Morning all.

We've completed our ten weeks - and I can see from the Spreadsheet just how well it's gone!

But just because the ten weeks are up, doesn't mean we have to stop. So here's a bright, shiny new chat thread for us to keep chatting and supporting each other.

Happy Christmas all!

I hope you have lovely days and enjoy your Christmas food. I have been up and for a run and will dress up nicely - but have already eaten some chocolate this morning. A full day off, I expect.

Have fun, Bootcampers!

Jdhshekr · 25/12/2020 13:58

I’m having a semi day off here. No potatoes etc with Christmas dinner, low carb friendly (filthy) snacks before Christmas lunch with with buffet tonight, but I’ve had pudding and am allowing myself a few chocolates.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 25/12/2020 16:43

Merry Christmas everyone x
Having a day off too although not going too mad! Had mini pain au chocolat for breakfast, having been tormented by the smell of them baking for months (I make them for dd's breakfast every day). Had a few chocs and a very small slice of Christmas cake and am now on the wine

Get back on track Solong you don't want to start the next Bootcamp having gained weight. What lovely low carb food do you have planned for Boxing Day?

WitchWandHasBaublesOn · 25/12/2020 18:41

Hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas Day. Wishing you lightness in your lives and in your bodies! StarSmile

Oneborneverydecade · 25/12/2020 18:47

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope your youngest are in bed and you're able to relax now @StuntNun?

We had our Christmas dinner yesterday and I treated myself to 3 crackers with cheese and a tiny portion of sticky toffee pudding. Was up 2. 5lb this morning Confused. Stuck to lchf at IL's today except for a teeny macaron. Feeling good x

I'm finding it hard today too. I've feasted on veggies and different meats. Not gone mad on carbs - but definitely upped the alcohol today... And, now, --- -- those dotted lines are me screeching to a stop. Because it's so hard to not go overboard.

I want to see myself back to the weight I was before Christmas in a few days. So, I'm reigning myself in. And I'm going to have to put the stop sign up to my family too. Because, they're definitely doing to be flashing tempting foods and drinks in my face if I let them.

Thinking about you Solongsugar. Hope you're ok. Thanks

StuntNun · 25/12/2020 20:11

They are now thanks Oneborn and DH and I are settling down with DS1 and DS2 for a Christmassy game of Cards Against Humanity! Grin

NotwatchingSpooks · 25/12/2020 21:12

Wishing you all a peaceful Christmas xx

Midlifemission · 25/12/2020 21:39

Happy Christmas everyone .
Sorry to see some struggling with the off piste food choices. Hopefully we can all drag each other back on track when needed . I have been ok today but feel a bit angsty about letting myself deviate too much as I am worried it could spiral quite quickly . I am enjoying champagne tonight though it’s a festive tradition here.

I weighed today as my wayward AF turned up on Xmas eve ( great !) and I was down again And back into the 11s . This was my first goal weight so was really happy.
I know it won’t stick over the holiday but it gave me another boost to stick to this WOE as best I can .
It was like my own little Christmas miracle .

StuntNun · 26/12/2020 08:03

Who else is getting back on track today? Yesterday wasn't too bad for me apart from the booze one tiny pain au chocolat for breakfast, a couple of roasties with dinner, and an admittedly quite large portion of homemade chocolate trifle for pud plus a few choccies here and there. Today will be bacon and eggs for breakfast; leftover roast goose, sausagemeat stuffing, gravy and sprouts for lunch; pork belly and FLGV for dinner so I'm all about the pork today! I'm not doing intermittent fasting today because I'm always extra hungry after a higher carb day and I also didn't get enough sleep on the night before Christmas thanks to my children. Tomorrow will be back to my usual 16:8.

WitchWandHasBaublesOn · 26/12/2020 08:59

StuntNun, I'm jumping back on board too.
Today, my biggest difficulties are likely to be:

  • me giving way to my husband who started saying yesterday that we've got to hurry up and eat the food up or it will go to waste.
It's not true. We've got a freezer. So, today I'm going to put some of that food in there for a later date.
  • a box of chocolates that I've been given as a present. It's doing my head in - sitting there on the table, waving at me all the time.
So, I'm going to take it off the table and put it away. I won't be taking it out until I'm right down to the weight I'm aiming for.

I'm already feeling calmer for deciding all that. Now, it's just doing it. Glad to have written it down here. Grin

Yesterday I didn't go mad - but I definitely ate more than I would normally. More carbs too. I'm looking forward to getting back to my more relaxing way of eating.

