Pre-Christmas 22 Boot Camp: Week 4

Good Morning all! Flowers Sorry I’m a bit late - had a fabulous weekend away and will weigh in myself tomorrow after spending the day drinking a lot of water Blush

Here we are in Week 4 already - nearly half way through Shock, Remember that many of us experience a few weeks of doldrums over Weeks 3, 4 and even possibly week 5, where the scales will resolutely refuse to move —or even move upwards slightly Shock. This is normal, so keep the faith, follow the rules Smile, KOKO and the scales will move again. In the meantime, concentrate on the NSVs, like better sleep, better skin, more energy and/or looser clothes. Smile

Remember that this is a marathon not a sprint, and try not to get too fixated on the short term.

I’ll get @FinallyHere to link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness Flowers

Here's to another good week Flowers

You've just reminded me that I have some smoked salmon in the fridge @Baystard Smile

I must remember to treat myself to it.

Early dinner was Marks and Sparks meal for two (I'll have the other half tomorrow). Steak, dianne sauce and creamed spinach. So good.

Lucienandjean · 12/11/2022 20:37

Feeling awful today, which is just a reaction to my covid and flu jabs yesterday. But I've spent most of the day in bed or on the sofa, and I've definitely not drunk enough water.

B: nothing
L: bacon, scrambled egg, mushrooms
D: salmon, prawns, avocado, stir fried veggies.

prettybird · 12/11/2022 20:58

Dh and I need to book out Covid and flu jags - we got our texts telling us to do so the week before last but didn't want to get them before our weekend away. But we haven't got round to booking this week Blush

Just had my cheeseburger pie, served with shoogled sprouts. Yummy Smile. It's also very filling. I made a triple quantity so I have loads left over to have on Monday and to freeze in individual portions.

Get a shift on @prettybird! Flu cases are on the rise and I think that's what's actually more worrying than Covid-19 cases this winter especially for those of us who are old gimmers

NotDonna · 13/11/2022 05:52

@CaffeineFreee may I ask where your sports holiday was please? Which company/resort please?
Im just catching up on the thread from several days ago , apologies!

NotDonna · 13/11/2022 06:50

Your Cheeseburger pie sounds delish prettybird. I had to Google soffritto. Love learning new things! I’ve also tried to find a recipe for your pie but most have flour or something called ‘bisquik’, which must be American.
I’m overseas at the moment but still sticking to LC albeit did have a few G&Ts first night here but I’m abstaining totally from alcohol now as it gave me such a bad tummy the next morning. I’m usually a daily weigher and no access to scales is a little annoying. Nothing feels looser though so I’m a little concerned that things are static. I’ve been shocking with the water. That needs to change today!!

ditavonteesed · 13/11/2022 07:10

I should have had my jabs but I've been putting it off because I felt so poorly for so long. Now I don't want to go back to feeling poorly again. I should do it though, could get them tomorrow at work.

prettybird · 13/11/2022 08:47

@NotDonna - the cheeseburger pie is in the meats recipe thread in the Low Carb Boot Camp topic right here Wink

Here is the screen shot I took yesterday as I couldn't fond my printed-off recipe. NB: remember to put the Worcestershire sauce into the mince. I also put a layer of thinly sliced gherkins on top of the mince before pouring the cheese mix over (someone had suggested that - can't remember if it's actually in that recipe as it's truncated in the screenshot).

It's nice cold too.

Hello all :) work has been insane this week (I was at it until 8pm Saturday...) and I well and truly fell off the wagon for the sheer convenience of it. Not like I even had anything good and carby like fresh bread, more like pot noodles and crisps. But I dared a peek at the scales right now and I've actually lost a tiny amount so I feel like no major harm done and would quite like to get back on track. I like the idea of doing a self care thing every day, so all of next week I would like to complete a Yoga with Adriene video. I should work on my fitness more than my size honestly, but I've come to the conclusion that my current gym (I recently moved and had to switch) just depresses me a little bit, I thought it looked fantastic when I joined but having been there a bit now it's kind of shabby and always so sodding cold, so I never follow up on my plans to go anymore. My old gym had plants and free tea and I always looked forward to going there :(

Okay, time to catch up on the thread and celebrate not falling off the wagon completely with a big glass of water :)

prettybird · 13/11/2022 09:47

@Backstreets - sorry you've had such a bad week with work - hope it's getting better Flowers While I'm glad that there hasn't been too much damage from resorting to pot noodles (personally, I've never seen the attraction of them, even when they were "invented" while I was at Uni Confused), maybe it's worth reflecting that they didn't actually make you feel better and try to have some low carb treats to subsist on (although you're worth more than simply subsisting Smile) like baby bels or some ore-cooked pieces of chicken. I'd even on such occasions accept that a few handfuls of almonds would be better than pot noodles Grin

Hope you manage to find a nicer gym.

I'm glad that the daily act of self-care challenge has resonated with people. I'll need to think of a new challenge for tomorrow but I'm going to continue with my own personal challenge - getting to bed before midnight. Achieved it last night with 3 minutes to spare Grin

@NotDonna We went to Club LaSanta in Lanzarote - would recommend and many repeat visitors there, if that is your thing

ZiggZagg · 13/11/2022 12:18

Happy Sunday!

@BIWI are the recipe threads not pinned anymore? Looking for the dessert recipes thread and cannot find it on my phone!

Having a reset day today after a lovely meal and a slice of maltéese cake eaten mindfully and enjoyfully (I know it's not a word Grin)

Fasting as long as I can and will break the fast with a cheese omelette with a large salad!

Need to work on my water intake!

prettybird · 13/11/2022 12:26

@ZiggZagg - I don't think the pinned threads work anymore on the app but they are still there on the browser version Sad

One of the many bits of functionality that got lost in the "upgrade" HmmConfused

Just been having a think about the challenge for the coming week: I'm swithering between doing a small piece of preparation every day for Christmas (even that's just starting to declutter/tidy the house) or doing something a day that you have been procrastinating about/keep meaning to do Xmas Grin

Quiche is in the oven thanks for the recipe @Jollyholibobs

ZiggZagg · 13/11/2022 14:21

I'll partake @prettybird !

1st up would be the Xmas tree then everything else Grin

We were there Sept/Oct this year. I can't recommend it more highly.

Such a range of activities, to really suit different preferences and ages. Lovely to see three generations of the same family doing activities together.

Plenty of sunny deck chairs overlooking the leisure pool and the out to the lagoon. Triathletes and social swimmers all well catered for.

Don't know of anywhere else that has 27 50m swim lanes.

Reliable sunshine and CV loads of activities. I loved it and have already booked for next year.

Same self care challenge for me this week, daily walk, at least on the days I WFH.

Took me til Friday to actually get out there then turned my foot. I've been out walking on sat and Sunday and all feels ok so shall have another go at that next week.

Slightly disappointed by my monthly weigh in which registered just one pound down, after a brilliant loss in the month which included the ten days at Club La Santa. More activities to be incorporated into my daily life.

Thanks for all the Christmas inspiration. I think I'm going to do just Christmas Day and stick to this WoE otherwise with. I feel good on it and have an 'outfit' for the party season.

M&S Leather Look High Waisted Leggings

In gold for dress up and green for casual.

Reminding myself that I do this WoE because it suits me, I sleep better and my skin doesn't break out. BMI still in the overweight category so some 15kg to go til I'm in the middle or if the healthy range.

It has been known for me to get to this point then relaxed on all fronts and been back in the obese range in the blink of any eye.

Thank you lovely people for the support and inspiration to KOKO
