Jollihollibobs that dress is very nice on you, really elegant. I'd never get rid of a black dress but if you're not happy with it, let it go!

Welcome dita, you've done so well.

I found myself struggling with water at the start, but I try to drink one glass when I wake up before I have my coffee, and 1 glass before each meal. One of the standard IKEA glasses is 300 ml, so that's 1.6l without trying too hard. I fill a 1l bottle and try to drink it throughout the day, I leave it on the kitchen island so I see it when I'm passing and drink some. I try to have one litre finished by lunchtime. And another litre by dinner. I build it into the daily routine and that helps.

L: chicken breast fried with leeks and mushrooms with some spinach. I added cream cheese and it was delicious but I actually couldn't finish it. So have leftovers for tomorrow!

D: Nigella chicken thigh and sausage tray bake (with lemon, mustard and sage ) I added baby corn to the tray bake and it was really nice. I didn't eat the sausages as they were very carby, couldn't find any that weren't in the supermarket. Also my purple sprouting broccoli that I planted 5 million years ago is finally ready, had some with butter and it was delicious.

Cup of tea with cream
Many waters
Stole a handful of peanuts from DS.

RagzReturnsRebooted · 04/03/2021 23:15

Salutes @Ninkanink hope you are still here tomorrow, but if not - thank you.

@ChristMyArse I think antibiotics can be quite bloating and with constipation on top that's almost certainly why you're not losing this week. Hope you get some movement soon!

Breakfast - creamy coffee
Lunch - 2 chicken burgers in a SLC roll with cheese, salad and lashings of mayo (forgot butter).
Dinner - DH's bolognese which was disappointing compared to last week's, so I had less of it and stirred in some cream cheese. Served on very buttered courgette.
Another creamy coffee.

Day 4 plank done and my toes kept slipping so I struggled. Will try barefoot or in trainers. Managed 3 days of the 3l of water but only at 2 today. Tried that electrolyte powder this afternoon and it wasn't good, made me feel a bit ill and put me off water. It's probably fine in something flavoured, though it was the 'mouthfeel' rather than the flavour that put me off. I'm fine with Zero tablets, so clearly this has a lot more electrolytes in. Or I didn't need them.

RagzReturnsRebooted · 04/03/2021 23:18

I've decided the answer to the water is a nice new bottle as my old one leaks so I've been reusing a 500ml throwaway one.
Amy recommendations? I think a 1l one would be good. DH has a nice metal one with a wide neck but I don't like drinking things I can't see, IYSWIM.

cheeseisthebest · 04/03/2021 23:48

A-ha!

Oneborneverydecade · 05/03/2021 06:21

I rate these @RagzReturnsRebooted but maybe not for you in you need to see what's inside?

MrsOmelette · 05/03/2021 06:34

Food shopping day for me today. I am not buying any cream! Or almonds.
I’m doing well without sweeteners, years ago when I did low carb I often had a bowl of sugar free jelly in the evenings but I’m now quite happy to stop eating at all after our (early as have toddlers) dinner. Can’t remember when I last used sweetener tbh, so that’s a positive. I am very tempted to put a SLC bread order in, the rolls and also maybe a hot cross bun. I adore hot cross buns.

AWryGiraffe · 05/03/2021 06:45

My SLC order came yesterday. The rolls were great, had one for lunch with some fake bacon and Mayo, and then a hot cross bun toasted with butter and cheese. Really nice and very filling.

ouchmyfeet · 05/03/2021 06:57

Mine came last week and I was very impressed. I've only had a roll so far but it was lovely (and very filling). Might have cheese in toast today as I haven't tried the sliced loaf yet. Very tempted by hot cross buns too as my DS has scoffed a packet of the real thing this week and they smell so delicious

StuntNun · 05/03/2021 07:00

I'm going to be in school full time for the next few weeks which I'm not looking forward to as I'm a volunteer and I previously only did one day a week so I'll not be around as much for the last few weeks. Well done in your battle against censorship Ninkanink it's really stepped up on here lately with all the attacks and mass reporting which is so frustrating considering this is the last social media site freely available. I know Spinster is safe but it always seems too insular.

Day 4 of my earring challenge were silver star studs. Today will be filigree silver heart earrings with a matching necklace.

Bestbees · 05/03/2021 07:27

Struggling to keep up here but posting when I can!

@Ninkanink respect to you. I don't post over there as it is too much for me, but me mum and sil are all very much on your side! My mum was taught by Dr David Bell if you know of him?

Really feel just settled in to this woe now so just koko.

Plan for today is fast until dinner which will be burgers with blue cheese, gherkins, mayo and celeriac chips.

Hurray for the weekend and the end of homeschooling!!

1stMrsF · 05/03/2021 07:38

@RagzReturnsRebooted I like my Camelbak Chute water bottle.

@StuntNun are you testing at school? My DDs are going in today and very anxious about it. Interestingly they are most worried about testing positive. Since they've hardly left the house for weeks that's the least of my worries! Will you get a school lunch? I find it a mixed bag eating low carb at school - there is certainly never enough fat!