ZiggZagg · 26/12/2020 11:30

Morning all, I was a carb demon yesterday... roasties, stuffing, gravy, profiteroles, cake, cheesecake and booze Blush

It's my mums birthday today so we generally have another roast dinner and lots of booze, however, I have loads of amazing low carb snacks to get back to it tomorrow! I'm aiming to be the same or less as I was at the end of bootcamp when we start the new one in Jan!

I haven't weighed as I don't want to put a downer on myself but I have acknowledged I ate far too much yesterday "because I could" and will try better today Grin

prettybird · 26/12/2020 13:42

I was reasonably good on Christmas Eve (our main Christmas Dinner): had a home made sourdough soft dinner roll with the starter of tomato & mint soup (slathered with plenty of butter Xmas Wink); served myself up a single roast potato (home grown Xmas Grin) and didn't even eat it (just had ham, turkey, savoy cabbage with lardons and mashed parsnips with chestnuts); and only a small portion of the Danish rice pudding (sweet rice risotto with chopped almonds and whipped cream folded through it). Fortunately ds "won" the almond prize so we didn't need to keep eating it Xmas Grin).

So far, so good. Xmas Wink

Except yesterday, after Christmas muffins and a home made sourdough pain au chocolat, I hit the toffee that I'd been resisting for the last 2 weeks Xmas Blush

Still just under 11.5stone this morning though Xmas Smile - weighed myself for accountability.

Back on it today, with plenty of water. Noticed that my pee last night was really yellow Xmas Blush - probably a combination of not enough water and what water I did have refilling my glycogen stores Xmas Shock

Water, water, water! Xmas Smile

prettybird · 26/12/2020 13:50

In sort of good news, dh got me a lovely belt from John Lewis. Only, he got it in a large, which is sooooo large, I'll probably have to swap it for a small Xmas Shock Which, according to the JL website is an 8-10, while the Medium is a 12-14 (and the Large a 14-16 what was dh thinking Xmas Wink) - but I do have a small waist Xmas Smile

Happy Christmas Bootcampers!
Oneborneverydecade · 26/12/2020 15:16

@prettybird that rice pudding sounds amazing.

We're at my parents and I was doing well (just a desert spoon of mashed potato) until the cheesecake came out! It was delicious but I'm annoyed with myself as I'm still up from Christmas Eve. That's it now though, no more celebrating so koko from right now

Solongsugar · 26/12/2020 22:38

I went to bed with chronic I digestion which I have not had for few months. Clearly a sign to knock Christmas extravance on head That and your wise words @WitchWandHasBaublesOn. Definitely not 190 per cent on it, but 99% off sugar.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 26/12/2020 22:43

I'm going back on tomorrow. Have had too much junk and feel horrible - my stomach is sore and I know it's melodramatic but I feel like I'm poisoning myself by eating all this sugary crap.
Am looking forward to feeling better again.

Superspecs · 27/12/2020 07:59

I've had 3 days off (and terrible indigestion) I enjoyed it but I'm ready to get right back on it today. I also seem to have put on 5kg! My aim is to be back to where I was on Christmas Eve by the next bootcamp.

StuntNun · 27/12/2020 09:20

Superspecs get back on track and it will come off as fast as it went on. How is everyone else doing?

Laska2Meryls · 27/12/2020 09:45

I had lost a few more pounds ( even though hadn't been strictly following last BC ) and was feeling pretty good, but a week of carbier eating and Christmas overload(and tbh not enough veg ) I have the old sore stomach again ( and 4lbs up ! ).. Xmas Sad

Today I am resetting ( not sure what I will do about all of the leftovers though.. some have already gone home with DS .. DH will just have to step up to the plate!

Takingontheundead · 27/12/2020 09:59

Just stepped on scales and I'm up 7 lbs. Can't say I'm surprised. I feel terribly unwell for it too, but worse still my cravings are all triggered despite my body being like "PLEASE, NO MORE!"

Today is the day, i need to level out and get my sugars under control etc. Wondering if i should contemplate a couple days egg fast to really simplify things?

StuntNun · 27/12/2020 10:06

I would just get back to normal low carb eating Taking as you didn't really enjoy the egg fast last time. I had a day eating more than usual yesterday by having breakfast - but all low carb - and today I'm back to my normal 16:8.

Ifeelmuchlessfat · 27/12/2020 10:09

@Superspecs so glad to hear I’m not the only one ... 3kg up in 3 days...🙄
Can’t get to the gym until tomorrow but might go for a bike ride or something today. I’ve been IFing until around 2.00 but when I eat I drink wine, and then it all goes to pot - the cheese board, port and chocolates come out.
If I can have a day without a drink I should be ok food-wise, it really emphasises how I have to be an absteiner - apparently I’m incapable of having one glass, one cracker, or even only one day ‘off’.
