc) and I also drank a LOT of alcohol.
Yesterday I didn't eat anything all day, but for various reasons didn't drink a lot of water either and I drank alcohol again.
I've lost 5lb. My biggest whoosh of this boot camp.
I'm assuming that's dehydration, but I'll take it. I'm going to ignore this weekend's blip and carry on on strict boot camp for the next 3 weeks, and I go away on holiday then, so I'll be back at BIWI's next bootcamp when she runs it.

Morning all, I can't believe that we've nearly made it to the end 😃

I've not had anything useful to say this week, so I've just been reading and KOKO. It looks like I'll be 1lb away from my interim goal at the final weigh-in tomorrow, but I want to keep at it and get the final half a stone off before September. I woukd like to add the occasional bowl of rice or bread treat but I'm determined not to let the sugary things creep back in, now that I know how little I've missed them.

I will probably be back for another future Bootcamp, not because I will have 'failed' but because I can see how valuable a reset has been and I know that the winter months will be harder. That's when I let it slip and will need @BIWI 's big stick 🤣

Right, off to look for recipe inspiration for next week!

@BIWI I think you mentioned you had trouble finding smoked chicken a while back. I just had some from M&S. expensive but really good. And I'm saving money by not having pub lunches because they don't appeal unless I can have fish and chips!

Hey bootcampers!

I'm sliding in to join, even though you are all nearly finished!

I found myself signing up for (a very expensive) noom subscription today and then remembered all the lovely ladies and support over here on the LC Bootcamp and headed back!

I love LC as I don't have to (very rarely) weigh or measure and I definitely do not love "lean" meat Envy so I'm back! I love the effect on my energy and mental health too, definitely need to concentrate on these two now!

I haven't gained a lot of weight but not lost any either, I need the chat and ideas to keep me motivated so I hope you don't mind me gatecrashing?

Evening! Bloody long day today. Been at DD's show rehearsals from 9.30am - 5pm then out doing Avon deliveries. Sat down for a bit while chicken is cooking.

@alwaysonadiet1 I've tried that as well. Done the dermatologist thing. I've had it for 35 years and tried most creams and ointments with no joy. My doctor tried to blame my diet years ago 😂but it has not improved one bit since being LCHF, so that's blown his theory out the water. I just ignore it now.

Have you tried spirulina and chlorella supplements for your psoriasis? You can get them on Amazon. I take them for dermatitis that shows up on my face lots and have not had a flare in months! Someone recommended them for me, it may be worth trying if you haven't already ☺️

1.2 lb off this week taking me to an even 10 pounds in total!

I’m ending my official boot camp today as I’m off to Menorca tonight for a week so I’m planning to let my hair down a little and treat myself.

Then will resume boot camp rules when I get back next Monday.

Thanks @BIWI and low carb gang. 3 months after giving birth, I’m only 5 pounds away from my pre pregnancy weight! Couldn’t have done it without you! ❤️