@Bestbees I cannot tell you how happy I am that this is the last day of remote learning! I'm going into school today for a staff meeting and I can't wait to see everyone. I would go in for the whole day but DDs have to be at school at completely different time so the day is a logistical nightmare, but nice to be out and doing things (low expectations)

Will take leftover frittata for lunch and making salmon with stirfry veg for tea.

Have a nice day - looks like the ☀️ is out here.

StuntNun · 05/03/2021 07:47

1stMrsF the testing isn't too bad actually. The first time is the worst but we have students that have been tested six times now and it's a breeze for most. Some have an especially strong gag reflux and they still find it a little unpleasant. We've only had one child outright refuse. We've done hundreds of tests and no positives yet.

Pleaseandthankyou · 05/03/2021 07:51

I had put 1 pound on on Monday. 2.5 off today. That takes me into a new stone. Another 8 pounds takes me to a normal bmi. I am delighted as I am trying to maintain but am losing one pound per week. I don’t know how I am going to manage when restaurants and pubs open again. It is so much easier to control now . My alcohol consumption has really dropped. After a long stressful day I am having a tea pig instead of a glass of wine. My hot cross buns haven’t arrived yet. Hopefully today.

Bestbees · 05/03/2021 07:52

@1stMrsF I have been going in to work as a teacher this whole lock down (academywide decision) but because dh is vulnerable he has been at home, working, trying to homeschool and we have been fitting it in around everything not very successfully! Roll on monday!

Exercise challenge done Smile

ditavonteesed · 05/03/2021 07:54

@StuntNun are you doing the proper full tests? I thought it was just lateral flow tests in schools.

I have to do the proper tests and I nearly always make people throw up. I can't see kids tolerating it.
Well done to the teachers must be one hell of a week for you, good luck for next week. I am so relieved the kids are going back teen dd is desperate for some interaction.

I like chilli bottles for the water but again you can't see the water, I used to have a lovely litre see through bottle from Victoria secrets pink but I don't know if they still do them.

MrsOmelette · 05/03/2021 07:57

Well, I’m really pleased, after a couple of weeks of going up and down the same couple of pounds I’ve now lost properly again! So that’s 1 stone 4 pounds lost since Jan 8th, really pleased.

StuntNun · 05/03/2021 07:59

Diva no it's just the lateral flow tests. I think the swabbing procedure is the same as for the PCR tests though.

FusionChefGeoff · 05/03/2021 08:02

@RagzReturnsRebooted can you persuade someone to drink a large bottle of Fentimans for you?

I think their bottles are lovely so I have that plus a small glass constantly on the side and it's really easy to just top up every time I catch sight of it / boil the kettle etc

Ninkanink · 05/03/2021 09:34

I’m still here! 🌻🌻🌻

Thank you for the kind words and moral support, it’s much appreciated.

I get tired, but I never give up. My head might be bloody at times but it will remain unbowed.

BIWI · 05/03/2021 09:38

@FusionChefGeoff glad the meal was good! Just jump on the appropriate recipe thread and post it. Those threads are for anyone to add to. (The only thing to remember is that if it's a recipe from a book or particular website/chef, that you need to credit them).

@Bestbees please pass on my solidarity to the women in your family. Keep strong. There are many ways to fight the good fight (someone accidentally typed ‘food fight’ on a thread last night which really tickled me!😆) and women talking amongst themselves are a big part of it. Much respect goes to Dr David Bell. ❤️

Sorry for bringing it up here @BIWI.🌷

Dailyhandtowelwash · 05/03/2021 09:44

@Ninkanink all power to your elbow.

@ditavonteesed what an amazing achievement. Well done!

@Jollyholibobs love the dress, cardigan and your home

I've had another week where daily weighing suggests I am STS. Ah well.

Food yesterday:

Lunch: mushroom, spinach, boursin and green chili omelette with leftover pork chop. All liberally coated in butter.
Dinner: Chicken, chorizon, celeriac and tomato casserole with a small amount of cauliflower cheese

Food planned for today:
Dinner - creamy spicy scallops to start, and then goose breasts with crispy leeks

Quick question: this week our cookbook will be the Kerridge Dopamine Diet. I notice quite a few of his recipes contain small amounts of honey or sugar (not the ones we're planning) but are carb-counted recipes like that OK in maintenance or is it no sugar at all? I'm not fussed by eating outright sweet things but I do understand that some sweetness is necessary sometimes in savoury recipes.

I'm a bit Hmm about many of his recipes in that book, tbh. He uses a lot of highly processed foods (Bisto gravy granules for example) as well as artificial sweeteners - and then there's the sugar/honey thing! Personally, I'd take the view that if it's only a small amount of sugar/honey, I'd leave it out. If it needs a lot of it, then I'd avoid the recipe.

I lost a lot of respect for Tom Kerridge when he started pushing low calorie eating - on TV and in a later recipe book. So hypocritical when he lost his weight (11 stones I think?) by low carbing.

@Ninkanink I don't have a problem at all with you raising the issue here. It's something that should be talked about more widely, I think.
