I'm 4 lbs away from a 'normal' BMI however I'm off on holiday next Sunday. So this week to get into strict good habits and then keeping going as much as I can on holiday. I'm sure there will be lots of fish and salads, plus hams and cheeses for lunch. Continental breakfast, so I'll give that a miss - certainly don't want to get into having sweet pastries!

Food today:
B - coffee with cream
L - green vegetable soup, plus a salad
D - salmon with mushrooms, tomato, kale

BIWI · 11/09/2023 09:48

As well as my usual disclaimer, I'm going to post my usual (oh, here she goes again, blah blah blah) request for good thread etiquette:

The threads will move very quickly (especially in the first couple of weeks). But please, please, please read everything that's been posted before you post. Use the bookmark facility so you don't lose your place. Don't just jump on the thread to post your own stuff without bothering to read what others have posted.

It is very wearing when we have to keep answering the same questions, because posters haven't bothered to read what's gone before!

Hello @BIWI and everyone! I’m lurking this time as a bit late to the spreadsheet party. Just wanted to say how brilliantly this worked for me a couple of years ago. I’m looking forward to following.

PurpleWhirple · 11/09/2023 09:54

I forgot to weigh myself this morning 🙈

BIWI · 11/09/2023 10:01

@PowerTulle please don't tell me you're just going to lurk though?!

BIWI · 11/09/2023 09:43

@EquallyDeterminedand @LucyLatimer just remember that we're trying to avoid processed foods as much as possible, so try not to have bacon every day (and if possible, buy nitrate-free bacon)

Edited

Yes, we are actively trying to reduce processed meat, and do buy nitrite-free wherever possible, but it is really the only thing I can face in the mornings and its only for the first couple of weeks till I can go back to 16:8.

Luana1 · 11/09/2023 10:17

Thanks BIWI for setting this up :)

My plan today:
Breakfast: Coffee with cream/mushroom powder/collagen powder
Lunch: Scrambled eggs with cheese and cream & half an avocado
Dinner: Pork belly, roast cauliflower, kale

Good luck everyone!

So we add our own figures to the sheet? I’m almost certainly just being dim but how do we add the sheet to google sheets? I downloaded the app, but when I click on the sheet it doesn’t take me to the app, it just suggests I download the app, which I already have 😵‍💫

hello @VeryGoodVeryNice sorry that you are having these challenges.

My first suggestion involves using a browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge etc) which i would find a lot easier to do on a laptop / desktop. Do you have access to a computer, rather than a phone?

if not, shout, by which i time i hope to have had a go on my own phone.

There are lots of things we can do, just need to work out what works best for you

VeryGoodVeryNice · 11/09/2023 10:20

Thanks @FinallyHere, I’ll have a go on the laptop when I’m out of the bath.

FinallyHere · 11/09/2023 10:27

LadyBird1973 · 11/09/2023 09:29

@FinallyHere the spreadsheet opens for me but the column to add weight is dated 25 September, week 3. Also I can see someone's real name in a red box.

Interesting one, sorry about that @LadyBird1973

Not absolutely sure what's going on there: what happens when you press the left arrow to go left? Or can you click in the left most column an then move to the right?

FinallyHere · 11/09/2023 10:30

sorry about the service here, lovely bootcampers.

do please feel free to DM me, if you have any trouble with the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness SofF

I'm afraid @BIWI 's 'big stick' will be twitching at me, for clogging up the thread with technical matters and distracting us all from the loveliness that is LCHF (Low carb high Fat) bootcamp

Oh no - no Big Stick twitchiness from me! Just very grateful that you're here to sort it all out @FinallyHere Grin

Ready an d reporting for duty.

Can I ask about drinks. Is it essentially just water? I'm out on Friday night and happy to forgo the booze, but are there any other 'soft drinks' that are allowed.

I was looking at the CBD cans but they have fruit and stevia.

nappiesandcontracts · 11/09/2023 10:44

Hi all, last minute decision to join the BC so I'm in the office today and need to buy my lunch. Any suggestions about what to go for? I have Pret, M&S and Tesco nearby... Thanks!

BIWI · 11/09/2023 10:45

It's a tough one @fruitstick - if you go for anything other than water, and you're avoiding the carbs, then you end up with artificial sweeteners.

That said, if it's the only way to get through the evening - and you can't face water all night! - then choose the least worst option.

It's impossible to know what will be available where you're going - but if you find it, BrewDog's Nanny State IPA is a good choice. It's alcohol-free and also only 1.2g carbs per 100ml. (And it tastes good too)

PamPooveysCow · 11/09/2023 10:48

Hi all

Keen to do this WOE although a bit emotional at how much I weigh! For today,

B Scrambled eggs & smoked salmon
L Chicken & bacon salad
D Creamy feta chicken

I've done this WOE in the past, and I remember being starving in the first couple of weeks - not really starving, but not feeling sated because of no carbs. But then after that I only wanted to eat once or twice per day.

fruitstick · 11/09/2023 10:48

Thanks @BIWI. It's at a friend's house (book club) and there is always a wealth of snacks and booze. I can't really turn up with a boiled egg in my pocket.

I made some baba ganoush last night so I'm going to take that and some cucumber to snack on, but that IPA might soften the blow.

BIWI · 11/09/2023 10:49

@nappiesandcontracts Pret do two lovely salads that would work - their Tuna Niçoise and Crayfish and Avocado.

Loads of things in M&S - their Rollitos are always popular (that's some form of meat/salami wrapped round different types of cheese). Be careful on the salad front though, as many/most of them seem to have pasta/rice/potato in them. But their deli range will have bits and pieces to choose from, and you can always supplement with some cucumber or other 'safe' veg.

@PamPooveysCow well, the only way is down!

Just a reminder to you, too, to not include bacon too often in your menus

Gratters on your 'four pounds away from 'normal'' @venusandmars

Hope your holiday goes well with lots of delicious, HFLC food to savour & enjoy.

nappiesandcontracts · 11/09/2023 11:03

Thanks @BIWI all great suggestions 👌🏼 Currently snacking on cucumber and looking forward to lunch...!

Oh definitely joining in!

QueenOfHiraeth · 11/09/2023 11:13

I've entered my weight to start but won't be able to do much for a while as I'm off on holiday in the next few days so will start properly on return
