Morning all!

Another wet and dreary day. What happened to summer?!

Anyway, for its final outing, here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

It's not the end, of course - and I know many of you are keen to keep going until whenever the next Bootcamp starts. So post here for all the usual chat, banter, recipes, etc.

Thanks for the advice about veg. Hopefully I've done better today. Mega long day at work (7.40am-7pm) so had an afternoon snack which I don't usually do.

B two low carb sausages and hard boiled egg
L soup made with left over green veg cooked in butter, a stock pot and some cream. Also two slices of cheese and ham rolled up
Snack a few bits of spicy chicken from nursery tea
D burger and veg (green beans, broccoli, courgette and mushrooms) in a sauce with cream and Philadelphia

Breakfasts are a bit challenging as I'm not a morning person and have to leave at half past seven. At the weekend I have bacon, egg, mushrooms and spinach. I cook sausages and eggs in advance for other days but is it too much processed meat? I tried yogurt and berries but if I don't get my lunch break til half one I get too hungry.

You can make batches of mini soufflé / egg muffins which are easy to heat up 30 secs in the microwave. Generously grease a deep fill muffin tray then whip up eggs and a handful of grated cheeses with whatever you want (chopped toms / spinach / shallots / peppers / courgette etc) Pour the mix into the muffin cases then cook in the oven until they're all puffed up and gorgeous (10 minutes??). Whack em in the fridge grab when hungry.

Or the cheese almond muffins would be lovely for quick breakfasts with cream cheese and cucumber?

Bryonyshcmyony · 14/07/2021 22:27

Can someone link to the cheese and almond muffin recipe? Thank you

KateF · 14/07/2021 22:33

Thanks, the muffins sound good

It's on the vegetarian thread I think but I have a screenshot saved

Great thanks.

I'm having another stall and I'm not sure it's not the low carb bread. Shame as the rolls are really nice. Am going to take a deep breath and trust the process...!

I've started craving sweet things after meals. Looking at the apples and bananas as though they are crack lol

Pleaseandthankyou · 15/07/2021 09:16

I know how you feel @Bryonyshcmyony. I can remember absolutely craving an apple. I gave it and it was divine. Better craving an apple than a doughnut. You have lost quite a bit already. Just keep with it. I have the rolls for lunch as they are easy when you are working. I have got to be more careful at weekends . My weight is bouncing up and down but last weekend I bounced a bit more than usual. @KateF I usually have mashed boiled eggs for breakfast. When I am in a hurry I have scrambled eggs. Really quick. You can make them while the kettle is boiling.

How "bad" would some apple slices with peanut butter on be?

StuntNun · 15/07/2021 09:41

As a treat... not bad. Daily... bad.

Bryonyshcmyony · 15/07/2021 09:42

Just had a cheese muffin with peanut butter. So good!

StuntNun · 15/07/2021 09:44

On the cheese muffins recipe, I use 90g cheese and add black pepper and smoked paprika. It makes 6 muffins instead of 5 and they're much nicer IMHO. If you have any fresh oregano, it's even better than adding chives. When I eat them, I cut them in half and toast them under the grill then put loads of butter on.

Bryonyshcmyony · 15/07/2021 09:46

I left out the chives because I don't like them
Paprika sounds great

MrsKoala · 15/07/2021 09:51

Thanks for that recipe. I’m going to try it. Do you think it would work with lard instead of butter? Or half and half?

BIWI · 15/07/2021 10:03

@Bryonyshcmyony You're not in a stall unless you haven't lost any weight or inches for at least 3 weeks!

As we often say here, weight loss isn't linear. You can go for days without losing (at least as far as the scales are concerned) and suddenly drop 3lbs. It's referred to as a whoosh.

It's also the reason why we recommend taking your measurements, as even when the scales aren't showing any change, often you're still losing inches.

Probably! There's not much fat in them until you slather them with butter
Bryonyshcmyony · 15/07/2021 10:30

Disaster!

Dd3 tried one of the muffins and loved it. Now I'm going to have to share...

School girl error there, @Bryonyshcmyony Grin

I use the cheese and almond muffins instead of rolls. Last week I made a picnic, everyone else had rolls with chicken and roast peppers, I had the filling on my muffins. Delicious.

Curry for dinner tonight - a tomato masala one, a cauliflower, spinach and coconut one, and a keema curry with minced beef and ginger.

BIWI · 15/07/2021 12:07

I'd love to go and make some of those now! But isolation means I have to be in and out of the kitchen really quickly, which is a bit of a bugger.

She's eaten three. I had two. So they are gone!

StuntNun · 15/07/2021 14:58

Here's an interesting take on the five types of hunger.

Bryonyshcmyony · 15/07/2021 15:04

So, two cheese and almond muffins, one with butter one with peanut butter YUM thank god dd ate the others or I think I would have pigged them

L: stir fried chicken with spinach, broccoli and a bit of cauli rice, 2 eggs and some miso and soy

absolutely stuffed now

Am struggling a bit for supper ideas - dd wants salmon and mash, I hate making mash but she can sniff out the frozen stuff a mile away

MrsKoala · 15/07/2021 15:08

Do you need to keep the scones in the fridge? If I made some on Saturday would they last till Tuesday unrefridgerated?

venusandmars · 15/07/2021 16:07

I think it depends on the weather MrsKoala. I took some on our sailing trip in June. They were in a plastic bag, then in a tub, but not in a fridge between Sunday and Friday. They were fine but it was Scottish summer weather, so not hot!

MrsKoala · 15/07/2021 16:41

Yes, and I expect Legoland to be pretty hot considering it’s one of the levels of Hell.
