Morning all.

We've completed our ten weeks - and I can see from the Spreadsheet just how well it's gone!

But just because the ten weeks are up, doesn't mean we have to stop. So here's a bright, shiny new chat thread for us to keep chatting and supporting each other.

I quite like the tough start - but I will be happily here and participating either way!

cheeseisthebest · 30/12/2020 10:48

Can I join please.

Totalshambles · 30/12/2020 11:25

biwi I think that’s a totally perfect idea!

BIWI · 30/12/2020 14:04

Definitely agree on the sugar front @StuntNun, as far as that's possible.

I was also thinking about this being a good week to start without any weighing - I don't know about anyone else, but I don't want to get on the scales any time soon Blush Grin, so a week of better eating without the tyranny of the scales sounds a much more attractive proposition!

@BIWI I keep checking back daily to ensure I don't miss signing up for mid Jan, but would like to get started at the beginning of the month so was planning on doing it myself for the first couple of weeks - even though I've not done this before! My plan was to drop the sugar / sweetner and eat a lot of salmon and veg for 2 weeks prior to boot camp - would that work?

BIWI · 30/12/2020 14:44

You'd need to drop a lot more than just the sugar/sweetener though, if you truly want to be low carb! So you need to avoid pasta, rice, bread, potatoes in particular.

Surely you could eat something as well as just salmon? You'll get very bored of that very quickly!

Re dates, I'm considering this:

w/c 11 January - our 'easing ourselves in' week
w/c 18 & 25 January - initial two weeks hardcore Bootcamp
w/c 1 February - 22 March remaining 8 weeks

Does that work for people?

Totalshambles · 30/12/2020 15:02

Good with me. I may hit it harder a little earlier (Probably from the 11th) as if I allow myself to think I am “easing” for long then that’s going to be a recipe for disaster as sadly my brain doesn’t have a moderation button!

Lyrata · 30/12/2020 15:21

Yes, wonderful. I will KOKO until then but looking forward to the structure and support of a new bootcamp (and some new recruits).

Hi All. Hi BIWI, Thanks for asking our opinion.

Personally, I'd prefer to start back gently in the way you described next week. Then, as from the 11th, I'd like to do the weigh in. I suppose I'm asking that we move your suggested timeline a week earlier.

At this stage, working on the "maintaining" for over 2 weeks is enough for me. I'm not at my goal yet and I'd like to get on with it so I can be there when spring starts and the nice weather begins again.

Yes haha 😁, I failed to write in full what was in my head.. I'm not well currently so let's blame that....

I will mix it up, I'm just not confident about what I'm doing as yet so will be keeping it basic between 1st jan and start date, and on that note those dates work for me and I'm looking forward to it!

BIWI · 30/12/2020 16:04

@WitchWandHasBaublesOn

The reason I've suggested starting in w/c 11 Jan is because there isn't much time for people to sign up if we go for the week beforehand, which also means less time for them to prep/shop, etc.

But no reason why anyone who wants to couldn't start themselves a week earlier Smile

BIWI Your suggested dates make a lot of sense..... it means the next Bootcamp will end just before Easter, which is almost as bad as Christmas for the temptations to eat too many carbs!!

VeryLittleOwl · 30/12/2020 16:46

Works for me, I think the run-in week is a very good idea.

BIWI · 30/12/2020 16:47
Grin

I hadn't even thought of Easter! Or as I think a lot of us will be calling it, Christmas v2.0

Forgot to drop my halloween name! Updated...

Got a mate ready to join me and I've pointed her this way. Have we got pre bootcamp thread ready?

StuntNun · 30/12/2020 18:36

I think the 11th is a good date to start. I suggest making weighing optional for the first week

BIWI · 30/12/2020 18:41

Not yet @Takingontheflab, but I'll do that tomorrow.

Very definitely optional @StuntNun!

Channelling festive vibes LC vibes here today! 2nd day on track... still 6lbs up on scales the bastards got nandos chicken on menu for tomo (thanks buffy! Keep meaning to do this since you enlightened us all!) But then I think I'm gonna egg fast for 2 days because I need these sweet cravings to do one and I think it'll be quickest way to level out the sugars. Otherwise I think I'll be back on a slipper slope to downloading MFP and getting weird about it all again and I made a pinky swear to BIWI i intend to keep 🤣

Happy Christmas Bootcampers!
ZiggZagg · 30/12/2020 19:28

@BIWI that sounds fabulous! Of course, I'm completely back on plan so will just do bootcamp hardcore until we start weighing and I hopefully will start off lighter than when we ended last bootcamp!

I also have friends wanting to sign up after I "inspired" them Blush

Solongsugar · 30/12/2020 19:31

I am right up there to rejoin ! Loved my weight loss so far and feeling like a new woman! Got to 11 St 5lb. Was 14,10 in may 2020!. Aim to start toning as well which I had not even considered in over a decade.

venusandmars · 30/12/2020 23:57

@ChristMyArse if you're going to start in January before bootcamp, I suggest you have a look through week 1 and 2 of several previous bootcamps. Look at what people are posting as their daily menus. Get some ideas of what suits you, your family, your lifestyle. Plan a range of breakfasts, a range of lunches, a range of dinners. Plan out emergency snacks (although you'll soon find that you don't need them). Use the time as a way of getting used to a new way of eating. Remember it is high fat, so add butter to your veg or coconut cream to your curry. Remember it is not a 'diet' so don't count calories or make yourself hungry. Remember to drink lots of fluids (and call for help on the bootcamp thread if you have carb flu' symptoms).

@BIWI I think your plan sounds great. Thank you for keeping on doing this.

TGI2021 · 31/12/2020 00:10

That plan sounds fine to me [BIWI].
It looks like we could be home schooling for January which makes routine tough, but I'm good at New Year - new commitment. I feel I'm planning for the Summer and bare arms. Plus the lighter evenings give me an extra walk.
I've namechanged from Summery - but I might go back post bootcamp.

Lyrata · 31/12/2020 08:00

Yes, thank you so much BIWI and StuntNun and everyone else who helps make this happen. I’m so excited for my second Bootcamp.

CowGurl · 31/12/2020 08:43

Suggested dates sound fab, BIWI. Thank you all for doing this. I have gone completely off the wagon and really miss the structure of bootcamp! Slowly pulling myself back up ...
