So finally we arrive at week 10!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

One more week to hold out against the Christmas chocolates, and all the other temptations. And for you to decide what your strategy is for coping with the whole holiday period.

It's not an easy time!

But one thing I do know is that those of you who have stuck with it over the last ten weeks have done really well. The losses have been amazing Flowers

So let's have one more really good week!

VeryLittleOwl I've found exactly the same, I'm sure someone will explain why, but I definitely need to eat (the lchf) to loose. On a separate note, enjoy your Christmas lunch it really sounds like you have earned it.

Iamnotacerealkiller · 19/12/2020 10:10

@Oneborneverydecade

That's just it, there was no self control. I have reached unimaginable nervana (or hell depending on your description) complete non interest in food.

Normally i'm planning and looking forward to meals hours before, trying to hold off cravings etc but since about week 4 i've lost interest and its only gotten more so since.

Saying that i have been very strict all bootcamp (as it works for me) zero chocolate, zero alcohol, limited dairy and no milk at all. Maybe one or two portions of fruit a week (raspberries) and nuts about once a week (to make phylum pizza base). Trying to have 1-2 eggs per day and swapping at least one meal a day with either soup or skipping entirely.

I'm an abstainer type not a moderator can you tell?!?

Iamnotacerealkiller · 19/12/2020 10:12

@VeryLittleOwl
I've found if i have a very lean day it only shows on the scale the following day so 48 hours later.

Midlifemission · 19/12/2020 10:20

Still here fighting the good fight but not feeling as confident this week.
I am still waiting for a very overdue AF - so am feeling bloated and hormonal with occasional cramps - not a winning combination.
I have struggled with water this week because of feeling so bloated but I will try harder over weekend as I know it helps.

Had a remarkably good Zoom Christmas party this week - it was a brilliant choice for BC as it was cheese tasting - I still felt like I might have sabotaged myself though as obviously I still ate dinner on top afterwards, but I was fairly restrained and only had one glass of wine.

Anyway I haven't fallen into mince pie mode yet so guess I just have to focus on the positives.

Amazing how relatively quiet the thread is this week but each and every comment helps!

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 19/12/2020 10:22

I don't know what to do about weighing. I've just started a second period during this month. Had one start 5th Dec, which lasted a week, and now a new one started yesterday. Feel all bloated and horrible.

StuntNun · 19/12/2020 10:49

VeryLittleOwl imo most of the sugar in cheesecake is in the base so I leave that and just eat the top! Wink

Spooks in a very active day like that there's probably minor muscle damage requiring water retention to cushion the damaged areas. Same thing happens with exercise.

It won't be a second period MrsHunt it will be breakthrough or mid-cycle bleeding. You can't have two periods in that length of time because the luteal phase alone is 12-14 days. Have you had any other issues with your periods? Follicular development takes around 100 days so any issues can take up to three months to show up in your period.

WitchWandHasBaublesOn · 19/12/2020 11:35

Just popping on to say that I've been enjoying reading people's comments throughout the week. It's helping me feel more that I'm part of a team as The Christmas Period is coming nearer. So, thanks all.

I've not decided what my exact plan is for that time yet. I'm waiting to see what happens with my last weigh in on this BC. I'll be going out food shopping with my DH on that day. So, we'll make decisions together.

I'm feeling continually surprised about how LCHF has affected me. My husband makes bread for our family and ever since I started this BC, I've not had one single piece. I can smell it cooking, walk past it and feel completely ok. Never would I have believed !!

prettybird · 19/12/2020 12:21

I bake 2 loaves of sourdough bread once or twice a week (for dh, friends and family) and also make sourdough croissants - but now that I know I can make them consistently, I don't feel the need to taste them again.

I'll have one sourdough croissant over Christmas but that's probably it.

Midlifemission · 19/12/2020 12:28

@MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously my sympathies on the bloating I am in same boat and my cycle all over the place ! Never been so desperate for AF to start properly .

I am well into peri age group so to be expected.

Lyrata · 19/12/2020 12:38

Just checking in to say that I am still KOKO. I had rather a lot of red wine yesterday but I’m hoping that won’t show on the scales on Monday. I will definitely weigh on Monday rather than Sunday as a result - and it will be nice to do so on the same day as all of you!

