Evening campers!

Setting this up now, as I had a bad night last night so I'm sloping off to bed early

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

First Monday in forever where Monday's weight was actually less than Friday's weight. I've been stuck in a loop of off by Friday, back on by Monday.

Cheese/cream and booze on the weekends do that to me, which is why I needed the reset. And I eat breakfast on the weekends generally as well. DH cooks and I eat it, even though I'm not really hungry. I had a very rule-bound weekend this time.

8lbs for me this week. Which is wonderful. But I wasn't going to post it. Because I know from MY OWN experience that when you've 'only' lost 1-2 or stayed the same it feels like a failure to hear about other people's big losses. But if it wasn't for BC I know I would be steadily gaining. Because that's what happens when I eat carbs. From now on it'll be 1-2 or none for me I'm sure. And other people will get the bigger losses if they stick to the rules.

It's the other benefits as well. No IBS this week. After the initial headache no migraines. No bloated stomach and wondering if I should buy Spanx (I threw them away partially because of BC). No ravenous hunger and craving things I know I shouldn't eat. Softer skin. I need less sleep and feel less tired (eventually).

I’ve lost 3lbs. I started on Thursday though but I have been sticking to around 1000 calories or just under, MFP keeps telling me off but I’m ignoring it. I’m also doing the 16/8 and skipping breakfast which I don’t mind as I’m not usually hungry in the mornings now. I’d like to keep that going but I’m not sure if I’ll manage once I go back to work, whenever that will be. I’m going to keep going and see how I get on.

BIWI · 01/06/2020 14:43

But @Linnet you won't be calorie counting any more, will you?!

From now on, it's about keeping the carbs low and the fat high. No need to count the calories.

Breakfast was 2 boiled eggs and spinach with butter at 10am
Lunch: 2 boiled eggs and half a can of tuna with 1 teaspoon mayo.
plus LOTS of romaine lettuce.
Dinner will be a small steak / burger, and more buttered spinach / FTGV. Plus 3l water and 1 cafetiere of coffee 1st thing. Hope this is okay.

OldLace · 01/06/2020 15:00

Not sure if that is enough fat? Maybe a fattier chop?
I'd like to have some cheese as my calcium is low.
So maybe 2 slices of emmental as snacks?
OR some fullfat yoghurt for breakfast /snack instead?

BrassicaBabe · 01/06/2020 15:05

I'm delighted by my 0.8lb loss Grin

L: coleslaw and hot smoked salmon fillet
D: pork chop and LC bbq sauce, more coleslaw
Exercise: hmm. Already know I can't be arsed today and shouldn't kid myself Grin

prettybird · 01/06/2020 15:40

I've just reminded myself that radishes with a smear of salted butter make a lovely crunch snack Smile (something i used to be served during my year in France a loooong time ago).

It would be better if the salted butter was cold and hard, not soft, but the crunch from the radish is still lovely. Grin

I've also run out of Beurre d'Issigny Shock. I can feel a run up to Sainsbury's being on the cards this week Wink

NoraEphronsneck · 01/06/2020 16:17

I've had a good week too. 5lb off which I'm pleased with. Only calorie counted first theee days but didn't bother after that

Not much exercising happening either, only walking every other day but will keep plugging away at that - I usually dons more weight I loose the more I want to exercise to keep it going.

Loving IF, really suits me and mostly going 17hours if I'm busy and haven't realised the time. And not bothered at all what other people are eating.

It's my birthday today. My DD brought around my favourite ice-lollies and Ferrero Rocher - and I just put them away saying I'd have some later because I'd only just brushed my teeth.

My DH also produced a Victoria sponge and everyone had a slice with a coffee and it didn't bother me one bit.

I am so content at the moment after feeling lethargic last week.

notacooldad · 01/06/2020 16:18

Carb flu. Did you not read my posts in last week's thread about it?
I did! I think that is why I am so disappointed with 0.5lbs weight loss after sticking to the rules, drinking water and taking the regime seriously.
I didnt even give in in my birthday when my friend sent me a selection of cakes and another sent gin! I received a chocolate hamper that I promptly gave away!

