Morning all

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

... for you to confess all. (Although I notice it seems to have gone a bit awry - some of the rows don't line up, so hopefully @FinallyHere will be along soon with her tool kit.

Good to hear from the end of the last thread that there are some good results. But also, there was a fair bit of slippage, even though it was only week 1. You need to keep an eye on that, as it won't be helping you in the long run.

@EquallyDetermined - please don't worry about seeming 'whiny' (which you weren't!). That's exactly what these threads are for. I was a bit puzzled, though, as to why you aren't enjoying the food, given how many lovely things we can eat. What have been typical meals for you? Can we help in any way? (And have you had a look at the recipe threads, for some inspiration?)

Thank you for the shiny new thread @BIWI !

Just place marking but also for pinknsparkly who isn't here yet, this is the recipe I'm going to use.

https://www.wholesomeyum.com/recipes/keto-low-carb-pizza-casserole-recipe-easy/

I'm going to add mushrooms and olives to mine. 😁I'm also using passata instead of marinara sauce and using Italian herbs or maybe even fresh basil. I've never made it before so hoping it turns out okay!

I've got the cheese sauce to try this week with some spiced pork belly from the freezer, can't wait! Just over a lb down this week but v busy over the weekend so didn't get nearly enough water, I feel it as my system seems sluggish this morning. I'm expecting weight loss to be reasonably slow as I've got a stone to lose and I'm more interested in bedding good habits in on this BC. I wfh almost permanently so winter is a fight to not have toast, coffee and wine later on when I'm home alone.
Mushrooms and spinach scramblet for breakfast, leftover fish pie for lunch (with cauliflower & broccoli mash) and likely to be a snacky dinner. DH & DC are having chicken pie so I could have some of the filling with veggies, but tempted to keep that for tomorrow's lunch.........
Keep on everyone - love hearing about the losses!!!!
@Sunshine1606 that casserole looks fantastic!!!!

2 lb lost which isn’t too bad considering I’m now in my third week, and also can’t shite. One 💩 in 9 days now and it’s starting to get a bit uncomfortable. Just went to the pharmacy and they gave me this to try, fingers crossed 🤞.

Week 2 - Back-to-school Bootcamp - our first weigh-in!
ChimneyPot · 18/09/2023 15:06

I am “only” down 2.75lbs which is not exactly fabulous for a first week but it did include a 3 day trip to France to watch some rugby and a very delayed flight back late last night/ early this morning so am glad it was a loss not a gain.

AllTheBlackCoffee · 18/09/2023 15:08

Has anyone tried Trip drinks? They've got CBD in and I bought one last night but for some daft reason I'm a bit scared to try it as I've never used CBD before (why I think they'll sell something dodgy in the co-op is beyond me!!). They are really low in carbs though (2.1 per can I think) so I'm hoping it might be a nice treat and help to keep me away from wine sometimes. Any views?

PowerTulle · 18/09/2023 15:10

3lbs off! Happy with that (aiming to lose 10 in total).

The main difference for me has been the complete lack of bloating, which has meant I’m so much more comfy. Like @fruitstick i have a key pair of trousers I can now do up! (Well done to you fruit!)

Howi feel is the most important thing for me so am starting the week feeling very motivated by this.

MyShinyThing · 18/09/2023 15:43

Finally caught up and reporting a 2lb loss which I'm pretty happy with.

Actually the things that I'm most happy with today are having an alcohol free weekend for the first time in about a year Blush. I'm feeling a lot clearer in the mornings. And successfully avoiding all the carbs at Zizzi's over the weekend, normally I'd have at least caved in to dessert but I had a coffee with cream and it was delicious!

And my stomach seems to have finally accepted the new woe and settled down!

Well done everyone on the fab losses and for keeping going into week 2!

I've tried them.

They're nice. I didn't feel any effects whatsoever to be honest, but I did feel relatively relaxed.

I'd say it's probably similar to having a chamomile tea.

LiesDoNotBecomeUs · 18/09/2023 17:31

Well done on the great first week losses everyone and thank-you BIWI!

I'm a long-time low-carber in need of a re-bootcamp :)

A few life events and a 'rest' from low carbing have been very bad for me. It is not just lies that don't become me at the moment - none of my wardrobe does either.

I'm hoping to share this bootcamp with you (though am not on the spreadsheet as fitting my clothes is my objective).

