Week 3 - Leaving Lockdown Bootcamp

As ever here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I rather suspect, given the confessions/visits by Cathy Twat, that a lot of Bootcampers aren't going to have much luck on the scales at the end of this week.

As I've warned, cheating really won't help - and this is a very unforgiving WOE. I have all my fingers and toes crossed that you will be lucky, and will see a good result on the scales, however. Or with the tape measure - or that you're fitting into your clothes better.

So now you have a choice

After the first two strict weeks of Bootcamp you can, if you wish, move on to Bootcamp Light. This means that you can re-introduce some fruit (mainly berries) and some nuts/seeds, and alcohol in moderation - and restricted to dry wine and clear spirits.

BUT

... you also need to remember/know that weeks 3 & 4 are notorious for seeing little or no weight loss - sometimes you may even see a slight gain.

So it's up to you if you want to relax things.

If you haven't been totally on plan over the last week, I strongly recommend that you stay on strict Bootcamp for another week

If you feel you're ready to move on, then you can go to full-on Bootcamp Light, or you could consider a hybrid - so strict Bootcamp during the week and then Bootcamp Light at the weekend.

Whatever your choice, I hope that week 3 is kind to you!

Please, please, please remember that this week/next week are our infamous 'Doldrums' and so don't be disappointed if you don't see any losses on the scales

This is also another good reason why you should be taking your measurements - the scales might not be moving, but your body shape may well be changing.

Anyway, whatever you decide, good luck! Flowers

Today has been the icing on the cake of an absolutely shitty shitty week.
DS stent had slipped, so called the hospital ward and they sent us to LGI to see the surgeon. DS went absolutely beserk when he came in and I stood up to help restrain DS i knocked a heavy chair and trapped my hand between the bed and the chair... doing damage to my engagement ring 😭 (pic attached)
I am so so fed up. DS all fine the surgeon literally just pulled it back up. Chinese has been had. Gin is swiftly about the follow.

colouringindoors · 02/05/2021 18:47

moonswimmer loads of water now and a very strong coffee in the morning to get things moving? 😅

FinallyHere · 02/05/2021 18:47

@Moonswimmer ohh, I have first harvest asparagus envy. Enjoy.

other suggestions to stop the headaches

@Stokey

First thing to check for me would be how much water I'm drinking. If not the recommended amount then start there, catch up (sipping, rather than gulping) and see how it goes.

Water Tends to sort out most things for me on the WOE. Fingers crossed for you, too

To follow even...

colouringindoors · 02/05/2021 18:48

Linda that sounds seriously stressful 💐 enjoy the gin. Tomorrow is another day.

FinallyHere · 02/05/2021 18:49

@ListenLinda so sorry. Hope the DS is sorted snd the ring can be mended ok.

ListenLinda · 02/05/2021 18:55

I hope so too. Absolutely gutted about it. I’ll probably have to go through house insurance as the band is all bent too.

colouringindoors · 02/05/2021 19:03

Is your finger ok???

ListenLinda · 02/05/2021 19:04

@colouringindoors bruised and swollen from the impact. Thankfully the ring was off before it started swelling.
By the time I got out of the hospital I realised I hadn’t even a single thing all day, didnt feel hungry until leaving the hospital.
@Random789 so much of your post resonates with me. I even try to lie to myself...
Me too. Loving your work
@Random789

colouringindoors · 02/05/2021 19:10

Linda well done for getting the ring off quickly! too late for iced finger?!

AthelstaneTheUnready · 02/05/2021 19:14

Ouch, Linda. Thank goodness both DS fixed, and you found the stone. Hopefully without too much scrabbling and weeping behind furniture.

Have not been around much for a few days, AthelCat needing a lot of time, but not really improving as much as I'd hoped. Just found out my mother is in the middle of tests for lumps in pancreas and liver that shouldn't be there, which was a bit of a shock. Praying it's not the obvious.

