This is the full list of those who have signed up. Hopefully you're all on The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness (unless you said you didn't want to be!

Remember, weighing in tomorrow is not part of this week, although if you want to, you can put your weight in the 'original start date/weight' columns

Thanks must go, as always, to the very lovely @AthelstaneTheUnready for setting up the spreadsheet. You'll see this time that we've amended it slightly so that you can record loss for this Bootcamp as well as since you started, for those of you who started earlier.

If your name isn't on the spreadsheet, don't panic! Just add it to the bottom of the list. Don't try to insert it in the right alphabetical place - Athelstane will do that later.

If you are on the spreadsheet, but don't want to be, send me or Athelstane a PM and we'll remove you.

Whatever you do, don't touch the blue cells!

If you're using a mobile to access the spreadsheet, you'll need to download the Google Sheets app.

thyme, parsley, sprouts... all higher in vit C than oranges or blueberries etc. (vit c being the antioxidant in question)

I can see a new bootcamp classic on the horizon: full fat yoghurt with a spoon of sprouts stirred in

Grin
Lyrata · 12/01/2021 19:32

Plot twist: the yogurt is made of cauliflower

BrassicaBabe · 12/01/2021 19:36

Bollox. Today AND Sunday I seem to be able to only cope with Dry January. But NOT Dry January abs BC SadSad

I can do it. I've done it before.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 12/01/2021 19:39

Easing in week, @BrassicaBabe, easing in week. Bit more time to adjust to (pah) dry january, and then starting in earnest next week. Flowers

BrassicaBabe · 12/01/2021 19:40

Thanks @AthelstaneTheUnready It started off as "just 2 lindor". Then something snapped abs control exited stage left!

AthelstaneTheUnready · 12/01/2021 19:43

I've bought myself some Montezuma 100% for the ARRRRGH moments. It's 0.3g sugar per 100g so absolutely allowed anyway. Extraordinarily hard to gorge on as well, but still fulfills that fuck-it need.

Catmaiden · 12/01/2021 19:45

I've done this woe before, lost a load of weight and mostly kept it off, but since Lockdown 1 and getting long covid I've put back on 3 stone (still 6 stone down from my heaviest) , so going to rejoin low carbing.
From previous experience, it works really well, and I'm already on Dry Jan and only drink black decaf tea and coffee and never touch artificial sweeteners or sugar based squashes.
I just have fallen back into sandwiches and pasta , because I've been relying on other people to feed me with being ill, up until recently

Catmaiden · 12/01/2021 19:46

Ooh yes 100% chocolate is wonderful!

Oneborneverydecade · 12/01/2021 20:01

Bloody hell @Catmaiden that's a hell of a loss! Amazing. Glad you're feeling better and good luck

ChristMyArse · 12/01/2021 20:31

Evening all,

We are so out of routine at this end it's driving me bonkers. Finding myself eating late morning then having a later lunch, and then I'm not massively hungry for dinner. My day has been:

B bacon, 1 sausage (black farmer) cherry tomatoes and avocado - oddly nice together

L salmon, cauliflower, yellow peppers, yellow peppers chicken in a frying pan with butter
D gammon - no veg tonight, it was all I could do to get a few pieces of that in my mouth.

4ltr water and many pigteas.

Pigteas have a deal on at the moment - 6 different teas (pick your own) for 22.99 so I've gone for quite an eclectic mix as I'm finding I need a variety of different drinks to get me through the day!

Catmaiden · 12/01/2021 20:41

@Oneborneverydecade, thank you! I lost nine stone over a year, on low carb, regained good health and felt fabulous. Kept it off for 8 years, but then getting covid in March, then long covid after effects completely upset my eating, not least due to relying on other people to feed me, plus my unhealthy use of alcohol to numb out the stuff going on in my personal life.
Now in my own, separate home and finally in control of my own food and drink, so looking forward to getting back in control.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 12/01/2021 20:55

I'm really looking forward to my cauliflower-yoghurt with Brussels-sprout jus for breakfast.

crackofdoom · 12/01/2021 21:05

Bloody kids have now decided they like boiled eggs so they are stealing mine!

My gitbag 5 year old developed a taste for the posh Christmas-luxury-shelf bottled asparagus they were selling in Lidl- and when I went back to replenish stocks they'd run out Sad

Well, combining 5:2 and low carbing meant that I'd lost 5lbs in 8 days when I weighed myself this morning, but eating nothing but a massive feta and spinach omelette in 36 hours made me feel mighty weird this morning, and I reckon I went into proper ketosis- floppy, headachey, feeling like bats had been roosting in my mouth.

