Week 7 - Jan 22 Low Carb Bootcamp

Evening all. Slightly earlier than usual as I'm taking to my bed with Man Flu. (The most serious of all colds, don't you know?!)

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness as ever

So this is our last two weeks. Still time, though, to get rid of a few pesky pounds. Perhaps time to consider going back to strict Bootcamp, if you've been following Bootcamp Light over the last few weeks?

Next week I'm going to try another recipe from Keto Kitchen, which looks lovely - Spicy Cottage Pie. I like a good shepherd's pie, and this one sounds very tasty and a bit different from what I usually make.

Thank you for all those you who delurked last week!

Here's to a good week for all of us Flowers

Thanks @BIWI and hope you feel better soon Flowers

Thanks to you BIWI

SpottyBumPony · 27/02/2022 20:35

Thanks @BIWI. Reporting in after my Papa Johns incident. In the end I ate two slices of thin and crispy then ate the toppings off the other two and followed up with a Keto ice cream bar. I didn't feel carb heavy today, I planned to skip breakfast and after a busy morning it ended up being about 3pm before I ate. Had celery, cheese, pickled onions and a mini peppermint. Dinner was Lemon and Chorizo spaghetti with a roast chicken thigh.

SpottyBumPony · 27/02/2022 20:36

Courgette damn it, not spaghetti

DPuppy is very hard to photograph being black and moving at 80 mph but I will try to keep you updated with puppyporn

Andi2020 · 27/02/2022 20:50

FinallyHere · 27/02/2022 21:11

Sorry you are not feeling well @BIWI I hope you feel better soon.

venusandmars · 27/02/2022 22:04

Hope that an early night does the trick @BIWI

LostMyLastHatfulOfWords · 28/02/2022 00:17

Sorry you are feeling poorly BIWI - that man-flu is a dangerous thing and apparently it can only be cured with hours of watching football/rugby/motor-racing/or non-fiction Utube clips (and endless tea with sympathy). Yuck!

All that is bad enough but keep in mind that almost all household tasks can cause serious relapse (you will need the best protection from the slightest whiff of washing-up liquid, or even the click of a dishwasher door opening).

ditavonteesed · 28/02/2022 06:28

@BIWI hope your feeling a bit better this morning colds/man flu can suck the life out of you.
Happy to report back on track and a 4lb loss for me.
@SpottyBumPony cute puppy more pics definitely needed.
I have still been cleaning and organising my house like a woman possessed, it definitely helps me feel better and the bonus is the house looks lovely.
Lovely long walk planned with the dogs today after working all weekend. Need to do some food shopping as not much low carb stuff in.

SpottyBumPony · 28/02/2022 06:42

1lb off this week, 18 in total.

NSV, by belt is plaited rather than holes and I'm almost at the end of the plaited section

SummerSazz · 28/02/2022 08:46

Hope you feel better soon @BIWI.

Sts this week which is a shame as I was tracking for a 1-2lb loss but was derailed by a dinner party on sat night with wine. Ate low carb but too much 😳 and spent yesterday recovering and eating more (again low carb but too much....).

On it with the water today as I have my BUPA medical tomorrow and really wanted to have reached a stone off (2lb to go 😣).

Well done on your overall loss @SpottyBumPony and your NSV. New belt needed I think!

Fleecy · 28/02/2022 09:01

Hope you feel better today @BIWI.

DH and all three kids tested positive late last week. I have exactly the same symptoms but still negative this morning. All very strange. Still, as they're all home, I shan't go anywhere anyway.

MIL's funeral is on Friday, so everyone needs to be well by then.

I'm down this week - dropped the pound I gained last week, plus another. I'm okay with that. Another 3lb and I'll drop through a stone barrier which will be a massive psychological boost.

venusandmars · 28/02/2022 09:11

I'm up a pound, always disappointing on a Monday morning but I've been doing this long enough to understand fluctuations. It's the long term overall trend that counts. Plus the chance to eat delicious food.

