Thanks @BIWI according to my surgeon the meds and loosing weight as are important as each other which isn't particularly helpful! I think I may have also got a bowel impaction again as my senna was late from the pharmacy and my bowel doesn't work with out it. I also use an irrigation system everyday but if, ahem, things aren't being pushed through, it only clears what the water can reach. I'm slowly going up each day on the scales and I'm being good so presume it's that. Not looking forward to that shifting. History tells me it's unpleasant, however at least I'll be lighter at the end of it.. 😁

NotwatchingSpooks · 04/03/2021 12:59

prettybird so glad to help 😀 , we can do this . We can’t have Biwis big stick 😂

Oneborneverydecade · 04/03/2021 13:04

Sorry to hear it's unpleasant @ChristMyArse hopefully there's a sense of relief afterwards!

Not planning anything to sabotage my 3lb lose @BIWI but trying to be realistic. This mornings weight followed a 38 hour fast.

I'm impressed you were able to skip to week 2. My week 1 run 2 is today and I'm slightly dreading it. I have done my Jillian M workout, skincare and vitamins though

cheeseisthebest · 04/03/2021 13:30

Thanks BIWI!
I could do with you sorting the rest of my life too, you would be an awesome life coach!

BustleInYourHedgerow · 04/03/2021 13:42

Notwatchingspooks I have found that egg tip really helpful too.

Christmases your poor arse! I've been suffering a bit in that department too. And can't let it go further as then it cases a haemorrhoid flare up. Nice. I got a linseed mix thing in Lidl that should help. I'm eating a lot of green veg but I still need more assistance. Its called super seed mix, in a yellow pack. It's got 6.2 g of fat and .8g of carbs per 15g. So I'm going to add it to yoghurt and see how I go.

We had Mexican takeaway last night and it was delicious. I had a burrito box, which was the burrito fulling without the wrap and lots of salad . I opted for the chicken and I was glad as I tasted some of DS's beef that he hadn't finished and the sauce was so sweet! I couldn't believe how sweet it tasted so my tastebuds must be getting used to no sugar. I also avoided the tortilla chips which is a miracle and a first.

I've notice recently that I have a huge reduction in my appetite too. I'm unable to finish meals which is unheard of for me. And very little cravings, more a fleeting thought that I would like some crisps or ice cream but I don't have to think about it and it passes. Before it would have been an overwhelming urge to eat junk or toast. I feel like sticking to this plan will actually work for me.

Jollyholibobs · 04/03/2021 13:51

@BustleInYourHedgerow
Good to hear such positive feedback and NSV in relation to cravings and sweet tooth. That is as much a benefit for me as the weight loss.

Jollyholibobs · 04/03/2021 13:52

@ChristMyArse poor you. Flowers

Jollyholibobs · 04/03/2021 13:56

@Oneborneverydecade thanks for the encouragement. Photos as requested of today’s just ok dress. The Cardi makes it less dull it’s a keeper. The dress however is just ok and there may be another in another colour!

@Jollyholibobs I think the dress looks great on you, it's very chic, but if you have dresses you prefer it makes sense to pass it on. Are you near to target? Your house looks fab, is that a sliding wall? #hearteyeemoji

venusandmars · 04/03/2021 15:27

Great legs! @Jollyholibobs

I can now plank for 34 seconds. Go me!

Made the Delia chicken in spices last night. I wondered about the recipe a bit as it had a lot of cardamom in it, which can sometimes be a bit fragrant and overpowering. But it was lovely. Did it with chicken thighs. Made extra quantities to freeze, but enjoyed it so much that we're having it cold with salad tonight.

OverweightPidgeon · 04/03/2021 15:56

@Jollyholibobs I love that cardigan, can I ask where you got it from ?

ditavonteesed · 04/03/2021 16:50

I'm unlurking to say hi, I've been with you all from the start but I'm terrible at keeping up with threads so I didn't dare post as I don't want to seem rude.
I've been on nights so only just got up, last thing I ate was a lovely chicken salad about 1am and I'm still not hungry. The last 3 nights a have been hard as one of my colleagues is opening a cafe and keeps bringing cakes for people to give feed back on, but I was strong.
I've gone from a size 18/20 at the end of dec to a 14 now which I never thought was possible so I wanted to say thanks.

Im tired but I'm forcing myself to go out for a walk before I go into slob mode.
I have some brand new size 14 pjs which I shall put on with great happiness when I get back. I have also had to order some new work uniforms as my trousers are actually falling down which is quite amusing (I had to suggest that if we had an emergency I would end up with them round my ankles)

1stMrsF · 04/03/2021 17:04

@ditavonteesed well done on your amazing progress! Star for you!

ShagMeRiggins · 04/03/2021 17:24

dita you’re doing so well, go girl!

Ask your colleague to consider a low carb cake or some low carb scones or muffins as part of the café. And don’t tell any of the others it’s low carb when it’s brought in for taste testing.

