Morning all.

Here, for its last outing this Bootcamp is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I know the last couple of weeks have been a bit quiet, and apologies for Covid-related absence from me as well, but it looks like this has been a pretty successful Bootcamp, which is great.

I don't know when the next Bootcamp will be, but probably won't be till around May at some point. However, we'll keep this thread going in the interim.

Don't forget to have a good rummage around the other threads in the Bootcamp topic in the interim, especially the recipe threads, as there's lots of useful stuff there.

And thank you to everyone who has posted, helped to support other posters and even those who have just lurked at the back! I genuinely wouldn't have even half the motivation to do this without you. This is a rather lovely little corner of Mumsnet.

I have gone for two weeks now without breakfast. I didn’t think I would be able to but there you go. For the first few days I had a few hunger pangs but they didn’t last very long. Just about to have some mushroom soup for lunch and I am not hungry. Thanks @biwi for running another bootcamp.

FinallyHere · 22/04/2022 15:33

Thank you @BIWI and @Baystard for the next bootcamp. I tried to add thanks but was unable to post for a while.

Looking forward to continuing, as I feel so much better for low carbing Inspired by @ilovecherries I've kept it on holiday and it has been no hardship. Grilled fish and greens oh and a glass of champagne, ok so bootcamp light. So grateful for the advice and support here.

Onwards and downwards til I am on the 'normal for me' weight range again then I'll move onto KOKO.

Had a wonderful lunch today. Just salad, Parma ham and cheese for dinner.

This evening I made a mince mix with mushrooms and tomatoes herbs and garlic
then topped it with mashed cauliflower with a couple cubes of Boursin garlic and herb cheese ( thanks to whoever mentioned that ) and green beans

it was yum even tho I say so
myself

oh and Greek yoghurt with some berries and a spoonful of cream . That spoonful of cream makes such a difference

SummerSazz · 22/04/2022 20:58

I'm back after having been locked out 🤨. Thanks for the May bootcamp @BIWI, I shall be there!

I'm stuck at 11.3 after camping and away with work. Last 2 days been good food wise so I'm hoping to be on the move again downwards soon. Wedding next weekend to go to and Spanx will need to be deployed Grin

Andi2020 · 22/04/2022 22:28

Thanks @Baystard this is not my first time we usually type names on spreadsheet and then before start date @ouchmyfeet Sorted into alphabetical order.
You can add me in

ditavonteesed · 23/04/2022 06:48

I just typed a massive reply but for some reason I can't post it, anyway tried logging out and in again so will see if that works before I retype it.

ditavonteesed · 23/04/2022 06:51

Ha ha excellent that worked.
Now to try and remember what I said.
@venusandmars very jealous of your tip sounds amazing, you need to give me tips, we managed out maiden voyage, one night an hour away from home but was good, would like to get more adventurous in the future.
@BIWI 8 weeks is good and whatever works for you is best cause your a diamond doing it for us all.
@pinknsparkly throw the clothes away, it's liberating.
Gym is going well here, dd got me using this new dangled ab thing yesterday and my middle is rather tender today.

prettybird · 23/04/2022 08:37

@Andi2020 : in recent Bootcamps, we've done the list of participants on here, then whoever is doing the SoF puts them all into the spreadsheet in alphabetical order just before the BootCamp starts.

It's only once the BootCamp has begun that new/late starters add their name at the bottom of the list and the Spreadsheet Admin will periodically re-order alphabetically.

All praise to the current volunteer for the job @Baystard Flowers

I'm not getting Threads I'm On and I can't reply to threads on the Mumsnet app so apologies for being AWOL for a while. I've reinstalled the app but now can't remember my password - doh! At least I can still get in on the PC.

NigellaAwesome · 24/04/2022 09:22

My poor Mum passed away on Friday after a brief illness. We're all devastated and she was an enormous presence in my life so she will be sorely missed.

Food has been a bit erratic as I have been at the mercy of hospital food, and last night I dived into a box of crackers.

I've never been in this position before, and There Is So Much To Do. I'm an executor and feeling overwhelmed with the enormity of it.

I do know that lc eating makes me feel good and able to focus and manage, so I need to look at the last few days as being completely understandable in the circs, and focus on self care.

BIWI · 24/04/2022 09:26

I'm so sorry to hear that @NigellaAwesome Sad. The best advice I can give you is just to focus on one day at a time/one task at a time. And ask for help if you need it.

Look after yourself Flowers

Sorry to hear that @NigellaAwesome Don't try to push your shock or sadness away, you don't have to put on a brave face. Flowers

Pleaseandthankyou · 24/04/2022 11:30

So sorry @NigellaAwesome .

prettybird · 24/04/2022 12:42

Flowers to you @NigellaAwesome

My mum died 10 years ago last Wednesday although we'd "lost" her a few years before because of her head injury. I still miss being able to talk to her, ask her advice and share milestones Sad - but with time I've been able to remember her more as the fantastic, generous, intelligent woman that she was before the accident and to appreciate her contribution to my life (and to others' lives) and that in a sense she lives on in me Flowers

FinallyHere · 24/04/2022 13:14

Sorry for your loss @NigellaAwesome

@cantchooseaname

Welcome to bootcamp. I saw your question on the sign up sheet about how to find this link (below) to the "spreadsheet of fabulousness". Everything you need to get started and for brilliant success are contained within it.

Look across the tabs: there is one with 'the rules' for the basic rules and other tabs with more info, a veggie option and a light option. Resource tab for links to the science. Loads more.

The support that we get on these brilliant threads are what makes me stick with it.

Hope it works for you too

ditavonteesed · 24/04/2022 16:03

So sorry @NigellaAwesome

SummerSazz · 25/04/2022 08:12

Sorry to hear your sad news @NigellaAwesome and hope you have someone supportive as another executor. I was my mums with my sister and a spreadsheet was a must. {{non MN hugs for you}} and take your own time and path to deal with the grief 💐

I've made it to the 1.5 stones off in line with my target (yay!) and in an NSV I can fit into all my old summer clothes so no need for shopping this year (I dislike clothes shopping ...

Will t/f over to the other thread now!

SummerSazz · 25/04/2022 08:15

Just realised I'm a week early (doh!). I'll stay here for the rest of this week and hope I get into the 10's

Had an 'interesting' incident with a small tub of sugar free jellies on Saturday. Probably shouldn't have eaten the whole lot BlushGrin

BestIsWest · 25/04/2022 08:23

@NigellaAwesome sorry for your loss. I’ve done executor duties recently too and second the spreadsheet advice and to take your time. There is no rush to deal with everything.

ZiggZagg · 25/04/2022 08:29

@NigellaAwesome so sorry to hear your news, I lost my dad a year ago Saturday. FlowersFlowers

pinknsparkly · 25/04/2022 08:52

I'm so sorry @NigellaAwesome, hope you manage to treat yourself kindly while you process the news. There's no rush to get started on her estate so give yourself a week or two to breathe and regroup if you need it.

Is anyone planning on spending this week preparing for the next bootcamp? I'm going to make a real effort to up my water intake (and get back to intermittent fasting, my non-eating window has been gradually shrinking the past few weeks though I've stayed away from midnight munchies which is a bonus). Water is always my downfall on these bootcamps, so hopefully by getting a weeks headstart on that, I'll have half a chance of making it a habit this time...!