So not feeling very chatty atm, but adamant about sticking to the WOE, and staying off the booze. It is so much easier to cope with emotions without the mood/sugar swings of too many carbs, and the generalised anxiety that comes with wine.

Timetobuckup · 02/05/2021 19:20

@AthelstaneTheUnready
That is a lot, everything crossed that your Mum just has some weird lumpy nonsense that is no bother!

I do agree about the lack of swinging emotions. I wouldn't have believed how good it feels without doing it myself.

A cuddle and a lovely plate of tuna for athelcat.

ListenLinda · 02/05/2021 19:24

@colouringindoors the lovely nurses got me a cold compress :) i’ll keep an eye on it.

Tomorrow is a new day!

colouringindoors · 02/05/2021 19:27

Athelstane really hope it's not that, and that cat improves soon.

I have wine. Weirdly ds improving last week seems to have brought back a lot of very vivid, awful memories of all the shit I have had to go through to get where we are now. And today it's been overwhelming.

Bless you Grin tuna is about the only thing she'll touch a micro-portion of at the moment. And only off fingers, which makes getting a sufficient amount into her impossible.

But yes, it does feel very different without fags and booze mucking up the heart rate/mind, and carbs mucking up the blood sugar/mind. I previously would feel frantic in times of high stress, but currently feel a bit more... transparent. As though the emotions move through me, rather than pinning me down.

And THAT is what happens to your woo-ometer, when you spend every day being brainwashed listening to Adriene and her yoga. Confused Grin Confused

Oh, full sympathy to you Flowers. The slight mental relaxation after strain can be quite devastating.
devoncreamtea · 02/05/2021 19:34

Oh Linda Flowers for you. What an absolutely crappy time you’ve had. Hope DS is feeling ok. Enjoy your wine.

colouringindoors · 02/05/2021 19:34

Athelstane that is exactly it. I've been fighting for ds to get the specialist treatment/support he so desperately needs for 2.5+ years. Now he has it, and is improving, and I am currently disabled as a result of caring for him, my head is feeling f$%ked.

ilovecherries · 02/05/2021 19:43

Hi there, I’m jumping back in in the morning. I lost nearly 6 stone on BC 4 years ago, it was a miracle and I’m eternally grateful. Low carbed without any problem and maintained till covid hit. The last 12 months have been hell on earth though for various reasons and while I’m actually lighter than I’ve ever been - the grief diet does that apparently - I live on toast and breakfast cereal and I feel seriously crap. Carbs do just not agree with me any more (if they ever did!) but at the moment they’ve been all I feel I can eat without throwing up. So I don’t want to lose weight this time, but I DO want to get back on a woe that made me feel healthy as one small step to getting back to me. I won’t do my weight and I expect that I will gain a little bit once I start eating properly again but I’m looking forward to taking some small steps to recovery. Looking forward to getting to know you all.

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 02/05/2021 19:45

@ListenLinda, hopefully it’s easily reparable and DS is feeling better.

@AthelstaneTheUnready that’s really hard, try not to worry too much unless you need to, it could be nothing serious. Hugs to Athelcat mine preferred mackerel or sardines to tuna, might be worth a try?

@colouringindoors it’s bloody hard to relax when you’ve been fighting for so long. Nice long bubble bath, good book and (ahem) Wine?

AthelstaneTheUnready · 02/05/2021 19:47

@ilovecherries, it is good to see you. You were absolutely an inspiration for me. Really sorry to hear you've had such a rough time Flowers

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 02/05/2021 19:49

Flowers and welcome to @ilovecherries (I do too Grin)

This WOE is so good for you in general, I’m sorry you’ve had a terrible year and hope this helps you physically and mentally.

ilovecherries · 02/05/2021 19:51

Thanks Athelstane. Lovely to be here again, and very nice to be remembered 💕.

ilovecherries · 02/05/2021 19:53

beery, I should really change it to ilovecheese 🤣
