Oh but day 4 ticked off too! Planning on going to see my Nan tomorrow (lives alone in sheltered accomodation) and will walk to get some extra in Smile

For anyone who might still have doubts about drinking the water (not the Kool-Aid; we are not a cult or group or body trying to turn anyone—it’s all up to you), please understand that the water is important cause of science and shit. Grin

It’s not there to fill you up so you don’t eat. Again and again on Bootcamp you are encouraged to eat proper food and full meals.

It’s not there as a substitute for food, it’s there because of glycogen stores and science and shit. Grin again.

It’s also important to note that some of our water comes from the food we eat, and to me, that counts.

But the one thing I’ve learned in years of Bootcamp is how important WATER is.

Now, you might ask yourselves why people in countries with poor water supply manage to be slim and trim and incredibly gorgeous. The answer is, I don’t know.

What I do know is that in my Western world the water makes a massive difference to weight loss, which is what I’m currently striving for.

Only two stones to go. Whoop whoop!!! Mwah!

I found the headache reminded me that I'd been giving my body stuff it didn't want almost like a detox.

Yes, that’s my thinking too - I had been eating so much sugar it’s embarrassing and I think just stopping has shocked my system a bit and I know it’ll pass. What did for me last time was working away from home a lot, it’s too easy to slip back into carby food when you’re eating out 3/4 times a week 3 meals a day but I remember when I got past the settling in stage I felt so much better for really limiting carbs so I’m hopeful and not do much determine - because this way of eating suits me well - but clear that this is the way forward for me.

It’s good to hear how well others are doing, and the struggles too.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 04/03/2021 20:40

Shag, have you been... er... drinking anything other than water tonight...?

AthelstaneTheUnready · 04/03/2021 20:41

I have been drinking all the water, and then some, all week. Today, I have mostly been weeing out all the water from this week.

And a big welcome, lurkers! Grin

ZiggZagg · 04/03/2021 20:42

Evening campers!

Dad continues to improve, have spoken to him and the hospital now have a video chat facility, he looks so much better!

Honestly I have so much appreciation for our NHS, they have saved his life 4 times now and kept him with us. He's my absolute king, my best friend, dreading the day I do lose him Sad

My food has not been great to be honest, I'm still quite poorly with an ear infection and haven't been arsed to cook, although I have been fasting.

Today I just had dinner of steak and buttered cabbage, with Greek yoghurt and peanut butter for afters.

Need to work on my water Smile

Ninkanink · 04/03/2021 20:44

Hey all! 🌷 just popping in quickly to say KOKO and good luck with the rest of BC! If I don’t turn up for the next couple of weeks or so (or beyond) it’s because I’ll have fallen foul of certain constraints, and will have earnt what’s called 3 strikes.

At a certain point a stand has to be made and I’ve reached it.

Sorry, being rather vague I suppose. In any case, I wish you all well!

(If I turn up in the next few days then it’ll be due to not having fallen foul!🤞)

AthelstaneTheUnready · 04/03/2021 20:51

Has EVERYONE been drinking tonight?!!

Ninkanink · 04/03/2021 20:52

No drinking yet but that’s my plan for the rest of this evening.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 04/03/2021 20:52

That's great news, Zigg Flowers

AthelstaneTheUnready · 04/03/2021 20:54

@Ninkanink

No drinking yet but that’s my plan for the rest of this evening.
Well, I wish you well in your mysterious endeavour / punishment / ban / holiday Grin
Ninkanink · 04/03/2021 20:55

😆 👍

cheeseisthebest · 04/03/2021 20:57

Hi everyone!
Just reading everyones news, listenlinda hope you feel better tomorrow.

Today I've had 3 slices low carb bread with boiled eggs and one slice cream cheese and marmite.
For tea, chicken breasts with chorizo, peppers, onion, courgette and green beans on the side served with lots of sour cream.

cheeseisthebest · 04/03/2021 20:58

No dark choc tonight!!!
Just planning my shopping. Any ideas?

FusionChefGeoff · 04/03/2021 21:03

@Ninkanink - I'm guessing FWR? it's tough over there at the moment isn't it! If you survive you're doing well!!!