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 19/12/2020 14:07

midlife it's horrible, isn't it? I'm 46 so about the right age for peri menopause to start, but I'm not ready yet (stamps feet)! I was really glad to get my period earlier this month because I didn't want it over Christmas or my birthday. Still, it's not like I'll be going out Wink
StuntNun sometimes I get heavy periods, some months are lighter. But other than that, nothing massively unusual. Cycle time can be a bit variable but nothing excessive. I don't remember ever having this before.
I don't like this feeling of not being sure when it will happen or not.

I'm envious of all you posters who can easily resist bread, especially sourdough. I am resisting but the smell of baking bread is one of the best in the world, imo.

ZiggaZiggArrgggghhhh · 19/12/2020 14:54

I've been so busy all day! Had my Christmas nails done this morning and running around for balloons/ presents for DS's 3rd birthday tomorrow! Haven't had time to eat, just lots of coffee! Will be having chicken kebabs with salad/cheese/mayo and some Greek yoghurt and peanut butter Grin

Rayna37 · 20/12/2020 07:28

Just popping in after catching up with two weeks of thread! Wildly off plan eating loads of Christmas crap at work, lots of fabulous meals out (Tier 2), wine... moderation well and truly slipped.

You're all doing so well!

Pretty gutted not to be having family for Christmas now (sister and parents too far to visit us for just the day) but I guess more conducive to LCHF. Trying to find small upsides like less cooking/cleaning/washing, control of the TV, can keep on with yoga/other exercise, ability to go out to eat if just us... not convincing myself TBH.

VeryLittleOwl · 20/12/2020 08:33

@Iamnotacerealkiller you were absolutely right about the 48 hours, 1lb down this morning despite a MAHOOSIVE Christmas lunch yesterday.

Yesterday's lunch actually worked out better than I'd planned for. What I'd remembered as deep-fried brie and cranberry, so was expecting to be either breadcrumbed or wrapped in filo, turned out to be warm goats cheese on a bed of rocket with caramelised pear slices and a walnut dressing, so that was pretty on-plan. I left the roast potatoes which has never happened in my life before and the stuffing was gluten-free, so I'm hoping a bit lower in carbs than expected. Lots of lovely veg - broccoli, cauliflower, sprouts, mashed swede and carrots - and then I did go the whole hog and eat the cheesecake base as well as the top, but on the whole a pretty virtuous celebratory meal and something that gives me hope that this time I can stick to this WOE for the rest of my life.

Iamnotacerealkiller · 20/12/2020 09:39

Woo!!

And a woo for me too. Im also a pound down today. 167.8 pounds which puts me at 11st 13.8lb im out of the 12s!!! so thats me at my optimistic bootcamp goal for christmas.

Takingontheundead · 20/12/2020 09:55

Congrats cereal killer!

I ended up having sour dough bread and some choc last night! I couldn't resist and I knew if i did, I'd only end up binging in a few days (have learnt now!)

And now I'm horribly constipated which is weird after no issue on the egg fast!?

So I'm gonna log my 12.7 as my final weight for this bootcamp and not hop on the scales again until new year. Planning to be 80% on plan and allow myself treats on xmas eve and xmas day.

I'm not sure how much I've lost this bootcamp, it's not alot, but never in my wildest dreams did i think I'd be the best part of 3.5st down 6 months ago, i honestly believed it would never happen for me.

I feel so confident that next year I'll reach target.

Thank you so much for these bootcamp threads BIWI, You've all really carried me through.

Merry christmas all 💖

ZiggaZiggArrgggghhhh · 20/12/2020 11:57

Another one weighing in today as work is going to be a lovely mix of chaos and hectic from tomorrow Sad

I have weighed in at 205lbs today, that is 6lb lost this week and 25lbs this bootcamp! I'm so chuffed with myself! I'm well into the 14 stones now, so will try my very best to not completely derail over the Christmas season! I will keep checking in because it keeps me on track!

Well done everyone on this bootcamp!

Just stopping by to say thank you to @BIWI for all the work you put into these threads.

Well done everyone, overall I’ve lost 8lbs which I’m happy with. It’s made a big difference to how my clothes fit.

BIWI · 22/12/2020 10:24

Thank you @Anotherducker! But, as I always say, it's all you who have done the hard work. Flowers