B - smashed avocado on Schneider Brot, coffee with cream
L - boiled eggs and salad
D - left over home-made burger, stir-fried courgette, kale, shallot, red pepper

RagzRebooted · 28/02/2022 09:36

Morning all, thanks for new thread @BIWI and hope you feel better soon.
Not been posting as was really busy last week, then distracted by war etc...
Anyway, pleased to say 4.5lb off this week, as I'd gained a lb last week. 8.5lb off this BC (11.5lb total as I started early) so hoping I can really up the game the last few weeks (all the water!) and hit a stone off.

Good luck all and will try to post more this week.

Thank you for this most important information. I shall inform the rest of the household forthwith. Grin

Thanks all for the good wishes.

I wish I could say I was feeling better, but sadly I don't. Currently feel like I have barbed wire wrapped round my throat. The only upside of this is the need to drink all the water!

Ah @BIWI sorry to hear that, I find rewatching The Crown cures most ailments, eventually...

Another half pound off this week which takes me below the 10st mark (just), which is great- wasn't a great weekend foodwise and not even vaguely all the water drunk yesterday. I find myself muttering "BIWI will get her big stick out" if I'm not drinking my water so I should just get on and do it.

I'm off to France in 10 days time to stay with the inlaws- food is going to be tricky, MIL doesn't like anyone cooking in her kitchen, and FIL has parkinsons so I don't want to add any unnecessary stress. We will do some food shopping for them, but we find there isn't always the variety of vegetables that we are used to in the UK. So I will just have to do my best. I will fill my suitcase with packs of cauli rice and LC bread mix!

BestIsWest · 28/02/2022 10:11

Morning, well done all. Hope you feel better soon BIWI.
Nothing to report here. Resolution for this week. More water.

CrystalTits · 28/02/2022 10:22

Good morning to the KOKO crew. 1lb down this week, I think this is the shape of things to come so I'll need to stick with it for another couple of months to get to my target. Very happy to do so too! Have only had a couple of cravings this week for a bit of chocolate (had a tiny Lindor ball left over from advent calendar!) and some salty liquorice. Lunch today is chicken salad with some caesar dressing, and no idea what for dinner :)

Hope you get rid of the barbed wire soon @BIWI

Jezzballs2000 · 28/02/2022 11:21

Feel better soon @BIWI!

Gorgeous puppy @SpottyBumPony! If it helps, the founder of Papa Johns has come out saying that Joe Biden is behind the invasion of Ukraine to create a smoke screen to hide his domestic failings. It definitely put me off him 🤣.

I fell off the radar a bit last week but was pretty good in terms of BC. I'm 1LB down but I seem to be hovering around the same place for the past month, not really shifted that much. So I am getting strict! So no snacking and all the water and maybe some IF. I'm not sure I'm eating enough fat which I can't seem to get my head around. Too many years of slimming world and weight watchers etc.

Thank you @Baystard for your good advice last week. I avoided various temptations with them ringing in my ears!

Food today
B 3 x boiled eggs with butter
L Cauliflower cheese with chorizo*
D Thai chicken curry

  • I am obsessed with this- I roast some cauliflower and a bit of oil (maybe 180 for 15-20 mins) then chuck cream and some all over (maybe with chopped garlic) and then put some chorizo on top. The cream thickens and the chorizo gives it an amazing flavour.
CrystalTits · 28/02/2022 11:41

@Jezzballs2000 Sam Nixon posted this low carb cauliflower cheese this weekend on insta - I am slavering at the thought of it with chorizo

ShagMeRiggins · 28/02/2022 11:52

Morning (barely) all. Down 2lbs this week, wishing I had time to participate more in the threads, but keeping up, just.

BIWI rest and get better. You need your strength to wield the big stick.

All—drink your WATER WATER WATER today, right now.

We finally took all our Christmas decorations down and put them all away. Yesterday.

Happy end of Feb, and bring on a wind-free March (marquee took an absolute pasting).

BIWI · 28/02/2022 12:58

Just tested positive for Covid :(