Nevertheless she persisted..!!

Ninkanink · 04/03/2021 21:07

I have that on the front of the notebook by my side! 😊

Last time they threatened me with a ban (two strikes, iirc) I left of my own accord, for about six months. I get that they’re between a rock and a hard place but at the moment people are taking the absolute piss and I’m not going to sit and take it like a handmaiden.

Sulusu · 04/03/2021 21:10

Well done to everyone sticking bootcamp out Smile

Wee update on me after my heart palpitations, my ECG and bloods came back fine, which is a relief. Palpitations have also subsided since I upped my carbs so I think it was potentially diet linked. So very low carb is not for me. I'm still low-ish carb and have lost 2kgs so far, I will take that!

I'm not doing it strictly anymore but I'm chuffed I have had zero sugar for weeks now. No crisps no carby junk food at all, and I feel it's maintainable... at least until Easter. I might need to look into a cheese Easter egg instead Grin

Jollyholibobs · 04/03/2021 21:17

@Oneborneverydecade thanks I think I’m keeping it actually but your point is a good one regarding other dresses. Yes it’s a sliding wall and yes at target hence the clear out which is quite a mark of conviction not to put it on again which with the WOE seems doable.

@OverweightPidgeon the cardigan is from Boden but several years ago, maybe 10. Works well with plain black.

@venusandmars thank you!

@ditavonteesed well done great progress.

Today’s challenge remains incomplete still to find an item to bin or donate....

Well done on all the exercise challenges everyone. I am having a rest day today to let a twinge in my knee have a chance.

Jollyholibobs · 04/03/2021 21:29

@ZiggZagg good news on DF I hope you feel better yourself soon.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 04/03/2021 21:30

@ShagMeRiggins thank you for the water reminder. I'm slipping in that front!

@ZiggZagg I'm SO glad your dad seems to be on the mend

@Ninkanink solidarity 💪. I've hidden all those threads. I just can't take it at the moment.

@Sulusu I'm glad your ECG was reassuring.

I've been pissing about on the thread where you suggest a tv show, with a rhyming presenter. My favourite so far was 'In the Night Garden with Osama Bin Laden' Grin

Night all

FusionChefGeoff · 04/03/2021 21:37

Great day today - did a HIIT / strength workout even though it was my challenge rest day

Thanks to @BIWI advice on the Spanish chicken casserole it was incredible!! As well as bacon and chorizo fat I got loads of extra butter and oil on with frying the veg and chicken and the sprinkle of cheese and large dollop of sour cream took it into another dimension!!

I feel I should contribute to the recipe thread as I got so much from it - how do I do that - just post straight onto it?

B: slice ham, wedge of cheese
L: hot smoked salmon, avocado, homemade coleslaw, salad, hm vinaigrette, beansprouts (won't be repeating that last bit of the experiment!)
D: Spanish chicken casserole, griddled aubergines, buttered cabbage and green beans
Greek yoghurt (too much - boredom greed Blush)

Not as much water as usual as was on 2 hr zoom marathon and didn't top up but still did 2l water and another 1.5l in herbal tea.

venusandmars · 04/03/2021 21:46

@Ninkanink very intrigued and had to google FWR... "Foundation for Water Research" apparently, which fits well with this evening's theme of drinking all the water Grin

@Sulusu it's Easter EGG so have it boiled and mashed with butter, or fried with some crispy bacon and mushrooms, or poached with smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce. Who wants nasty, cheap, chocolate?

cheeseisthebest · 04/03/2021 21:54

FWR?

Ninkanink · 04/03/2021 22:03

@MilesJuppIsMyBitch 🌻🌻🌻 sunflowers love the sunlight. And spring is on its way.

Sorry everyone for being vague. It’s not a big secret or anything. I just didn’t want to bring politics into this lovely group. And I didn’t want to look like I’d just not bothered to show up for the last three weeks of bc. Hopefully I’ll still be able to post! But for tonight I’m going to have some wine and hopefully a good sleep. Last night I dreamt I was living in Russia during the Cold War. Not surprising really...
