Week 3 - Leaving Lockdown Bootcamp

As ever here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I rather suspect, given the confessions/visits by Cathy Twat, that a lot of Bootcampers aren't going to have much luck on the scales at the end of this week.

As I've warned, cheating really won't help - and this is a very unforgiving WOE. I have all my fingers and toes crossed that you will be lucky, and will see a good result on the scales, however. Or with the tape measure - or that you're fitting into your clothes better.

So now you have a choice

After the first two strict weeks of Bootcamp you can, if you wish, move on to Bootcamp Light. This means that you can re-introduce some fruit (mainly berries) and some nuts/seeds, and alcohol in moderation - and restricted to dry wine and clear spirits.

BUT

... you also need to remember/know that weeks 3 & 4 are notorious for seeing little or no weight loss - sometimes you may even see a slight gain.

So it's up to you if you want to relax things.

If you haven't been totally on plan over the last week, I strongly recommend that you stay on strict Bootcamp for another week

If you feel you're ready to move on, then you can go to full-on Bootcamp Light, or you could consider a hybrid - so strict Bootcamp during the week and then Bootcamp Light at the weekend.

Whatever your choice, I hope that week 3 is kind to you!

Please, please, please remember that this week/next week are our infamous 'Doldrums' and so don't be disappointed if you don't see any losses on the scales

This is also another good reason why you should be taking your measurements - the scales might not be moving, but your body shape may well be changing.

Anyway, whatever you decide, good luck! Flowers

@ZiggZagg thinking of you, so sorry for your loss.

I'm going to weigh tomorrow as I have post nights bloat and experience tells me I'll be up and then back again tomorrow.

Jellycatspyjamas · 26/04/2021 07:18

Good morning everyone, nice to see some good losses already. I’m 2lbs down this morning which gives me a loss so far of 10lbs since I started back on boot camp 9 weeks ago and includes the Easter break. I’m very happy with that.

Food today

B Greek yoghurt
L omelette with cheese and mushrooms and salad
D. Something with chicken but not sure what yet.

Random789 · 26/04/2021 07:22

That South African melktert sounds so very delicious, prettybird. I'm really looking forward to be able in future to sample ladylike amounts of exquisite treats like that without going into a carby tailspin of cravings for more.

Congratulations to eveyone for the weight losses posted so far. I'm going to weigh myself at the gym later.

Makegoodchoices · 26/04/2021 07:22

Happy with loss for the week, my Xmas/lockdown pounds are now gone. Next I have to work on the weight that’s been hanging around a bit longer!

I think I’m going to do the hybrid of Bootcamp lite only at weekends.
I’m going to add a bit of exercise this week. Mostly Pilates/toning but also up the step count.

B: Greek yog
L: prawn salad
D: pork carnitas with salad

Bestbees · 26/04/2021 07:22

Well done to those with losses. I am 1/2lb down which is fine for me. Thank you for the new thread and the reminders @BIWI it is much harder now we have more freedom!

Plan for today:
L green buttery soup, sausage.
Dinner left over lamb, baba ganoush, salad, slaw. Greek yog.

Focus for this week: no snacking. Anyone up for a snack free challenge just Monday to Friday?

PineappleSunglasses · 26/04/2021 07:23

1.25 lbs off for me, relatively happy with this since I didnt have a gap between boot camps. Wish I could join the 5ft2 club but I'm 5ft1 and a half! Means I've lost almost 25lbs and I still have another 20 to go to reach my goal.

Hope everyone has a great week!

50FootWave · 26/04/2021 07:35

One off for me which is great, as not much to go now.

Cactusowl · 26/04/2021 07:35

I lost a pb this week but did have 2 days where I ate all the carbs. Got back on it and should be greatful not to have a gain!

TheHoover · 26/04/2021 07:38

3lb off for me, crashing through the 13st barrier into the 12s (just 3 more vanity stones to go Grin)

Well done on everyone else’s losses.

Thanks for gorgeous lamb pic little owl

Staying strict BC this week. Good look everyone - it’s KOKO time.

VeryLittleOwl · 26/04/2021 07:39

Bah, DH says I had my bit of cardboard wonky, I'm 5'5".

Figrus2 · 26/04/2021 07:45

1.5lbs lost. I wasn't great on the water. I had loads of places to go and couldn't risk needing to pee. I also had wine because... hot weather n fire pits... I was good on the food. Struggling for snack ideas. (Not meat dishes) . I have baby beds but am getting sick of them. I used to have oat cakes.

Random789 · 26/04/2021 07:45

I think I'll stay on strict bootcamp for now, as I don't really have any urge for fruit and alcohol -- the only two extra things that we are allowed to dabble in this week. I guess nuts and nut butter are the food types I will enjoy reintroducing when they become allowed, but actually I feel safer having them forbidden for now as they are hard to keep to reasonable portions.

I bought a 100% chocolate bar yesterday, which I willuse for treats this week. Am thinking of dipping it in cream, as otherwise it just tastes like compressed cocoa powder.

Rshard · 26/04/2021 07:51

Morning everyone

Well done to all the losers, 1lb of here which I’m happy with.

Sympathies linda from a terrible sleeper.

I’m up for a snack free week bestbees, will help me with my other challenge for this week which is to reduce the cheese a bit. Which will be hard because I love it.

I think I’m going to stay on full boot camp this week.

Good luck everyone!

