@SophieRay
worried not exercising will affect weight loss for this week though and I was getting into a good habit with it.
You don't need to exercise to lose weight. It's good thing to do for your general health, and I wanted everyone to keep exercise in their plan last week as part of the whole 'refocusing' effort, but if you follow Bootcamp rules you will lose weight.
It's actually a bit of a myth that you have to exercise to lose weight. Commonly said on the internet is that weight loss is 80% diet and only 20% exercise. Dr Jason Fung though, who wrote The Obesity Code, argues that it's 95% diet and 5% exercise!
When I was running regularly, I used Map My Run to record my performance, and I was shocked to realise that running 5K, so a 30 minute run, burns just over 300 calories. So you'd have to do a lot of running (or other exercise) to seriously make a difference to your weight.
There's also the homeostasis factor that comes into play - you've burnt more calories so your body tells you that you need more. You're hungry, in other words.
Then add in the psychological element 'I've been good, so I deserve some ...' - and you can see that things fight against weight loss if you're purely doing exercise!