Salad (and half a tub of mascarpone!) for lunch and halloumi with garlic and chilli fried courgettes, celeriac remoulade and creamy garlic mushrooms for dinner has made me feel a bit more like myself.

SummerBody1 · 12/01/2021 21:08

My post just disappeared!!!!!
B: Creamy coffee, microwave eggs with ham and cheese. (OK but a little overdone)
L: Aldi mushroom soup 3% carb
Snack: Leftover greens with olive oil
D: Bacon chops fried in butter with loads of veg- cauli rice from frozen, sprouts, salad, leeks and cabbage.
Followed by Greek Yogurt with spoon of peanut butter, and cup of berry tea with 85% chocolate

BrassicaBabe · 12/01/2021 21:36

Please someone impart your wisdom about teapigs. Up until now my experience of these kind of teas is that they smell beautiful but universally taste like strained socks! But I've recently discovered that I like twinnings peppermint. I'm trying to cut down out my Diet Coke. What other flavours do you suggest I try? Wondered about lemon and ginger? Keen to avoid the taste of stewed grass or indeed the afore mentioned strained socks Grin

ChristMyArse · 12/01/2021 21:52

@BrassicaBabe I've only just found these teas. In an ideal world they would not be my "go to" where is the wine but I've tried lemon and ginger, sweet ginger and apple and cinnamon so far. They all smell good in the bag, but don't taste quite the same. There the best teas I've found so far though.

I've attached what I've ordered. They are all trace carb. I've started to struggle (day12) with wanting something sweet after dinner so I'm gonna try these and see if they work. I think any tea without milk (and in my case sweetener too) goes against the grain somewhat but needs must! I do miss a good brew in the morning though.

Hi. Third January bootcamp for me I think. First one that I’m not doing dry January though, so will have to try my best with that. I’m just hovering around my pre-Christmas weight but it’s been hard work to stay there. If I’m honest, it’s probably been more due to cutting calories rather than carbs... hence I feel bloated and rubbish. I’m running every day too - not sure how helpful that actually is though, as I’m perpetually starving.

Love the early threads in January when they are so busy. I save up the day’s posts for the evening and read them for a bit of inspiration and motivation. Unfortunately I’m rubbish at then remembering individual posts, but I do love hearing how everyone is doing.

tea69 · 12/01/2021 22:06

I'm in!! Will weigh on Monday and post starting weight.

Am starting to ease in from tomorrow.

venusandmars · 12/01/2021 22:27

brassicababe I avoid anything with camomile - tastes like old grass.

I like peppermint, lemon and ginger, cherry and cinnamon, turmeric with orange and star anise.

CeibaTree · 12/01/2021 22:35

Lately I've tried from Teapigs spiced pear (delicious), gingerbread (also delicious), mulled wine (ok) and chocolate orange (revolting chemically taste). So it is a bit hit and miss!
Bumbledee · 12/01/2021 22:42

@BrassicaBabe @ChristMyArse I’ve had the tea pigs tea with chocolate flakes, taste vaguely of chocolate and are not sweet. So they would be a good no sugar, low carb substitute with a hint of caffeine if you had a chocolate craving.

BrassicaBabe · 12/01/2021 23:11

Excellent. Thank you tea fans. Off to spend some money clutching at straws trying to find something to ease the wine cravings Hmm

ChristMyArse · 12/01/2021 23:13

I shall let you know how I get on when my bundle arrives!

BIWI · 12/01/2021 23:38

@BrassicaBabe I don't know about you, but for me it's 'the witching hour' from 6pm that's the worst - it's so tempting to reach for a glass of wine/G&T to mark the end of the day/start of the evening.

I've found once I get through that, then I'm fine with drinking sparkling water for the rest of the evening.

I have, though, discovered no alcohol beer - and in particular Brewdog's Nanny State

I'm not naturally an ale drinker, but there's something really enjoyable about the dry, bitter taste of this - and there are only 3.96g carbs in one can. For me, one can is enough to satisfy the need. You'd also be hard pushed to say it was alcohol-free.

I've had a go at alcohol-free wine, but haven't been impressed - and alcohol-free substitutes for gin are ridiculously expensive!
