This Bootcamp has gone crazy! I'm very hopeful that means that the results on the scales/with the tape measure etc will have been positive.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I love this week. For so many, it's a total vindication as well as complete reassurance that this WOE really works!

I hope, very much, that the scales are kind to you and look forward to hearing everyone's progress.

When you make it yourself you need to leave it to ferment for a long time - about a month before it gets properly pungent - and obviously use all the authentic ingredients. I made our current lot with swede instead of Korean radish at the suggestion of a Korean woman who lives here who says it’s the best match she’s found.

There won’t be all that much sugar in it overall so you could check the ingredients list/carb content and just go ahead if it’s not too high - not all recipes use the rice flour ‘porridge’ to bind the ingredients.
@Primitivo

Dairy plays a huge part in how much I lose. I did low carb for years and lost plenty of weight but the more dairy I had the slower it was. I now have unsweetened soya milk in my tea, that way I don’t get too grumpy. Every body is different. Also, weight loss isn’t linear - over the whole month tou can lose significantly but have periods within that time when you don’t and it’s easy to become dispirited. Why not give Biwi et al a look at your daily meals?
Thanks for your speedy reply @MrsOmelette ! To be honest I'm not doing a very good job of recording what I'm eating and too much eating is probably happening standing with my head in the fridge. I'll start trying to honestly record it to see where I'm slipping up. I also need to stop buying large pots of double cream, as they seem to vanish rather quickly Shock its reassuring hearing that it really can make a difference x

LostaraYil · 28/01/2021 12:18

Wow, prettybird, your boobs are magnificent! You look great.
Feeling a bit down today, the endless grey Welsh rain doesn't help. Not hungry though, so that's good. Might have some Greek yogurt for lunch and DH is cooking tuna steaks for dinner, I will request creamy leeks and broccoli with it.

Primitivo · 28/01/2021 12:23

Also, for balance, I should mention these other positives (NSVs?)

Headaches/migraines receded - due to better hydration?

Feel like skin looks better

Chronic bleeding gums seem improved? @StuntNun had you also mentioned this?

Feeling motivated to move more (Apple Watch has been a game changer here)

Will KOKO, I really appreciate the chat and info here ❤️

prettybird · 28/01/2021 12:25

This was nearly 4 years ago (end May 2017) when I was 14'13" Shock

I'm now 11st 5lb (as of this morning Smile)

This Way of Eating works Grin

Can I just say you carry your weight really beautifully, @prettybird. I'm not much more than you at the moment and I look pregnant and lumpy. You have lovely curves!

Oneborneverydecade · 28/01/2021 12:40

I was just thinking that @Dailyhandtowelwash obviously you look fab now but you looked lovely then too @prettybird

Great weight loss though x

StuntNun · 28/01/2021 13:07

Primitivo I was dairy-free for over a year while breastfeeding my DS4 who is allergic to dairy and it made not one jot of difference to my weight loss. On the other hand my chronic allergic rhinitis went away. I would try cutting out the double cream and keeping the milk (in small quantities) and cheese and see whether that makes a difference. Also I did see a massive improvement in peridontitis when I went low carb, I assume thanks to cutting out sugar because I was a complete sugar fiend beforehand.

prettybird · 28/01/2021 13:09

I'm 5'5.5" - but was/am good at buying clothes to flatter. I was nearly in tears when I went shopping for that wedding outfit though Sad- it was by far the heaviest I'd ever been Shock. I literally had no "nice" clothes I could fit into Sad

I used all the tricks: crossover/wrap top to show off my boobs, assymetric top and long necklace and high heels to elongate the look Grin

Lyrata · 28/01/2021 13:16

Oh great idea MrsOmelette

I used to make these sous vide egg bites when I ate breakfast and they are basically just egg + milk + savoury flavourings of your choice. fitfoodiefinds.com/cheesy-sous-vide-egg-bites/

They taste like a savoury creme brûlée. Your pancakes sound similar!

I will give them a go - or experiment with adding vanilla and lemon to the egg bites if I ever crave something sweet (which I normally don’t, so please don’t stick me, BIWI!)