Rshard · 26/04/2021 07:52

Of course that should be off, not off - Hmm

Jollyholibobs · 26/04/2021 07:54

@Bestbees I’m up for a snack free challenge! I really need it.
Well done everyone recording great losses this morning.
I’ve had a very bad few weeks and put on 7lbs. I had relaxed a bit as I had decided I was at the right weight. Bought lots of lovely clothes too. Maintenance is not easy. I have never succeeded in my life before. I am 57 and 5ft 3.5”. And have gained and lost the same 2st every year or so! It’s not the weight that makes me feel bad it’s the disordered out of control eating. This WOE helps avoid the cravings and binge eating but as BIWI keeps saying it is unforgiving. I don’t think I can afford to relax at all or it triggers. I have not been eating well since Easter. So it’s going to be a tough week but I have to get back on the wagon. Not sure if I need to be counting calories as I am so close to target.

B usual black coffee- long term 16:8
L green soup with Parmesan. Greek yoghurt
D prawn and avocado salad with Mayo . Probably more Greek yoghurt.

Thinnerlikeachickendinner · 26/04/2021 07:56

Well done all on your losses!

I am exactly the same! But upping water, reducing dairy and hoping for a post-period whoosh.

Very jealous of the pp who has bees!!!!

Thinnerlikeachickendinner · 26/04/2021 07:59

Sorry exactly the same at 160.

No major cheats but a couple of minor ones - cocoa made with one tsp of some kind of natural sweetener similar to sweetener. I think this week I’ll graduate to unsweetened cocoa with cream rather than a dash of milk.

Best thing I ate this week was a grilled halloumi grilled avocado and grilled cherry tomatoes with olive oil and vinegar and salt added to the pan YUM although too many tomatoes may have been too carby?

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 26/04/2021 08:00

Forgot to weigh in this morning so will do that tomorrow but not hopeful, sorry @BIWI there was some cheating over the weekend. Ran a 5K for charity without training for it, then did a whole heap load of gardening including lugging concrete posts about, and my legs are a painful mess of soreness. I ate KfC to compensate for the pain 🤭

On the plus side I took measurements yesterday and they've all gone down. Total of 32 inches off so far since last September

StuntNun · 26/04/2021 08:00

@OnceUponAMidnightBeery you should only need to take Ibuprofen for the first few heavy days of your period. If you feel that you need it for longer then it might be worth consulting your GP as there are other medications that might be helpful in that case such as tranexamic acid. On the Smartwater question, it's a marketing ploy and doesn't contain enough electrolytes. Mineral waters are the same - they contain more electrolytes than tap water but not sufficient.

Apileofballyhoo I have a good crustless quiche recipe; I'll look forward it after the school run and stick it on the recipe thread.

The Monday to Friday snack free challenge is a great idea Bestbees I'm in!

I forgot to weigh in today which is not like me!

AthelstaneTheUnready · 26/04/2021 08:04

Fixed it @VeryLittleOwl!

cheeseisthebest · 26/04/2021 08:05

Morning everyone not weighed yet today but my lowest this week was 138lb, 9st 12 so will go with that. Going away next weekend for a few nights, really looking forward to it and determined to stay on plan.
Will probably mostly stay on strict bootcamp l, I don't need nuts, might have a few berries. I'm OK not having alcohol.

venusandmars · 26/04/2021 08:10

Good to see some nice steady losses appearing on the spreadsheet.

STS (stayed the same) but now that the first 2 weeks are over I am returning to my more usual 16:8 eating. I'm staying with strict bootcamp whenever I can over the next 2 weeks but with a lot going on there might be some times when bc lite is the only choice.

Today I've got lunch out with a friend (will have the 'dirty skinny burger' which comes with crispy pancetta and cheese, and avocado instead of a bun, and salad instead of chips), tomorrow I've got a work meeting which will include lunch (but French place with good menu choices) followed by dh's retirement celebration in a pub (terrible food choices so I'll nibble a couple of snacks dishes, and I'm driving so no temptation there. Wednesday is dh's birthday, but I'm in charge of the food so it'll all be on plan, except a few bc lite raspberries. Then Thursday we're off on holiday. Mix of self-catering in our campervan, a couple of meals out where I can make good choices and one meal that I'm not in control of at all, and will just have to eat round whatever is available.

I might not be around to post very much, particularly when we're on the remote islands with possible not much internet. However, I'll be reading whenever I can. Won't be posting on the spreadsheet next week as won't have access to scales.

So food today:
B - coffee
L - burger, salad, avocado
D - moussaka with spinach and courgettes

Doilooklikeatourist · 26/04/2021 08:27

Stayed the same , which is more than I deserve after the incident with the Jersey Royals , and we have a new fire pit on our new lockdown homemade patio , lit the fire pit for the first time and sat out on Saturday evening stargazing ( and wine drinking ) @Figrus2 it’s a lethal combination 😀
Going out ( proper out to a pub , in Wales , so first day we’re able too )
It’s a scampi n chips type pub , so we’ll see what’s the best choice
Another glorious day ( thankfully )

prettybird · 26/04/2021 08:28

@Random789 ; you are allowed to have nuts/nut butter/ground nuts and seeds now in moderation Confused

I tend to move onto Boot Camp light with the odd berry and some nuts (can make the fab almond based muffins now Smile) but only have wine at the weekends.

Orcagirl · 26/04/2021 08:31

Well done on the losses guys.

3lbs off for me this week which I’m super happy with. I can feel a smidge of difference in my jeans too, very motivating Grin
