@Oneborneverydecade

Pink Victoria sponge! Mmmm was that with strawberries?
The dumbbells are like gold dust or cost just as much!! Most sold out in Argos! You're lucky you've got your hubby to train you. I wish I had a free PT on demand Smile

kilojules · 03/03/2021 07:21

@Lyrata sorry you're down. Hope today's a better day! Dust off yesterday's fails and hopefully stick to plan today Daffodil

kilojules · 03/03/2021 07:22

@LostaraYil I want to make everything under the sun at the moment. Dreaming of food and goodies!
Well done on doing the shred. Haven’t done that for a while, need to restart. I started off with 1.5kg dumbbells and worked up to 5kg for some of the moves. Anything above head less than 3kg as would tire out half way. I am quite top heavy though so my upper body strength is better than lower.

@Dailyhandtowelwash @FusionChefGeoff

Adapted from this recipe just added some pumpkin seeds.

@nowlook

Christ not cheese!!!

Cheesus Christ Grin

@ZiggZagg I am so sorry to hear about Dh and DF. Pleased to hear DH is home - he has my total sympathy!! Wonderful news about DF too. I have everything crossed for you. Sending you love and a big cuddle.

@kilojules @nowlook @Ninkanink thanks for your well wishes yesterday. All went well and hope to have results soon.

I only had the one meal yesterday as my timings were totally thrown out. Managed the water though so that's a plus. KOKO.

ChristMyArse · 03/03/2021 07:38

Haha I meant to put "very good" under nowlooks quote..

Also meant to add how fab the cooking looked yesterday from kilojules and Nink. Not jealous at all... 😁

@Lyrata I hope you're feeling better today 😘

Jollyholibobs · 03/03/2021 07:46

@ZiggZagg glad this are picking up for both DF and DH. Look after yourself.Flowers

@Lyrata hope your feeling better today.

Whoever posted anchovies with eggs recipe inspired me to make a variant last night. Not a great hit here. But it all got eaten.

Wear it or bin it. Discard an item a day challenge is going well. Day 1 beautiful Toast skirt. But it is huge on me. Have put it in a pile for donations. DD may like it, Day 2 unworn Joules top which is neither my colour or style. Part of a Lookiero or stitch fix box from this time last year when I could not fit into my clothes. Cheaper to keep than send back due to the way the discounts work but it was what stopped me ordering from the again because it exactly fit the description of what I had told them I did not want. Day 3 sights set on trousers. Will probably end up wearing something I thought I’d bin.

Other challenge ought to be to avoid snacking. I’ll add that I think. My PT is doing a challenge for March but I do the things they have picked as challenges as matter of course. They are not exercise challenges. My Garmin told me my exercise was unproductive yesterday and that my VO2 max was going down. Not sure what that is about.

B black coffee
L avacado and Brie salad Greek yoghurt
D portobello mushroom’pizza’ (fast800 recipe) home made coleslaw.

Water.

ChristMyArse · 03/03/2021 07:47

@Jollyholibobs @MilesJuppIsMyBitch

I really appreciate your words after standoffgate

@FusionChefGeoff - my OH and DD (14) had a barney that escalated and there was 4 weeks of no talking, no being in the same room at the same time etc and it was awful. Was starting to think that it would always be that way and then all of a sudden OH just went in to her room and they made it up. It was totally unexpected but most welcome!

Basically I spent 4 weeks feeling sick and tearful and stuck in the middle. Thank god it's over!!!

Bestbees · 03/03/2021 07:57

Morning all.

Thanks for the recipe @kilojules

Exercise challenge day 3 done. Jamie oliver crispy lemon sole was meh. I liked the sole done under the grill but the rest was just not very interesting! In fact I left some (unheard of).

Plan for today - fast day, so one meal only. Will be tuna steak with a miso glaze, lots of stirfried veg in sesame oil and Greek yog with some keto granola.

@ZiggZagg glad to hear dh and dd are on the mend. Sounds like a very challenging day.

@ChristMyArse good luck for results.

@Jollyholibobs great challenge! A few years ago I did a project 333 thing which really helped me weed out what I did and didn't like. Now I have got into buying ebay/Facebook market place I seem to justify a lot more clothes!

ChristMyArse · 03/03/2021 08:03

Thank you @Bestbees I shall report back when I get them!

nowlook · 03/03/2021 08:13

I like the sound of your food today Jolly. I'm in a bit of an omelette rut, so may have something similar

Doilooklikeatourist · 03/03/2021 08:18

@RagzReturnsRebooted
I made this cake , it’s delicious and easy
Butter , eggs , chocolate ( store cupboard ingredients 👍)
www.dietdoctor.com/recipes/low-carb-chocolate-cake
I’ll make it again , probably in cup cakes , then I can put whipped cream and strawberries on top ( and freeze some without topping )
@ZiggZagg such good news for you , let’s hope DF makes a good and speedy recovery , and that DH does too

Dailyhandtowelwash · 03/03/2021 08:28

@ZiggZagg what a rollercoaster with your dad. I hope he carries on improving and your DH can get more comfortable. Another one who had them in pregnancy and they were appalling, so many sympathies.

@Doilooklikeatourist that cake looks wonderful.

Last night's Goan white fish curry had a delicious sauce but the fish itself was pretty tasteless - it was last minute so just grabbed something on sale in the supermarket but it didn't work. We need to give it a go with something firmer. We had samphire with it and I realise I have no idea of the carbiness or otherwise of it!

