Morning campers!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to confess all

We're half way through now. Hopefully by now we should all be getting used to a low carb way of eating, which will mean we should be fat-adapted.

I hope you've enjoyed the recipe challenges, and I really look forward to reading more recipes.

I especially hope that the challenge has lured the lurkers out! Please post your recipes!

And, of course, here's hoping that we all have a good week ahead

@venusandmars , we’re in Wales , heaven knows when we’ll be set firee
It’s as if Nicola and Mark Drip Drakeford compete to be slightly different from Boris , just because they can

@RagzReturnsRebooted , we’ve a cottage on Airbnb , we had a booking last night at about 7.30 to a family that stayed last year , we’ve a family booked who postponed from last years , but they’re from Belgium , so unsure about them , and also a bride who’s booked for her wedding guests ( poor thing has changed the date 3 times 🤞)
That’s 3 of the 6 weeks gone already
I’m sure there will be plenty of availability, maybe not on the coast ( we’re rural Carmarthenshire, so castles and gardens rather than the lovely beaches of Gower or Pembrokeshire)

After a fab spring day and another walk round the block , with an add on of a walk to the church , over 12, 000 steps it’s back to rain today
Today’s plan of meals
Brunch veg soup
Dinner chicken curry with cauli and spinach
Lots of water 💧

Morning, all. I'm feeling grim - not unlike a PP upthread (sorry, woolly head) with aches, exhaustion etc. I felt nauseous yesterday and couldn't eat, although drank litres of water (and barely weed) - scales show me half a pound up today, so thanks for that, universe!

I had put two pounds on yesterday but they have disappeared this morning. I made Keto rolls at the weekend. The recipes uses almond flour, coconut flour and psyllium husk. I had two over the weekend and my stomach has been growling and grumbling since. They were ok but I would love to find a replacement for a decent slice of sour dough.

Looks like its going to be a return to rainy weather here. I've got a walk with a friend planned so it'll be hood up and wellies on...

Brunch: creamy coffee, left over veg, fried eggs, fried mushrooms
D - inspired by someone's mention of curry, but I don't have time to cook it today, then remembered I've got some butter chicken in the freezer. Off to defrost that now. Will be served with whatever green veg come in the veg box.

It’s sunny here in London. Feels like spring. Sunrise itself was beautiful.

Breakfast today: creamy coffee, sous vide egg pots and kefir
Lunch: cauliflower soup
Dinner: cod, garlic butter samphire, roasted vegetables (aubergine, tomato, courgette, shallot)

Every time I resolve to reduce dairy, I end up looking back a week later and realising it’s sneaked back in under another guise. Oh well. I’ve still cut out the dark chocolate nibbling.

@Ninkanink you always sound like a fabulous and together woman! It's so common for our perception of ourselves to be utterly at odds with that of others. I'm glad you're feeling better. I totally identify with the spending to cheer one up - I'm trying to knock that on the head as am surrounded by face creams, little make up bags, necklaces that I don't need, or if I'm honest, really want.

Hooray for next boot camp. I have to say I have found this one very easy due to lack of social life!

Morning all,

Well done to everyone for their losses or for KOKO it’s really encouraging to see people aren’t giving up. I can’t believe it’s week 6 and I have barely thought of biscuits or crackers let alone gorged on any. I think this is a huge NSV for me.

Whoosh of -3lbs this week which I’ve been waiting for (half of it was week 3-5 gain) but I’m still pleased.

Have decided to reduce choc and processed foods and maybe a little less dairy (although that’s def still working progress).

Yesterday
L- prawns Mayo, avocado and Greek salad
D- chicken and mushrooms in a creamy pesto sauce served on courgetti from the chicken recipe thread

Today
L- last nights dinner plus some greens
D- lemon and pepper haddock with spring greens, broccoli and green beans in garlic oil

Water, water water and coffees with almond milk

Just saw that the seriously low carb rolls are unavailable on Amazon, so had a look on their website and justified the extortionate delivery charge by getting some brownies as well. Damn you Amazon - if I'd been able to get the rolls there, I'd never have thought about the brownies!
B today - fried eggs and bacon
D - I think chicken and mushrooms in a peppercorn sauce with courgette or roasted veg.
Will try to skip lunch.

Morning all, hope those feeling sad are feeling better today. I’ve lost my gain overnight, I am so hoping it may start to come off again after 3 weeks of gaining. Thank you also to those who have continued to reinforce that there is always a couple of weeks stall, it has helped me to not dive into foods that are not conducive to this woe .....

Thank you BIWI for the next bootcamp date. After looking at the lack of availability of uk breaks I booked a week in Majorca at the end of August, it felt like I was being naughty doing so (COVID not financials), I wonder how long we will be until life is a new normal. It’s all moveable and can be changed/cancelled easily. We all agreed that part of a holiday is looking forward to it and so even if we do need to cancel it we can still have enjoyed looking forward to it 😀 glosses over disappointment of if we have to cancel. I am hoping that I will be beach ready after all these bootcamps 😇

Whilst I totally agree that it has been much easier food wise to follow bootcamp in lockdown. We have been at home except a dog walk a day since the beginning of December as we are shielding dd2, who requires 24/7 care/supervision. Yesterday I had to do a couple of jobs that could not be put off (bank and car in for MOT), just doing that added about 3000 extra steps to my day. It felt wonderful to be out 😀.

Today
B Greek yogurt
L eggs & avocado
D pork meatballs and flgv/salads (tbc) - will try a new menu/recipe to mix it up a bit

Some lovely sounding food on here! I am going to try a cauliflower rice 'risotto' for dinner tonight. I have also bravely bought some lambs liver but have never cooked it before. Any ideas?