I keep looking at the keto-fast-800 but am put off by the idea of calorie counting. For me, obsession lies in that direction! LC Bootcamp has always worked for me and (unlike times between other kinds of 'diet' in the past) I've remained below my starting weight (many years ago) despite some twists and turns of fortune.

dimples76 · 18/09/2023 17:44

For brunch today I had a crustless quiche with broccoli, mushrooms, spinach and tomato. There was a lot of cheese in it and I am still feeling very full. Think I will have a prawn salad later.

Frumpyunicorn · 18/09/2023 19:00

Hi, please may I join? I couldn't start last week as I was at a work conference but have made a start today. This is my first ever post on mumsnet, but I have been reading it for a long time. I have done whole 30 before which suited me well, and had gestational diabetes previously so I am hoping that this will help.

Gnomegnomegnome · 18/09/2023 19:25

@VeryGoodVeryNice hope the poo comes!

AllTheBlackCoffee · 18/09/2023 20:01

Thanks @fruitstick I will give it a go later in the week and see how I find it. Just be nice to have something that's not water or black coffee.

Good luck @VeryGoodVeryNice were all rooting for you.

I've just made the most amazing dip to go with dinner - a tub of sour cream, whizzed up with a load of blue cheese, salt, pepper and a pinch of garlic powder. I've had to put it in the fridge so it was out of sight cos I couldn't stop eating it. It'll certainly perk up my lunchtime salads this week anyway.

VeryGoodVeryNice · 18/09/2023 20:08

Thanks for the support 🤣

Just got back from the pub and was talking to my friend who is the brother of the guy who got mauled to death by dogs last week, he got really over-invested in my constipation woes so I’m glad I was able to provide him with some distraction. Going to hit the fibrogel now and have a swig of milk of magnesia for good measure. Surely to god that will do the trick.

LadyBird1973 · 18/09/2023 20:19

Lactulose is very good too @VeryGoodVeryNice - it makes everything all soft and water filled. Used to get it for dd when she had struggles.

Gnomegnomegnome · 18/09/2023 20:23

@AllTheBlackCoffee that sounds amazing. Adding that to my list!

@VeryGoodVeryNice poor chap.

fruitstick · 18/09/2023 20:24

B - FFGY
L - I made myself a tuna melt without the bread. Tuna, diced pepper, topped with grated cheese and put under the grill. Delicious
S - bag of pork scratchings. They only had 2g carb per 100g and were like quavers. So salty too. I'm sure they can't be a daily treat but it was nice to crunch something.
D - spag Bol with cauliflower.

I'm going to try and cut down on my dairy this week.

I'm having lots of yoghurt and cheese, and with a couple of cups of tea too I think it might be adding up.

Gnomegnomegnome · 18/09/2023 20:27

B: ffgy with cinnamon (prefer it without)
L: Greek salad
D: crustless quiche and half an avocado
s: baby bel

LiesDoNotBecomeUs · 18/09/2023 20:33

So sorry about your friend's bereavment @VeryGoodVeryNice .

Malin2Mizen · 18/09/2023 21:03

2lb loss here - mostly good, but some slips. onward.

ZiggZagg · 18/09/2023 21:13

Thanks @BIWI I surprised myself with that loss!

Well done to everyone who lost and to those who are unhappy for whatever reason KOKO! This WOE really does work.

Had a court report to do today and went into full on panic mode so I hardly ate or drank (or peed) all day.

L was pickled onions with cheese and a few roasted nuts.

D was chicken balti with shoogled sprouts and boiled cabbage with lots of salt 😋

I have definitely not drank enough water but I'm not going to down 3litres before bed 🙈 so mindful to try harder tomorrow. Where's Shag when you need her with her WATER WATER WATER prompts? 🤣

Carrierbagofseedsandstars · 18/09/2023 21:39

Really pleased to have lost 1.4lbs in 3 days.
I seem to have been eating cauliflower cheese for most of this time, as I made a huge trayful. Finished the last little for lunch. Got a few days of aubergine parmigiana now!
@FinallyHere I like the idea of having some sauce readily available!
I have never, ever drunk so much water!
@fruitstick thank you for the pictures - I know the skirt I want to fit into, so you have inspired me to take a photograph.
Thank you everyone for your posts and good luck for next week.

VeryGoodVeryNice · 18/09/2023 22:10

Yeah it’s just bloody awful re my friend, I have never seen such trauma and torment in someone’s eyes 😢.

In happier news, the eagle has landed 🎉🎉🎉💩
