Week 3 - Jan '21 Low Carb Bootcamp - time for Light?

Well thanks to all the chat, I've had to start this week's thread earlier than usual Grin

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to declare all

You now have a choice: you can move on to Bootcamp Light, which means you can re-introduce nuts and seeds, some fruit and alcohol - all in moderation.

However, also bear in mind that weeks 3 & 4 are notorious for little or not weight loss and this is nothing to do with moving on to Bootcamp Light. It's just something that seems to happen.

So it's up to you. You can stay on Bootcamp if you wish, or move on to Bootcamp Light, or a hybrid - so you do Bootcamp during the week but relax into Bootcamp Light at the weekend.

Whatever you decide - good luck! Here's to a good week ahead.

Thanks for the kind words.

@StuntNun when I have been in India they often serve egg curry but I have never been tempted! Might boil some to have on the side! Salt and vinager pork scratchings?! Where did you get them?

Fagey · 07/02/2021 20:49

@BIWI

Absolutely. Thanks for the heads up!

Once my initial few weeks are over on F800 I'll swap to low carb as my lifestyle going forward anyway.

Just wanted a real kickstart after years of being a carb-goblin.

Anyway. That'll be the last I mention it. Thanks for having me and see you over on the new thread. Grin

@StuntNun

Bestbees I love a couple of hard boiled eggs thrown into a curry if you want to add some protein.

Today has been a lot of food for me...Shock

B: sous vide egg bites, bone broth, kefir

L: Greek salad DH bought salad leaves to put into it, how come he's never heard of Greek salad before? and a packet of salt and vinegar pork scratchings OMG those are so good!

I was hungry mid-afternoon, which is why I don't usually eat breakfast, so I had some kimchi and cheese as a snack. It's been a miserable day here - snow but not settling and oh so cold - so I treated myself to a hot chocolate made from whole milk, cream and cocoa powder without any added sugar. A little on the carby side but that was the last of the cocoa powder so it won't be repeated.

D: roast pork with epic crackling courtesy of DH's rare skill, with braised celery and roasted butternut squash bless him we've only been eating this way for seven years and he still hasn't got the hang of which veggies are low carb!

@StuntNun - do you chop up the eggs before adding them? Or add them whole? X

Good day here food wise..
B scrambled eggs with spinach and smoked salmon
L steak and fried courgette slices
D veg soup with double cream

4 ltrs water

We are feeling lockdown in this household today. Kids playing up, Me and OH grumpy and unsettled... It's not even like the monotony can be broken up by work and school tomorrow. I really fancied wine tonight but abstained as I suspected that if I started I wouldn't stop. A win in itself Grin

A yummy day for me today.

Lunch I had prawn and avocado salad and then a creamy coffee and half a NAKD bar (higher carbs than I'd realised but scratched the itch with just half)

Dinner I made beef burgers (buns for the family but not for me) and melted cheddar on mine and had with celeriac chips (my first time trying it - a fan already!) lots of gherkins and some yellow mustard.

@bestbees - why did you eat a pear? If you were hungry (or even if your mouth was just bored) why did you not eat some cheese, or olives, or slurp some cream from the tub? More fat is usually the answer (and more water). And I don't think your curry needs more protein, unless it's a nice fatty protein like pork belly...

Sorry to hear you're feeling down, whatever each of us are facing, it is relentlessly the same. Which is hard. I thrive on variety, and I feel quite desolate without it.