I'm excited that the next bootcamp will potentially coincide with gyms opening too - I find motivating myself to workout at home really difficult. Whereas going to the gym (and having a hot shower in peace) feels like me time.

@Ninkanink sorry you had a bad night. Hope your mood is lifted a bit today. Lots of people struggling atm. Don’t be hard on yourself. Flowers

Have improved my tendency to graze on cheese and yoghurt out of habit and boredom and feel so much better for it.

Today’s food
B black coffee
L French cheese, avacado, celeriac remoulded, spinach, watercress. Greek yoghurt (served in a ramekin to manage portion size)
D smoked mackerel, buttered cabbage mashed neeps.

Some great losses yesterday. KOKO everyone. Feels like spring here. Have a good day.

@1stMrsF I think that was Ragz with the chilli omelette husband, not me. Easy to confuse Shag&Rag.

Here’s a gel nail to keep everyone happy. Loved the kit but really need to not paint outside the lines, or at least wipe away before curing under the light. Hmm

Also, I don’t think the first kit was rubbish. I think I just didn’t follow the instructions. Am now keeping my more expensive kit and giving the first one to a friend.

Nink thanks for the teaspoon hug thread. It was glorious and made me happyweepy!

No idea about food today. Not hungry at all.

Just popping my food down for today:

B - Greek yoghurt and a teaspoon of cream
L - chicken breast and avocado smothered in olive oil.
D - steak and loads of green veg plus mushrooms in cream cheese ‘sauce’.

My meals are all a bit dull at the moment. I try and adapt things the family are having but my DH is very fussy and if he cooks. He always cooks things like burritos but with a spice mix with loads of sugar/carbs. I’ve tried to get him to vary his repertoire but it’s hard. He won’t eat anything with cream or cheese. I end up having to scrabble around for something for me so it’s often a piece of meat then a pile of veg in butter. All fine, but a bit bland. Confused

@ShagMeRiggins sorry, you are right it was Ragz. When I finally get around to making it I'll credit the right poster! Great colour on your gel nails - the sort of thing I like to wear in Summer...

@ShagMeRiggins lovely nail colour. What gel nail set did you buy please? I'm very tempted to have a go myself. I had a look online but ended up more confused than before I started looking.

Also feel a bit rubbish today. have stuck to the plan & drunl loads of water. I'm wondering if it could be after effects of the vaccine. I had it on Saturday.

Thanks, all Flowers feeling much better today. Smile

Just been out to the supermarket and ended up overbuying by a huge amount, forgetting that I was walking home, not driving...so I’ve definitely had my weight bearing exercise for today! Grin

@BIWI I’ve just checked the link and it’s working so I guess it must have been a temporary glitch. I hope I haven’t posted the backwards version though - I always forget to flip back before I c&p links on here!

It’s just a sweet little thread that was very happy-inducing in the early hours of the morning.

@Onelittlepiglet I feel you on the DH cooking front - mine will only cook about 5 things and won't sub ingredients either.

This seasoning is nice and doesn't have any sugar. It's good on any kind of meat, although you could probably make a spice mix cheaper yourself, it's handy to have.

@Onelittlepiglet maybe batch cook some nice base meals and freeze portions for yourself? At least then you could easily microwave and add some fresh veg and so on to make yourself a nice easy meal.

1stMrsF no need to apologise, I just couldn’t possibly take the credit for any dish with chillies in it. Not my thing.

The other day I made Ragz dirty fries, which were so lush I could only eat half, but next time I’ll leave off the chilli flakes.

DreamQueen I’ve attached photos of the kit I bought, but mylee is the brand to look at. You get a bunch of stuff with the kit that you might or might not need. This one was the £90 something one on Amazon and in retrospect I wish I’d purchased just the LED lamp and bought the Nail Prep, Gel remover, and polishes from my local salons as they have my favourite colours. I’m never going to wear most of the polishes that came with the kit.

They use CND and my understanding is you should use the same Remover as you do the polish because not all removers work the same on different polishes.

I’m blathering on, but you get the point.

And thanks both for for liking my coral polish!

@Onelittlepiglet my DH is exactly the same. But he can't really cook full stop, boiling pasta or potato is about his limit. For tacos/fajitas/burritos we use this spice mix recipe:

www.allrecipes.com/recipe/46653/taco-seasoning-i/

My DS enjoys mixing it up every few weeks and it keeps well in a little Tupperware pot

I was in school yesterday so haven't been able to catch up with the thread until now.

Hopeislost season the lambs liver with salt and lots and lots of black pepper and fry in butter over a medium-high heat for 5-6 minutes so it browns up nicely on the outside but is still slightly pink in the middle. Remove on to a warm plate. Add a tiny splash of water to the pan and deglaze it to make a buttery gravy.

Pleaseandthankyou low carb bread substitutes involving coconut flour etc. give me a stomach ache and cause bloating. The Seriously Low Carb Bread and the low carb cheese almond muffins seem to be okay though.

Excellent timing on the next Bootcamp BIWI. That's a few days after my birthday so I'll be able to get through whatever tempting chocolates DH buys for me. Hmm

Yesterday's food:
L: salad and pate which was a combination that didn't work as well as expected.
D: chilli con carne with cauli rice.

Today's food:
B: egg in a cup then a few more bits and bobs as I was still hungry.
L: salad with ham, Brie and boiled eggs followed by Greek yogurt and berries.
D: will be pork belly slices with whatever veggies are in the fridge.

@Hopeislost @Ninkanink and @ouchmyfeet
Thank you for the suggestions and the spice mixes - I will definitely try these. DH does one with chicken that is homemade but for some reason always wants the packets for beef mince!

Will also try and place ahead and batch cook some things for the freezer. With homeschooling etc I just haven’t been very good at planning ahead. I hardly go out of the flat and still seem to have no time!
