Good evening!

Trying to get ahead of everything, as I know tomorrow will be a real rush with people signing up, etc.

Here's the spreadsheet with many thanks to the ever lovely @AthelstaneTheUnready for her sterling efforts

Bold fail. 350 cals though? WTF!!!

TheOriginalMrsMoss · 31/05/2020 21:04

Dinner next week I've got (in no particular order);

Steaks with flavoured butter (garlic/chilli) with salad
Lasagne (mine will be with layered with courgette and topped with cheddar)
Loaded burgers with homemade coleslaw

I've got quite a few leftovers from this week so there will be a pick n mix leftovers night and a takeaway - probably grilled chicken kebab.

I'm going to have very small lunches - salad with some protein or bouillon soup.

BrassicaBabe · 31/05/2020 21:07

Yep ExShield the calories in mayo was my biggest "reveal" moment of ultra boot camp too. Quite a shocker for me.

I had 4 individual chips people. FOUR Not bad eh Grin

Don’t even think about that next week. Honestly. Forget calories and follow LCHF. Trust me.
AthelstaneTheUnready · 31/05/2020 21:21

Another on the mayo surprise here. As was the amount of double cream I shouldn't have been having in coffee. As was the portion sizes of just about everything else Blush

Next week includes more duck, some pork belly, and the rest of the roast chicken I had tonight. Had it with the first massive colander of chard and perp. spinach out of the garden, which was fabulous. Otherwise veg next week is back to broccoli, leeks, garlic, mushrooms, spring onions, and whatever airy herb stuff the garden gives me for salads.

😇 BrassicaBabe !!

Why small lunches, MrsMoss?

AthelstaneTheUnready · 31/05/2020 21:26

Over 30 MrsK!

That's horrible. For doing anything, I mean, apart from lying down drinking ice in the shade. North of the Arctic Circle for me when I retire.

I remember an awful week long conference in Thailand where all us northern europeans couldn't get from one building to another in the heat, so they had to rearrange all the agendas so we could stay in the one building all day.

prettybird · 31/05/2020 21:27

After an enjoyable day working in the garden, a trip over to have some tea (rooibos) in the garden with my dad, dh and I sat out and enjoyed the early evening sun. He had some Rosé wine, while I made myself of strawberry, cucumber and mint infused water.

We then came in and I made a warm salad with added bacon and eggs mollet (soft yolk, firm white), plus left overs (half a homemade burger, plus griddled courgette and asparagus from our braai). Very fresh and very filling. Smile

I'll echo @ShagMeRiggins - why are you doing this? Next week isn't about low calorie.

@BIWI not planning anything in particular re. too much fat. Just wondered if it was possible to overdo it I.e. 2 creamy coffees, meat fried in butter, veg fried in butter again, a drizzle of olive oil on a salad, grated cheddar on top of meal.... so there is no limit to the amount of fat you can have in a day?

TheOriginalMrsMoss · 31/05/2020 22:20

I have lots of weight to lose and I'm doing a long IF window. This week I've experimented with it a bit, really observing when I feel hungry and I have found that if I'm drinking the required amount of water I just don't feel hungry until about 2pm. We sit down to eat a family meal around 6pm so I've found I don't need as much as I thought I did at 'lunchtime' which is when I break the fast. I'm finding it interesting to observe when I actually feel hungry and it's not that often. I'm a habitual eater, a bored snacker and I'm not good at portion size. I'm trying to tune in to my real appetite more because I've overrode it for so long.

Trust me I'm not low calorie Grin. I am finding that a really decent satisfying dinner and cutting all snacking is making me feel far, far less hungry.

I'm willing to bet you couldn't keep that up. Carbs make you want more and more. Fat, you start to look at your plate and think "I'm done". The only exceptions for me are cheese mmmmm cheese and creamy things. Careful with dairy basically.

LostaraYil · 31/05/2020 22:40

I haven't particularly minded calorie counting as it made me realise that I was eating a ridiculous amount before! I'll have a go at dropping it and hope I still lose, but it's a good thing to keep in mind in case of stalling. I think my problem on low carb has previously been too much cream and cheese, but the rules say to limit dairy so I will try to do that.
2h walk today, which helped me skip breakfast.
L-salad with bacon and avocado
Snack- coffee with cream
D- steak with peppercorn butter and homemade coleslaw
The steak and butter was over 500 cal so went over 1200 total today! Still only 25g carbs.
Good luck everyone for the weigh in tomorrow :)

BeyondDreamsOfBeyondFourWalls · 31/05/2020 22:40

Mmm dairy......

That bacon cheeseburger bake thing was as lush as it looked btw :)

Looking forward to the weigh in as I'm definitely feeling a lot less bloated in the waist area

SquishyBones · 01/06/2020 05:34

I’m pissed off! When I weighed myself yesterday I was 11st 1lb. This morning I’ve woken up with horrendous stomach ache (so probably have something to get rid of in there!) and I weigh 11st 3lbs!! Trust it to be weigh in day that my stomach is playing up.

I was tempted to put yesterday’s weight on the chart instead of today’s but I feel like it would be cheating so I’ve put today’s weight down ... giving me a total weight loss of 2lbs 🙄

Mummyoflittledragon · 01/06/2020 05:38

Squishy
BIWI said way upthread if you’re weighing in and weighing yourself daily, you can record the lowest point in the week. For me that’s today, but nothing wrong with yesterday for you from what I understand. 😊

SquishyBones · 01/06/2020 06:45

Ah! I didn’t see that! I dunno, if I leave it as it is it will make next weeks weight loss look more impressive I suppose 😂

8lb loss for me this week, which I'm really pleased with. Took progress pics and cannot see where those 8lb have come off! However, when measuring 4cm off my stomach - 4cm is clearly too small to be noticeable in a picture I guess. Still feeling really tired despite having 8 hours sleep, electrolytes arriving today and will have oxo drink this morning. Was doing really well with the exercise but didn't go for my 5k walk last night and not been this morning - will see how I feel after work, worried not exercising will affect weight loss for this week though and I was getting into a good habit with it. Not continuing with IF as I am hungry in a morning, so if I don't have to be I'll be more likely to stick to it. Going to boil some eggs to mash with butter as that feels comforting somehow.

Well done everyone on the great losses. Will post on spreadsheet later when I'm at desktop as won't work on my phone.

TheSnootiestFox · 01/06/2020 08:55

10lb loss for me this week Grin I'm delighted. I've lived of yoghurt and chicken broth though. I'm going to do the super strict thing until I've lost the first stone and then ease up I think! I can't do the unlimited low carb thing you talk about - I've tried several times and never lost a thing....I'm obviously destined to count calories for life Hmm