Ninkanink · 28/01/2021 13:21

My lunch today, inspired by earlier chat:

An approximation of kimbap, without the rice of course, using seaweed sheets, tuna mayonnaise, omelette with sesame seeds, red and orange peppers, and spring onions.

Dipping sauce using soy sauce, rice vinegar, water, toasted sesame oil, crushed garlic, gochugaru (Korean chilli flakes) and spring onion. Eliminated the sugar.

It really hit the spot!

@prettybird I love that photo compared to your other one after bootcamp loss, comparing the same outfit and what a difference it makes. A huge endorsement of this WOE (But I totally agree - you carried the extra weight very well indeed).

Just checking in to tell you all I had a delicious cheese omletter for lunch, with a side salad dressed with olive oil and mayo and a generous helping of salt & pepper and it was beautiful and i am stuffed 😄

That is all. Hope everyone is having a great day, despite weather and blumming lockdown! 😄

ShagMeRiggins · 28/01/2021 13:35

Hiya. Regarding a few posts from yesterday, let me say: Quints. That is all. Hmm

BIWI · 28/01/2021 13:38

@Primitivo

Grrrr, I feel like I'm behaving relatively well:

Following rules
Drinking lots of water
Zero booze
Doing 10,000 steps
Getting lots of sleep

Scales not budging!

The only areas where I could tighten up are, cutting out dairy - still having milk in tea and cream/cheese etc.... but I don't want to!!Sad having tea with milk makes me feel normal and doesn't feel like that bad a thing and other people seem to get away with having a ton of cheese on everything... grrrr!

Can anyone share stories of this one change making all the difference for them? I think I need convincing! Thank you all Thanks

But @Primitivo you've lost 6lbs! And you started in w/c 11 Jan, so this is your week 3.

Weeks 3 & 4 are notorious for little or no weight loss - sometimes even a gain.

If you lost 6lbs in the first two weeks, then you know it's working for you. Just ride out the next 2 weeks - KOKO and you'll be fine.

Hah. That's sextuplets now. Can see a post-covid meetup for BootCamp drinks going horribly, publicly, shamefully, wrong, and dragging poor BIWIs BootCampers' reputation through the mud.

Disorganised today, so:

B: lots of coffee
L: gherkins, brie, plum tomatoes
D: who knows!

Although it will probably involve sprouts again, in some form.

Almahart · 28/01/2021 13:45

@Ninkanink you cook very very interesting food. Am going to take notes.

This BC is very odd in that there are none of the what can I eat on a long train journey/at a work dinner/at a party posts.

It does make BC so much easier but Sad

Is my response to that 'sex' @ShagMeRiggins?!

@ninkanink that looks amazing. Can I ask how you make your omelette? My attempts at Japanese omelette always fail miserably?

@BIWI I think if you followed Shag's naming convention, it would be sexts. Best left to the teenagers Blush Grin

I, too, am very interested in all the Korean cooking going on—everything’s a Kim!

The photos look lush and I’m wondering what the difference is Tom Japanese and Chinese food, with which I’m much more familiar.

The only thing I know about Korean cooking is from an episode of MAS*H where Hawkeye mentioned the smell of kimchi fermenting underground gave away position to the enemy. Or something like that.

Anyway, if the Kim Cookers have payed on recipe threads, I’m sure we’d all love to know!

ShagMeRiggins · 28/01/2021 14:09

Basically, this group, Waitrose, and Netflix are my lockdown Happy Place.

Oh, and 1.2lbs down so far this week. Tomorrow’s At Home extravaganza is from The German Gym—another surprise from the husband—and I’m really looking forward to it. I’ll be good with food. I might have an early drink.

Full disclosure: haven’t been drinking so far but actually eating BC Lite sometimes as I’ve been doing this a long time, so in no way am I advocating to be like me. Especially for those new to this and those who have struggled with carb/sweet/sugar addiction, just ride out the next few days and you can reward yourselves with a blackberry on Monday. Mwah!
