Week 3 - Leaving Lockdown Bootcamp

As ever here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I rather suspect, given the confessions/visits by Cathy Twat, that a lot of Bootcampers aren't going to have much luck on the scales at the end of this week.

As I've warned, cheating really won't help - and this is a very unforgiving WOE. I have all my fingers and toes crossed that you will be lucky, and will see a good result on the scales, however. Or with the tape measure - or that you're fitting into your clothes better.

So now you have a choice

After the first two strict weeks of Bootcamp you can, if you wish, move on to Bootcamp Light. This means that you can re-introduce some fruit (mainly berries) and some nuts/seeds, and alcohol in moderation - and restricted to dry wine and clear spirits.

BUT

... you also need to remember/know that weeks 3 & 4 are notorious for seeing little or no weight loss - sometimes you may even see a slight gain.

So it's up to you if you want to relax things.

If you haven't been totally on plan over the last week, I strongly recommend that you stay on strict Bootcamp for another week

If you feel you're ready to move on, then you can go to full-on Bootcamp Light, or you could consider a hybrid - so strict Bootcamp during the week and then Bootcamp Light at the weekend.

Whatever your choice, I hope that week 3 is kind to you!

Please, please, please remember that this week/next week are our infamous 'Doldrums' and so don't be disappointed if you don't see any losses on the scales

This is also another good reason why you should be taking your measurements - the scales might not be moving, but your body shape may well be changing.

Anyway, whatever you decide, good luck! Flowers

Good morning folks, what an excellent loss @Timetobuckup, congratulations!

I’m 1lb up today, which isn’t surprising given I’m having the period from hell and feel so very bloated. It’ll drop back off again soon enough.

Food today

L. Omelette with ham and mushrooms
D. Chicken stir fry

Lots of water too

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 03/05/2021 08:03

Aw no worries @FusionChefGeoff & @BestIsWest (Seriously, the wait is the worst bit, what ever the result).

Thanks @Bestbees . So sorry to hear about your husband. I only say 'chronic' because 'incurable' makes it sound like I'm at deaths door, which I'm not. They can't cure mine, but it's not terminal either.

Lost nearly a pound a half this week. Woo hoo!

Lots of people need Thanks this week. Thinking of athelcat & listenlinda's poor finger.

Tickledtrout · 03/05/2021 08:27

@chattycatty yes I do. They're more chewy than normal bread and really filling so I am a fan. I also bought the bread mix which I use to make mini pizza bases. The loaf is sliced thinly and the slices are quite airy and burn quickly for make dry/make dry toast. You have to have fridge/ freezer space for whatever you order as it will sprout mould if left at room temperature- freeze if you can.
The porridge isn't really porridge.
I did buy some hot cross buns but they're in the freezer still. Haven't felt the urge tbh

ListenLinda · 03/05/2021 08:41

Miraculously stayed the same this week! Mind you the only off plan moment was the chinese last night. I didn’t have the Gin, I collapsed into bed very early.
Swelling on the finger is not too bad, waiting until 9 to phone insurance company about the ring.
Up and at them today after an early start, attempting to clean the house today with 4yo DD and 2yo DS about the place I suspect will not go well Grin

Catching up... So sorry to hear of the challenges so many are facing Flowers
Whistful at all these running tales. I usually run a few 10ks and halfs ( odd to write halves?) in a year but my knees are really not right at the moment. Arthritis and plica syndrome. Hoping a return to HRT and dropping the weight I've put on from not being able to run will help. Swam in a very cold lake yesterday. It's fun but I do miss running. Was easier to get into "the last fat wet suit left in decathlon" yesterday though. It zips from the top which is ridiculous and impossible to do independently. And probably accounts for why it hadn't sold. I gave a nice Orca one waiting for me when I lose some of my natural balast.
To those with heartburn. I think it can be part of this woe as your body adjusts but losing weight is also important. I suffer too a bit - coffee with cream doesn't help but it fills me in the morning nicely. The heartburn makes me cough which isn't great on the current climate. I'm not drinking alcohol but I think that's a trigger too. Of course you should talk to the GP about it
Off to buy yet more spinach and cabbage.

MrsBertBibby · 03/05/2021 08:52

Scales stayed below 14 again! 13 13. That's half a stone in 2 weeks so very pleased. Might try my suit trousers on to see how different they are from when I wore them last week.

Do the Lidl ones come in a large jar? I can only get a very small jar locally. If Lidl do a large jar I'll make a special trip.

WEEK 4 CHAT THREAD IS HERE

ElasticFirecracker · 03/05/2021 09:11

Cannot find a Week 4 thread.

Well as I may have predicted the spreadsheet show -2lbs. Which is a gain of 2lbs. It's not what I would like to have seen, but I am not at all surprised.

I've put on a lot of weight since Christmas, and I think my eating must have got way out of control. Because normally if I was putting on weight, I would just rein myself in a bit and it would go, but I've really not been able to manage that recently. Every time I stepped on the scales I seemed to put on another kg.

I will just keep on keeping on. To a certain extent even keeping my weight static is an achievement.

devoncreamtea · 03/05/2021 09:13

I remember you too, ilovecherries 😊
I’m so sorry to hear that you’re grieving. Flowers
Looking forward to chatting and hoping bc helps to get you back on your feet x

BIWI · 03/05/2021 09:19

Oh @AthelstaneTheUnready you do have a lot going on right now, don't you? Sad. Really well done for staying off the booze and fags. Star

Sorry, too, @colouringindoors and @ListenLinda that you're having difficult times Flowers

@ilovecherries - welcome back! Very sorry that you, too, have had such a hard time. Hopefully this WOE will help your recovery.

@Chattycatty welcome! Yes, I use the SLC bread and bread rolls, and I think they're fantastic. The only problem with them is the price. As far as I can see, it doesn't impact on my weight, so definitely give them a go. It's so great to be able to just knock up a quick sandwich at lunchtime after years of either going without or cheating!

@Bestbees

MIM - bootcamp. Which will probably kill me!

Then do you need The Big Stick?! Wink

Great progress @MrsBertBibby! Flowers Star

Right that's me caught up for the moment. We're off out for lunch today, at a nearby pub that has a covered, heated area in their garden - which means we can also see DS2, which will be lovely.

Then from tomorrow I have to deal with MIM, as I have been a bit remiss with my running. I was due to go out for my last C25K run on Saturday but didn't feel too great, and then yesterday I just couldn't be bothered Blush. But I will do it tomorrow when I will have no more excuses.

@Rayna37 that sounds amazing. Much as I love DH and the DCs it would be lovely to have a week to myself!

@Bestbees sounds like you needed to blow off a bit of steam!!

Had a good start to the bank holiday weekend. Spinning this morning followed by eggs. The kids are at a gymnastics camp so going to play badminton with DH (will get very badly beaten...) and then a quick swim and jacuzzi before we pick the kids up again. Should sleep tonight!!
