So finally we arrive at week 10!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

One more week to hold out against the Christmas chocolates, and all the other temptations. And for you to decide what your strategy is for coping with the whole holiday period.

It's not an easy time!

But one thing I do know is that those of you who have stuck with it over the last ten weeks have done really well. The losses have been amazing Flowers

So let's have one more really good week!

Great pics @VeryLittleOwl big smile and well deserved!

I have lost either 1 or 0.5 lbs this week - can’t remember where I was last Monday but I know I went up a bit due to my period and then down again during the week and am now slightly lower. That’s around 1 stone 2lbs this bootcamp and around 2 stone 2lbs in total since August. I had planned to lose another 3/4lbs but my boobs are looking a bit sad, so I may have to make the decision to stick here. Possibly I’ll keep going until just before Christmas so I’ll be in a slight deficit and can stand to put on a bit of weight during Christmas week.

Holding steading at 12st 9 here 🥰

ZiggaZiggArrgggghhhh · 14/12/2020 20:14

I can't believe it's the last week!! I'm going to try to stay bootcamp light over Christmas, maybe a few roasties and yorkshires on my dinner Grin I'm very excited about this!!

lurknolinger · 14/12/2020 21:44

Great to see so many losses. It's really motivating to see everyone doing so well.
Ive only lost 0.6lbs this week, but that brings me into the 160s bracket and means I've lost 13.8lbs so my target for this week is to lose the other pesky 0.2lb.
I've really enjoyed reading about people thoughts around strategies for Food planning over Christmas. I've decided like a PP to do a meal plan over the whole Christmas period (which I do at every other time anyway, so why should this be any different - throwing out a basic tool like that out the window at this time of year is only going to make matters worse so I'm sticking with it) it's never occurred to me before, and I'm hoping that will help.
I've started to plan a list of meals that I will really enjoy, they are boot camp friendly anyway but might involve a spoon of flour to thicken a sauce or cooked with some booze, and then I'm also deciding on the list of the few things that aren't BC friendly but are things that I miss that will be worth having. Will be interesting to see how it works.
But I need to be careful with alcohol too, as no matter how much effort I make with food, it will all go badly wrong if I over do the wine. I'm still thinking about that one!

Great job news and weight loss news all round 🎉

I seem to have managed to get down to 10.12 from a start weight of 12.2, which I’m absolutely thrilled with. Last week’s loss was 2lbs which I’m very happy with at this stage. I did masses of exercise which I think helped.

I know that I’ll put some back on at Christmas - very little willpower when surrounded by sweet stuff - but I will be reading the thread regularly and be ready to continue in January.

Thanks everyone, I never really understood the support people got from SW or WW meetings, but I kind of get it now 💐

EarlGreyHot · 15/12/2020 08:08

Great reading all the losses, success with zips and jobs! Well done to all!

I have just under 1lb off, not bad considering its TOTM and it takes me to 11st 0.6lbs! Slightly annoying because I briefly saw 10st 13.8lbs during the week but hey ho it's a grand total of 16.4lbs this bootcamp which I am thrilled with. I've tried LC before but only very short term.

Thanks so much to BIWI and everyone on the thread. After the first lockdown booze fest/weight pile on I never expected to end this year lighter than I started it and feeling pretty damp good about myself Flowers

NotwatchingSpooks · 15/12/2020 08:23

Congratulations on the job news and all the losses.

Just off to walk the dog but wanted to plan out my day first.

B Greek yogurt
L homemade cauliflower soup
D beef casserole with flgv
2 coffees, herbal teas and water

prettybird · 15/12/2020 08:23

STS yesterday (so still at my target weight of under 11st 7lb) but up to 11st 8lb this morning.

