Low Carb Bootcamp Léger! Notre quatre semaine est ici!

BIWI · 15/06/2020 07:33

It's Monday! So soon! Wink

Morning all.

Ici, c'est le début de notre quatre semaine du Bootcamp. C'est léger est pas ordinaire.

... which means we can relax things slightly.

Some fruit is allowed in moderation - mainly berries. Nuts and seeds in moderation, and alcohol very much in moderation.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness if you need to, check the rules for Bootcamp Light on the tabs there.

If you're happy on 'ordinary' Bootcamp, then by all means continue. If you were finding intermittent fasting was helping you, then you could also consider trying to extend the length of time you've been fasting - so if you were managing 12:12, try working up to 16:8. If you were managing 16:8, see how much long you can extend that for. Just don't let it go so long that you get too hungry and are tempted to cheat.

Alternatively, you could do a hybrid, so strict Bootcamp during the week and Bootcamp Light at the weekend.

We only have two weeks left of this Bootcamp, so let's get/keep focused, and see what we can do!

Hello all,
Well done all on the losses.

I think I am the same weight, but our scales are dodgy as hell ( my excuse anyway).

I made some seed crackers yesterday,in anticipation of the relaxation of the rules. They are very nice and give that crunch I have been missing.
It's essentially lots of linseed with pumpkin and sunflowers seeds thrown in. Mixed to a gloop with water, salt and any spices you like and baked in a low oven til crisp.

Very nice indeed.
Smile

Hi everyone! 🌷🌷

This is my week 2 weigh in. I’m not keeping track of weekly increments as I’m not on the spreadsheet and I can’t be bothered to refer back to previous week’s weight every time, so I’ll just be posting cumulative loss every weigh-in day.

So far, in two weeks, it’s 2.3kg lost (5.071 lbs), which I’m very happy with.

Good luck this week everyone, KOKO!

Eggbound · 15/06/2020 13:40

I'm wondering if it's OK to join you from today? Due to a family birthday on the weekend (and all the inevitable treats - fatal), I knew I'd fail miserably if I started sooner. It means I'm on super-strict Week 1 though (which I'd still like to do) - so I'll be out of sync with you all. Is that OK?

I've had some success with intermittent fasting/The Fast 800 before, as in it's worked for me, but then something's come up - a meal out, a special occasion, PMT - and I've come off the wagon and not got back on. I'm hoping, this time around, to stay on (or at least get straight back on if I wobble) and finally shift the stubborn 2 stones I need to lose to get back to my default-until-I-was-about-35 weight of somewhere between 10st and 10st 7lb.

So far so good today (one coffee and one omelette down) ...

Hoping it's OK to join, and hoping you're all beginning to get the results you want.

SparklesAllOver · 15/06/2020 13:41

Checking in a bit late to see if scales would move a little more the other way, but just a 0.6 lb loss. Mea culpa - spent afternoon yesterday with friends, had a roast dinner with 2 potatoes, yorkshire pud, all washed down with lots of lovely wine, BUT, avoided all desserts but ate my weight in cheeseBlush. Gonna do a runner now from BIWI and her big stick! Will KOKO now as enjoying this WOE. Good luck for this week, all!

blueglassandfreesias · 15/06/2020 13:52

Thanks BIWI.
Breakfast:
2 Meatsters.
2 cream coffee.
Lunch:
Greens with beef Bolognese

Dinner will be Salmon fillet, green veg in butter, butter roasted celeriac.

MrsTerryPratchett · 15/06/2020 14:06

1/2 a pound here. at week 3.

I'll be doing strict IF (probably 18:6) and light at the weekend.

Ninkanink · 15/06/2020 14:13

Welcome Eggbound.

I’ll be doing two meals a day as always (but not strictly IF as I have a coffee with cream every morning on waking, and a couple of teas with milk if I feel like it).

I don’t do specify weekday bootcamp/lite at weekends, as I like to be flexible. So I aim for two days of lite per week.

prettybird · 15/06/2020 14:14

3/4lb off this week: down to 11st 11lb. Smile That's 8lb (plus - I didn't admit to 1/2lb Blush) since the start of Boot CampSmile

Only 1.25lb to go to reach my Boot Camp target Grin - although I won't be stopping there as I've got another 8lb to go to get to where I was at the start of Lockdown and around a stone to get to where I'd planned (prior to the Pandemic) to be by mid May, when we were going to be going to Australia on a big family holiday Sad

Ran 4.86km this morning (as well as doing Level of Jillian Michaels "Ripped" DVD - the one with the dreaded burpees) - 35 minutes, which was faster than Friday even though I didn't feel as good Confused Nearly at 5km Smile trying not to dwell on the fact that I am now running per km what I used to be able to run per mile Hmm

Hopeislost · 15/06/2020 14:20

With the advent of Bootcamp Light, where do we stand on things like Keto bread, fathead pizza etc? Ok in moderation?

Eggbound · 15/06/2020 14:21

@prettybird, that all sounds really positive. I'd be very happy to see 11st on the scales again (I'm starting at 12st 7lb). Bravo!

Thanks for the welcome, @Ninkanink. Do you have a snack between your two meals? It seems like a looooong six hours between lunch and dinner, and I fear the 4pm cave. If I can manage that, I can envisage a long-term move to two meals a day.

Ifeelfat · 15/06/2020 14:29

NumbsMet thanks, that looks awesome, just what I was looking for. Is it sad to put it on my birthday list?

Ninkanink · 15/06/2020 14:32

As per bootcamp rules, if I’m hungry I’ll have a snack. There is absolutely no benefit in not eating just for the sake of it, nor in trying not to snack between meals - if hungry, eat something that is on the allowed list.