Today's dinner will be a return to pork - pork chop in mustard and caper sauce. I am going to try to have lunch too - need to eat more!

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 03/03/2021 09:17

@ZiggZagg I'm so pleased your DH is home, & that you've had some good news about your Dad

@Doilooklikeatourist you that cake looks epic! Will make at Easter to help me stay vaguely on track ⭐️

1stMrsF · 03/03/2021 09:48

Zigg I'm sorry you had such an awful day and I hope that today is better and continues to bring good news.

I like the idea of a wear it or bin challenge. I keep wimping out of trying on clothes because I want to wait until I've 'just lost a little bit more'. Back to work next week though, so will have to put on a dress and hope for the best.

Just went to rummage in the fridge. Totally failed to edit my Ocado order on the weekend and have been living out of the freezer (albeit topped up with an Abel & Cole veg box) and pickings are really getting slim, particularly for lunches.

L - Spinach & Feta frittata with ?? perhaps a tomato & cucumber chopped salad
D - Pork steaks with a creamy sauce (I am going to try out this new product and report back) with roasted celeriac chips and stir fried sprouts

venusandmars · 03/03/2021 10:09

1stMrsF I've got the opposite problem - too much food in the house. Plus a freezer that is stuffed full of soup and a few unidentified things where the labels have fallen off plus the challenge of my Brexit stockpile, which was of necessity laden with pulses.

Then there's the difficulty of using up all the more carby veg in the veg box. So today I made a huge pan of lentil, carrot and tomato soup for dh. He'll have to have it for lunch every day Grin I think I'm going to cancel my veg box for next week and we'll eat our way through the soup.

Food today:
B - coffee with cream, and a spoonful of dh's lentil soup I couldn't resist and of course I had to taste it for seasoning
L - (zoom lunch with friends) smoked salmon, cream cheese, cucumber, on protein rye bread (4g carb), coleslaw, salad. Then a few raspberries and cream
D - the Delia chicken and spices, which is marinating now. With cabbage and courgette 'rice'

I rubbed the marinade all over the chicken, then cleaned my hands in the washing up sink. Then carried on with soup making etc. Problem was that the marinade has loads of turmeric and by the time I emptied the water out, my lovely white Corian sink was stained yellow Shock. Impromptu clean of the kitchen required!

venusandmars · 03/03/2021 10:11

Note, next week we'll eat our way through the low carb veg soup in the freezer, not the carrot and lentil

prettybird · 03/03/2021 10:21

my lovely white Corian sink was stained yellow

In a past life, I was Product Manager of a product that ICI was launching to compete with Corian Smile (lots of initial problems with Du Pont claiming we were infringing their patent which we weren't ).

It's just as well that your sink is white, as the only solution to turmeric staining, which is the worst stainer, is to use Jif/Cif/other abrasive cleaner and rub it away you probably know this already Wink. Fortunately the ATH (alumina tri-hydrate- still remember after c30 years Grin) that fills the acrylic to make Corian is both relatively soft and is white itself.

Our problem was that we were also trying to develop darker colours to add to the range of our equivalent product - so any scouring as a result of staining was more obvious.

Dreamqueen · 03/03/2021 10:36

Checking in, day 3 of squat challenge done & day 2 of yoga. I'm definitely stiff this morning and patently very unfit.

Doilooklikeatourist thanks for chocolate cake recipe. I'm going to attemt it tomorrow. It's my birthday this weekend and am forwarding planning a compliant treat meal. So far it's chinese stlye roast duck, crispy belly pork, chinese veg & prawn stir fry. for the non B campers I'll add noodles and curry sauce.

Zigg glad to read that DH is home & DF is holding his own.

prettybird · 03/03/2021 11:07

Thanks to you, your dh and your df. Such a lot to cope with all at once.

Day 3 of my earring challenge. Old triple pearl earrings of my mum's.

Like Stuntnun I'm not doing an exercise challenge as I already exercise 5 times a week (4 x JM DVDs, 1 day Pilates).

I may add the Use It or Bin It to my challenge Grin

NotwatchingSpooks · 03/03/2021 11:21

Morning all, zigg what an awful shock to arrive home to, so glad there is brighter news from your updates and thank you for letting us know.

Flowers for all who are having tough times.

I managed to avoid the afternoon snacking, we could have it as an additional challenge prettybird and I are already on it. I’m thinking of giving myself a daily sticker 😀

stuntnun hope your survived the chops

christ hope your scans went okay and fingers crossed for the results.

I’ve managed 3 days of my bike challenge and upped my time to 14 mins, aiming for 30 by end of month, with a daily minimum of 10 mins.

Today
B Greek yogurt
L either eggs and salad or homemade soup
D chicken breasts in a mild curry sauce with flgv

3 litres of water, 1.2 drunk already

LittleMy77 · 03/03/2021 11:51

@Doilooklikeatourist that cake looks immense! Might give it a go this weekend :)

Doilooklikeatourist · 03/03/2021 11:58

@Dailyhandtowelwash @MilesJuppIsMyBitch @Dreamqueen @LittleMy77
The pic is of the cake just out of the oven , it does sink a bit as it cools

LittleMy77 · 03/03/2021 12:03

Currently debating whether I could add raspberries in it

And I also got sucked into the vortex of low carb pancakes on there - handy as DS is demanding them on the weekend and the other recipes I’d found were sad eggy affairs that made me want to cry Wink

OverweightPidgeon · 03/03/2021 12:08

Morning all , hope everyone is doing well. I’ve lost another two pounds! Honestly, I’m flabbergasted !