I knew that that would happen as the prodigal son returned from Aberdeen Uni yesterday and we had a takeaway from Sarti's (his favourite restaurant) of pizzas. We're in Level 3 so restaurants have to shit at 6, as if we'd have been able to go out I'd have chosen a more Boot Camp compatible option. Blush

I did only eat 3/4 of mine and it was lovely Wink so ds can enjoy a quarter cold this morning Halo

Water, water, water today Grin

Mimosa1 · 15/12/2020 10:15

200g on for me this week, 600g over 2 weeks but I'm ok with this as I'm experimenting with maintenance at BMI of 24 and a bit. I'm weighing every day so I can pull back. So far, I've really only added non LC fruit. I'm so good at losing, this maintenance piece is really hard. My plan is to keep experimenting w maintenance, not go too mad with booze over the holiday as I don't especially miss it. I'd rather splurge on foods I love iyswim, plus I'll be supervising small children by the pool if I get to travel. Lots of swimming and exercise and I hope to come back motivated for the Jan BC. 3 lbs lost this BC is still good for me as these are the hardest lbs to lose - thank you @BIWI

Shock

I was dreading us moving into Tier 3 but didn't realise this was also one of the consequences Wink Grin

It's my pleasure @Mimosa1 - but really you are the one who did all the hard work!

I am very envious of your soon-to-be-had sunshine too.

I was thinking today about the old saying, “the best time to start is three months ago, but the second best time to start is today.”

It will be so nice in January to know that we DID start three months ago.

Takingontheundead · 15/12/2020 11:44

Have decided to play with an eggfast for a few days, a little extra push before Christmas so to speak.

I've just had (3)scrambled eggs in butter.

Will have an (3) omlette with a tiny bit of cheese later. Ill whack the oil in to keep me full and keep the water way up. Scared to get constipated!

Anything to add @stuntnun? Xx

StuntNun · 15/12/2020 11:46

Taking in my opinion the egg fast is too low in protein therefore I favour adding a small amount of lean protein each day, for example a tin of tuna or sardines, or a small (227g) steak.

Yes! I'm loving this
BurningGubbins · 15/12/2020 15:16

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. Had a sudden realisation that I am probably going to need to buy some new work clothes!

What’s the theory behind the egg fast? Is it that it’s ultra low carb?

StuntNun · 15/12/2020 15:54

Burning the theory is that eggs are rich in choline which is super satiating. So on the egg fast you might only eat 6 or 7 eggs in a day but feel full. You have to eat one tablespoon of fat for every egg and you can have small amounts of cheese. 7 eggs plus 7 tablespoons of butter plus an ounce of cheese is 1500 calories so it isn't particularly low calorie but people lose 2-3 pounds in a few days. You do the egg fast for all three meals for three days then on the fourth day you have two egg meals and on the fifth day you have one egg meal. Some strange people do it every week but on Bootcamp it's more used to shed weight fast, for example holiday weight gain, or to change things up as a stall breaker. I've done it a couple of times but I love eggs. I put my food intake into My Fitness Pal and found the protein intake was lower than my body's minimum requirement, hence my suggestion to add some lean protein each day.

Takingontheundead · 15/12/2020 16:13

Fab, thanks. I'm a bit shocked at myself for the faddyness but I've been getting less strict with things like nut intake etc and last night I found myself thinking, hmm, a whole 100g bar of 85% lindt is only 19g... i could eat the whole thing!

Which is insane cos 85% so so bitter for a start 🤣 but i realised then there's obviously been a shift in my mindset to be thinking these things so some hard and fast rules for a couple of days might help refocus.

Do you have any favourite recipes? So far scrambled eggs and cheese omelette is all i got and eggs make me feel squiffy if i think about them too long. Unlikey to eat boiled on its own.

Lyrata · 15/12/2020 16:20

@Takingontheundead I really enjoy scrambled eggs with feta - the feta makes them really creamy and the sharpness cuts through the fat of the eggs (which can sometimes make me feel a bit urk if I eat too many).

Mimosa1 · 15/12/2020 16:58

I love "omelettes aux fines herbes" - I think definitely parsley and chives are in there. Maybe tarragon or chervil too? There are lots of frozen chopped fresh herb packs in the supermarkets that are fab for that sort of thing.

wormthatturned · 15/12/2020 18:18

Thank you for being here everyone. I haven't been an active participant in the threads recently but I've checked in from time to time and you've kept me from totally de-railing.
This has worked for me even though I've had many lapses.
Hope my graph shows that koko strategy gets there slowly in the end.
Thanks again!

My DH made a no bake keto pecan cheesecake in lieu of a birthday cake for me today. High in calories but only 6g carbs per small serving. It was delicious.

I wish I liked eggs enough to consider an egg fast. Good luck @Takingontheundead

I've put The Obesity Code on my Xmas list, I really think I'd benefit from being better educated.