BIWI · 01/06/2020 16:32

@notacooldad - how much weight do you have to lose? You haven't entered anything on the spreadsheet.

3lb lost here. Must admit to feeling a bit disappointed as stuck to IF and 800-1000 calories and low carbs for the full week so was thinking it would equate to bigger loss.

1Wildheartsease · 01/06/2020 17:19

Very happy with loss this week. It wasn't easy but it worked so well that I'm back to pre-lockdown-drinking/eating for reasons other than hunger.

I'll drop the calorie-counting (though keep in mind the portion-sizes). It does cause me to fuss about food more and to avoid good fats.

Previous calorie-controlled diest usually just made me tired and cold instead of lighter and thinner.

However, I'll have a go at continuing the IF with our bootcamp ordinaire. I like what I've read about the health effects and it does make my eating window smaller (and so more controlled without too much thinking).

3lbs is great though!

4lbs off here as well. Pretty chuffed with that as for some reason I normally lose more the second week of a more mindful eating.

devoncreamtea · 01/06/2020 17:39

More great losses rolling in! It’s very inspiring to read!
Today I ate the usual scrambled eggs avocado and had 2 bits of jolly hog streaky bacon.
L was some roll ups during my extended and faffy trip to supermarket
D is chicken thigh riasted with salad from the canoe (!!! DH planted up an old canoe in case lockdown meant we couldn’t get to allotment 🤣) a AS nd asparagus, broccoli and a bit of garlic mayo.
Beach this morning for a swim and surf with kids as conditions good (except for a massive jellyfish...😬) and later I am sooo excited to be meeting my friend for a dog walk 😊 can’t wait to see her!

BeyondDreamsOfBeyondFourWalls · 01/06/2020 17:43

Chicken thigh, cauliflower egg fried rice with other green veg, and salad with hm mayo. Stunning!

SophieRay · 01/06/2020 17:53

Beyonddreams - hadn't thought of doing egg fried rice with the cauliflower rice, that's a good idea - thanks for sharing!

AthelstaneTheUnready · 01/06/2020 18:17

Well, of those who've already recorded, you'll be pleased to hear we've lost over 362lbs between us in just 7 days.

Cool, huh?

bibliomania · 01/06/2020 18:20

We lost a person! Two people! Or three smallish ones

BIWI · 01/06/2020 18:23

Wow! That's fantastic!

I have struggled on the spreadsheet with my ipad and phone. I am going to try my desk top or lap top.
I have 4 stone to lose. I've started at 14.2.

Randomfatty · 01/06/2020 18:37

Hi all - been busy and not been able to post in the morning as usual. It’s good to hear about everyone’s losses as its quite motivating!
Quick question - as we don’t count calories now, are we still keeping carbs under 60g or 40g @BIWI - just be useful so I can plan my meals. I’ll still be keeping with the IF as most days I’ve found it fairly easy and it’s good to feel hungry!

ExShield · 01/06/2020 18:42

I had bacon lardons fried with mushroom and spring onion, added to LOADS of spinach, and then baked with an egg on the top. It was very very good.

SophieRay · 01/06/2020 18:48

Just had the most amazing (and simple!) dinner - corned beef melted into a ton of chopped tomatoes with a huge pack of mushrooms and some butter and a stock cube then put in a dish topped with loads of cheese and bunged in the oven for 20 minutes. It was divine (think I described my eggs this morning as divine - clearly enjoying my food today Grin).

B: eggs with butter, salt and pepper
L: Salami and cheese
Afternoon snack: more eggs with butter and salt
D: as already mentioned
Oxo drink and two cups black tea
Supposed to be on three litres of water, but on either four or five now
Electrolytes came and on third one of them
No exercise
Feeling much better now though Smile

SquishyBones · 01/06/2020 18:48

Breakfast - coffee with cream
Lunch - some left over BBQ chicken wings and a chunk of left over pork joint
Dinner - salmon fried it butter with cheesy cauliflower and broccoli.

Can’t say I enjoyed any of it as today I have lost my sense of taste and smell ... along with my appetite (I know, I’m monitoring it 😞)
