Pre-Christmas 22 Boot Camp: Week 4

Good Morning all! Flowers Sorry I’m a bit late - had a fabulous weekend away and will weigh in myself tomorrow after spending the day drinking a lot of water Blush

Here we are in Week 4 already - nearly half way through Shock, Remember that many of us experience a few weeks of doldrums over Weeks 3, 4 and even possibly week 5, where the scales will resolutely refuse to move —or even move upwards slightly Shock. This is normal, so keep the faith, follow the rules Smile, KOKO and the scales will move again. In the meantime, concentrate on the NSVs, like better sleep, better skin, more energy and/or looser clothes. Smile

Remember that this is a marathon not a sprint, and try not to get too fixated on the short term.

I’ll get @FinallyHere to link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness Flowers

Here's to another good week Flowers

Hi Everyone !
Thanks for the shiny new thread @prettybird .
Your words are perfect for me this morning. After a week of seeing the scales first going down and then steadily up, I'm arriving this morning with half a pound on - despite having faithfully followed the BC rules. So, this week I'll be working on keeping that faith and not giving in to the negative inner voice. May the force be with me and also with all of you !!

ZiggZagg · 07/11/2022 08:59

Morning!

4lb down for me this week which takes me to 17lb in 3 weeks, unbelievable!

Little Iris is settling in well, I just love her so much already, she's got such a sweet nature ❤️

Skiphopbump · 07/11/2022 09:05

@ZiggZagg Iris is gorgeous

2lbs off for me this week, had I course yesterdays weight it would be 3lbs off. The first couple of weeks I lost large amounts, now I feel I’m chipping away slowly- as long as the trend is downwards I’m happy!

FinallyHere · 07/11/2022 09:08

Good morning lovely people and thank you @prettybird for opening another week of fabulous boot camping

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

prettybird · 07/11/2022 09:12

@WitchWand - good for you and it will come Flowers

@ZiggZagg - she is gorgeous - and I'll not a dog person. That's a great loss over the period - but I'm sure you know that an average of 1 to 2lb a week going forward is healthy rate of weight loss Wink

@Skiphopbump - fantastic progress. It's always worth remembering to look at the overall weight loss and average that out over the period.

I'm down 3.6 lbs this week which i am ecstatic with. Down in next stone bracket Made it to the gym only twice last week as on Friday a cold and period arrived in sucession. Gonna try to make it three times this week.
Made chia seeds with coconut milk and a splosh of sweet freedom choc shot. Delicious. Made a roast chicken last night so will be making chicken salad for lunch today.
Amazing progress @ZiggZagg

prettybird · 07/11/2022 09:24

I was thinking of suggesting an additional challenge for this week: set yourself a little non Boot Camp challenge that represents looking after yourself - because you are important Flowers

So I'm going to set myself the target of getting to bed before midnight, as I'm dreadful at watching late night news and then falling asleep on the couch Blush It often actually, weirdly, helps with weight loss Confused (there is a scientific reason but I can't remember it Blush)

But you might pick something like putting on some makeup every day, wearing nice clothes, putting on jewellery that you forget to wear....whatever is appropriate for you Smile

@prettybird I'm shocked as I do normally slow down weight wise after the first 2 weeks. But I am diabetic so I do need to lose it quite fast, to try and reverse it. I have been eating well and not feeling hungry so I'll just keep doing what I'm doing Grin

humancalculator · 07/11/2022 09:51

@ZiggZagg , Iris is irresistible!
Not a huge loss this week but back under 190lbs (if only just), so that’s a mental threshold crossed! Next one to hit is 85kg. Flipping back and forth between pounds and kilos gives me lots of little micro goals to aim for (not stones, though, that’s just something those of us not from the UK will never understand…)!

ListenLinda · 07/11/2022 09:53

Had an early morning Sainsburys delivery this morning, so completely forgot to weigh in.
I will do it first thing in the morning!
i’m technically on week 6 since I started so hopefully the scales move again for me.
Got lots of lovely BC friendly food delivered this morning, i’m taking myself to the gym on my lunch break and i’m here for all the water.
KOKO everyone!

venusandmars · 07/11/2022 10:01

One more pound gone. Slowly, slowly... but that's OK it's all in the right direction. @prettybird thanks for the new thread and for running this bootcamp.

@ZiggZagg Iris is gorgeous - what did your dh say? It's not the kind of secret you can hide for very long Grin

No idea what food I'll have today, I'm a bit low on inspiration. Definately eggs for lunch, maybe scrambled eggs and bacon. We're not getting a veg box this week because we are going away for a couple of days so I can choose lots of nice leafy things from the local greengrocer, probably spinach...

prettybird · 07/11/2022 10:16

We're having my dad over tonight for supper (didn't want to put pressure on ourselves yesterday to get home in time), so I bought a fillet of pork wrapped in bacon and stuffed with Cumberland sausage in Tebay yesterday. The Cumberland sausage has some rusk/what in it (80% pork judging by the "plain" Cumberland sausages that they had on sale) but as it's just the stuffing, I'm expecting/hoping it won't be too bad overall.