I’d be very curious about the feedback, but also I believe there’s a real market out there for having at least one option satisfy this way of eating in a café, similar to vegetarian and vegan.

BIWI · 04/03/2021 17:39

Yay!

Hi all, great to see everyone's progress. Loss of 2.4lbs for me this, bringing me to 153lbs. I can't believe I've lost 13lbs since 18 Jan, I'm very pleased! Couldn't have done without the bootcamp.

I think where I'm falling short is on water, only managing 2 litres on weekdays (I'm at my desk and sip all day) but only managing 1 litre on weekends as not at my desk.

I seem to have naturally slipped into 2 meals per day (brunch at 1pm and dinner at 8pm).

Made some almond flour sponge cake at the weekend for DH's birthday, was very pleased with it (albeit it had no frosting). I had a regular slice (under 5g carb) and froze half the cake, I'm very surprised as pre-BC I would have eaten half the cake!

Jellycatspyjamas · 04/03/2021 17:53

I’m delurking to say well done @ditavonteesed - I lost 2st in a boot camp years ago and while my weight has gone up and down, it’s never gone back to where it was. I’m now a similar size 18/20 and started again on Monday to get down to a similar size 14, so your post is a huge encouragement - very well done.

At the moment my weight is the lowest it’s been in years so I’m hoping I’m starting from a good place to start low carb again - so far I’m enjoying the food though I’ve a bit of a headache tonight but I think that’s just the sugar making it’s way out of my system.

ditavonteesed · 04/03/2021 18:07

@pelosi I know what you mean about water, I'm really good when I'm at work but not so good at home. It does seem to make the biggest difference on the scales for me. I'm a daily weigher, I try not to be but I get so happy when the scales go down that I couldn't wait a week.

I never thought I would actually be able to successfully lose weight, have pcos and hypothyroid so has resigned myself to being overweight. I'm now determined to stick to this woe for life as I feel so much better, not just the weight loss but energy levels and I always had stomach ache and bloating before which has gone.

@Jellycatspyjamas go for it, it's such a lovely feeling. I found the headache reminded me that I'd been giving my body stuff it didn't want almost like a detox. Hope it goes soon.
Hi BIWI, thanks for doing this.

I asked the cafe lady what I'll be able to have at her cafe, she thinks probably a black coffee 😂

pelosi · 04/03/2021 18:15

@ditavonteesed I’m also a daily weigher! I tend to fluctuate so I think daily weighing gives me a better indication of the trend.

It’s interesting water makes the biggest difference for you. How many litres are you managing? You’ve done amazingly well.

I also had a lot of bloating with wheat but the doctors said it’s not coeliac. So much better now (most of the time).

ditavonteesed · 04/03/2021 18:19

When I'm at work I have at least 2 litres plus lots of black coffee. At home I probably only manage a litre but I have a lots of chamomile tea instead. Weirdly I never lose weight on work days but always seem to have a little whoosh the next morning. I think that's all the water. I think I should probably be drinking 3 litres but realistically it just doesn't happen.

pelosi · 04/03/2021 18:51

I’m the same! 2litres seems to be a mental block.
Although I do find I drink more when I can be bothered to slice up a lemon!

I will definitely try for 3 litres tomorrow.

Oneborneverydecade · 04/03/2021 18:58

Well done @ditavonteesed and @pelosi and hello @Jellycatspyjamas

DH made meatloaf with flgv for tea and it was hit with everyone - I think I can count on 2 fingers the number of meals everyone likes

I made the Diet Doctor flour less chocolate cake. I made 28 cupcakes so only 3.4g carbs per cake. They're v rich so one is enough and the rest can go in the freezer

Fasting tomorrow so may be awol

1stMrsF · 04/03/2021 19:04

Feeling proud as I just did an online workout. I signed up on Monday to online classes on demand to help with the doing something active everyday challenge, but this is the first one I've done. It was really hard and I had to do everything on the low, but I did it and it's a good start. Smile
L - chilli taco bowl, lots of salad, cheese, sour cream and guacamole on top
D - beef casserole and cabbage. Will put lots of butter on the cabbage to get that lovely butter melting into gravy taste without needing bread to dip the butter in!

I also agree that water is the thing that makes the biggest difference to me. I've got that 2lb off today and hoping for some more before Monday to take me downward again.

Howdidthathappen1 · 04/03/2021 19:16

@BIWI thanks - I definitely needed a talking to!
I'm not veggie as such but veer towards veg far more than meat so rely on cheese way too much - 3 x daily most days!!
Will trawl through recipe threads again for inspo

ListenLinda · 04/03/2021 19:43

Evening everyone. Been a horrendous work day, non stop calls and barely managed to do a single email between them.
Still suffering with the period, it’s the worst it’s been since i had the coil fitted. Darent have my usual cheeky weigh in mid week, think i’ll wait until Monday.
DH treating to a takeaway tonight so opted for the chicken and a salad and will swerve the rice again and hope for the best.