I usually eat my first meal of the day at about two o’clock. But I’m not hard and fast about it, and on the odd occasion that I do fancy breakfast, I have it.

I just don’t eat until I’m actually hungry. That also applies to lunch. Some days I’m not hungry at lunch, so I’ll have a small snack in the afternoon, and then a bigger dinner (heavy on the veg) to ensure I’ve had enough nutrients. Conversely, sometimes I’m very hungry at lunch so I’ll have a bigger meal and then I won’t be very hungry in the evening, if at all. If I don’t want a massive dinner I’ll it keep it very light and again, heavy on the veg, but I do try to have something to ensure I’m getting as wide a range of nutrients daily.

Low carb/high fat way of eating is a natural appetite suppressant so once you are fully fat adapted it’s quite common to go for fairly long periods without being hungry.

1WildTeaParty · 15/06/2020 14:37

Mint tea and water until noon

B: Greek yogurt with 1 spoonful of alpine strawberries and 1 spoonful of roasted rhubarb (with orange zest but no sugar/sweetener)
creamy coffee and black coffee

If hungry:
L (early afternoon tea) hardboiled egg with smoky mayo and lettuce
ginger and lemon tea - cold
water

D Chilli (pork and lamb mince) with asparagus/broccoli
water
mint tea

NumbsMet · 15/06/2020 14:44

@ifeelfat of course not Grin I hope your birthday is soon! Xx

Sauvignonismysaviour · 15/06/2020 15:51

There's rumours of us getting a takeaway curry later this week so please can anyone suggest any dishes that are within tolerance please? Last time I had one I put 2.5lbs on so clearly went wrong somewhere!

Ninkanink · 15/06/2020 16:04

No rice, no breads, no bhajis/samosas/etc. Tandoori chicken (or other meats) are good. Veg curries. Stay away from legumes or pulses, don’t eat too much of the sauce.

adviceatthislatestage · 15/06/2020 16:24

2lbs in this week and have no excuses. I took my eye off the ball and started getting a bit lax in my mfp and discounting the odd snack here and there.

Bit of a wake up call so back on track from today.

Dinner tonight will be salt and pepper pork belly with huge salad or mountains of veg- not decided yet.

Well done to all those who have continued to lose. The spreadsheet shows some great results.

If anyone wants a mfp buddy, feel free to to add me - I'm razg26

Leflic · 15/06/2020 16:36

Ifeelfat
My scales sa Fdhnn n ncccnb y different things at different places in the house. So I line them up in the same place on the laminate floor now.

I did low carb very strictly to get into my wedding dress. What I found was weight didn’t shift but my apple shape did. I measured by widest but ( low tummy) and under my bust and Iost inches. In six weeks I went from 36 inches of wobbly tummy to 31 and 34 to 30 round the top. Most diets just mean I get smaller but still have a big tummy.

CalendulaAndRoses · 15/06/2020 16:53

Hello all - well done on the loss to those who had some and KOKO to everyone else, which includes me

  • 1lb this week but I am not surprised due to the week 3 syndrome as well as the fact that it was my daughter's 18th over the weekend so I pushed the boat out and had the cake (2 slices Shock) AND the champagne (2 glasses Shock) AND the red wine (3 glasses ShockShock) I enjoyed every minute too though am again reminded of my inability to say no to another glass when I start drinking alcohol and wondering whether I need to do something about that. And I do feel more of a hangover today that I feel is right or proper, which is another reason to do something about it, if one were needed

Anyway, back on bandwagon today and sticking with ordinaire for this week due to my indiscretions

Freetodowhatiwant · 15/06/2020 17:13

Welcome @Eggbound and yes of course you can join at anytime. Well it's no my bootcamp initiative but I am assuming everyone is welcome :)

Talking of the bathroom scales showing different things in different spots on the tiles, I weighed myself after I managed to 'get the bowels moving' and I have actually lost some this week after all. Sorry for the TMI but I know I am not the only one suffering from a slow down in the bowels dept!

My appetite has definitely waned a lot, hopefully that means I am fat adapted rather than just sick of my not great cooking skills. I am off to my parents' place this evening and they are going to make me a big salad.

CalendulaAndRoses · 15/06/2020 17:15

just caught up with the end of the week 3 thread which had missed due to busy weekend, see I am not alone on the tricky relationship with alcohol front. Made for very interesting reading and am mulling it all over now. My drinking now is a tiny percentage of what it was previously, which is good, but I still find it very very very hard to stop at times. And that annoys me.

Ninkanink · 15/06/2020 17:22

I always weigh on the same spot. And not on carpet.

JustFrigginNameChange · 15/06/2020 17:27

Salut!

So I've gained about 3.5 over 3 weeks... which I think is normal for 2nd trimester. I believe without low carbing it my weight gain would be a lot more!

The baby is so jiggly today

Ragwort · 15/06/2020 18:50

Just got home from work - exhausted, my body isn't used to a full days work (retail - getting the shop ready so on my feet all day Grin).

Usually I would pour myself a large white wine served with crisps but I made an iced coffee (strong black coffee with a splash of cream) - delicious and a couple of small pieces of cheese to nibble.

Dinner will be chicken thighs, big green salad & homemade guacamole.

Rshard · 15/06/2020 19:05

Welcome eggbound, perfect name for this woe.

Il always weigh in the same spot in the bathroom, top right corner of the scales goes in the top right corner of the same plank of wood.

Had some sea bass for dinner tonight, just seasoned and fried. It was so simple and delicious.