Bought a veggie thing as well for ds' girlfriend who came down for the weekend and is only going back tomorrow.

Will do plenty of low carb veg (but can't do shoogled sprouts as my dad hates brassicas of all forms) alongside, plus roast potatoes for the rest of them.

Might make the chocolate pots tonight - just need to get an orange (ingredients: eggs, high cocoa chocolate; cream infused with cardamom, zest and juice of an orange, makes 7/8).

Half a pound up for me which I am so happy with as at one point last week I was 4lbs up. Feeling good and ready for the week.
@ZiggZagg iris is perfect, also wondering what dh said. Also amazing loss.
@prettybird thanks for the thread, hope your weekend was lovely. Also I love the do something self challenge. Will give it some thought.

TakeItCheesy · 07/11/2022 10:59

Joining @ditavonteesed and @WitchWand at half a pound up; but I knew secretly that I was having too much dairy and not drinking enough water. Gonna koko, but with maybe a bit more of a week one mindset!

NSV though; got out a bunch of my winter clothes I'd packed away, and I fit back into some things I was struggling to last year! I've lost about 30lb overall in the past year, so it's a nice reminder that slow and steady does work too.

@ZiggZagg Iris is such a cutie 😍 You must be delighted to have hit the jackpot of adorable and good natured!

ZiggZagg · 07/11/2022 11:35

So DH laughed when I told him I'd got her and finally met her this morning and he's smitten! I knew he would be because she's such a lovely little sweetheart Grin

Fasting this morning, will have tuna mayo salad sandwich with SLCR.

Dinner will be spicy chicken wings with salad and celeriac chips

Have a great day all! (Isn't it amazing how happy a puppy can make you?Grin)

BIWI · 07/11/2022 12:08

She is so sweet! Glad DH loves her too Grin

ZiggZagg · 07/11/2022 12:15

He's a big softie really 🤣🤣

I was glad it worked out well as we have not been doing too good over the last two years, it could have had another less desirable outcome!

Just waiting for him to come home with mayo so I can have my lunch, Im ravished!

debka · 07/11/2022 12:47

1lb off this week. I know it can slow down but it's a bit frustrating! Clothes not really feeling much looser either.

I'll just keep on going- 1lb off is better than 1lb on- and actually looking back I've lost 10lb this Bootcamp already, so not to be sniffed at!

prettybird · 07/11/2022 13:01

@debka - looking at the weight loss over the duration of the BootCamp is the right way to look at it Smile

Looking at it long term, an average of 1-2lb is both normal and healthy Halo - for most diets Grin And how many other diets can you eat well, not feel hungry and enjoy your food while still losing weight Wink

BIWI · 07/11/2022 13:41

@debka

This is what 1lb of fat looks like.

Pre-Christmas 22 Boot Camp: Week 4
Backstreets · 07/11/2022 14:11

another member of the half a pound up club but I've really not deserved anything better. The first week I was giving 100% or close to it but now it's like... 70. Maybe I need to buy a slightly too small christmas party dress to kick my arse into gear?

HaveGogglesWillTravel · 07/11/2022 14:15

Wow that's a very powerful image BIWI. Incredible really.

I've been AWOL. I fell off the wagon for a few days last week. Its difficult to pinpoint why but I have a history of disordered eating and frankly, the fact that I've managed to reign myself in and come back, is a NSV!

I'm suffering secondary carb flu as punishment and hopefully this will help me stay on the straight and narrow hence forth.

I'll stand on the scales tomorrow (after copious amounts of water) to make myself accountable.

Your puppy is gorgeous ZiggZagg

ListenLinda · 07/11/2022 14:32

Well I did it, I dragged my sorry butt to the gym & feel better for it. I know i’ll feel even better at the end of BC when the wobbly bits when I get on the treadmill are less, wobbly 😄

Sunsnowsun · 07/11/2022 14:35

Afternoon, thank you for the new thread @prettybird
I am a pound up, but not surprised as have been a bit half hearted this weekend. I am going to draw a bootcamp line and will start to write down what I am eating in my diary to make me more accountable to myself 🤭

I have just done a shop and am planning all our meals for the week.

prettybird · 07/11/2022 14:37

If you can't quite thole that lovely image Hmm that BIWI posted of a pound of fat, you can visualise a slightly more "palatable" Wink version in terms of two packs of butter. And for half a pound, a single pack of butter Shock - that you would be better eating than on you in unflattering places Grin
