Morning campers! Flowers

Here's the spreadsheet

Sounds like a bit of a mixed week, so hopefully the scales (or tape measure!) have been kind to you, otherwise @MrsTerryPratchett is going to need a bigger patio!

Sorry to hear about the surgery @Sittingonthesidelines, but glad all is well. Hopefully he'll be home soon.

And hope that your surgery went well @NigellaAwesome

So we're in the last three weeks - still time to lose a good chunk of fat. But only, of course, if you stick to the rules ... Grin

Good luck to everyone.

Hallo everyone. Still bobbing about the same weight of 163. Would love to get into 150s before end of BC.

I’m definitely eating too much I think, berries and cream and also wine. I think I’ve slipped into maintenance without meaning to

18pages what is TRE?

18pagesfrontandback · 05/07/2019 11:56

Time restricted eating Almahart 16:8 or 18:6 etc. Basically just dividing your 24 hours into a period in which you eat and a period in which you fast (if you weren’t aware).

So for me, I go all day only having my coffees with cream and fuck loads of water, then my usual evening meal at sometime between 7-9. Which is high fat and I don’t scrimp on portions, eating til satiety. I do this on Mon-Fri and then whatever I want (within LC) on weekend, when I may or may not have wine too. I don’t drink during week, but in theory I could if I built it in to carbs.

This is the second week I’ve tried it, and it seems to be working for me because I had slowed right down. And as I said in pp, I think it helps adjust my possible overeating/veg carbing in other meals. I didn’t used to eat breakfast (never) or lunch (most days) before dd/working from home. Out of appetite based choice rather than necessity. It’s become a parenthood habit. So maybe my body naturally prefers this sort of eating pattern? I’m only short so allegedly don’t need much a day Hmm

Almahart · 05/07/2019 12:00

Ah okay that’s really interesting. I had naturally fallen into a pattern of 12:8 but might try some fasting. I think I would be fine with it.

Am not sure whether to go into maintenance at the end of this BC or whether to power on to shift another half a stone

Holiday this year is mid August. That would give me another five weeks or so

18pagesfrontandback · 05/07/2019 12:11

‘Today we’re making homemade jam, minus the fat... 250g berries plus 250g sugar...’

Erm... Someone have a word with MN towers. So much wrong with that video.

FAT IS GOOD

SUGAR IS NOT

JAM IS NOT HIGH FAT. IT’S HIGH SUGAR WHICH LEADS TO GAINING FAT.

BASIC NUTRITION!

Hmm

Or is it just me?

At first I thought I’d misread the subtitles (sound off), but it clearly says faT not faff. Low faff would be a better description for this recipe. Better yet, take 250g berries. The. End.

*pms may be occurrin’ Confused

18pagesfrontandback · 05/07/2019 12:16

Well we are very similar weights, though I’m not sure where you need to get to, and I too am desperate to get into 150’s. Can’t honestly remember the last time that happened. So if you want company getting there I’m your camper!

I will definitely be continuing after bootcamp. No stopping for me now until end of Aug when go on hols. And will still not be at target by then so will have to force my arse back up onto the wagon in September and KOKO for as long as it takes.

Almahart · 05/07/2019 12:19

Okay you’re on 18pages. Another five pounds or so will drop me down to the next dress size - I started a 14-16 and would love to get to be a 12

Notwatchingtvtoday · 05/07/2019 12:29

I’m on for keeping going too, we go away the 26th August so plenty of time to shift 8 lbs if I stick to it .

By the way I think it is the berries and cream that has stalled my weight loss this week, so I’m going to Stop having that and hope to see the lbs start to shift again. Interestingly if I don’t have enough water I also start to go off the rails with food.

NigellaAwesome · 05/07/2019 12:42

Friday weigh in - another 3 pounds off, which brings me into Onederland at 198 pounds!!! That's 1 measly pound to go until I have lost 2 stone. I'm pretty sure a long overdue visit to the bathroom would sort that out by Monday. I also only have 2 pounds to go until my September 2018 weight which was pre-stress fuckery weight.

Rshard · 05/07/2019 14:59

Another one with a holiday in August, so I’ll be hanging around too.

I’ve laid off the berries this week too notwatching, think my yoghurt portions were too big as well.

Well done on the 3lbs nigella!

18pagesfrontandback · 05/07/2019 18:48

Sometimes I think just shaking things up a bit can help. So maybe just dropping something for a week here or there.

Nigella that’s great news! So nice to hit a milestone. And congrats on the 2 stone, that’s an amazing achievement!

Indian takeaway here tonight. My usual dishes of shashlick, sag paneer and aubergine probably. Have raging pms which is making me feel like a furnace and like a tired grouchy old goat (though that might be the 5a.m start today Hmm) so might need to avoid being alone with any chocolate tonight... But other than that it’s KOKO into the final fortnight.

prettybird · 05/07/2019 19:10

I was just looking at where I was this time last year: a stone lighter Hmm

But the important thing is that I'm half a stone lighter than when I started this Boot Camp Smile

I'd lost over a stone on last May's Boot Camp - but I think part of it was that a) the extra weight that I'd put on hadn't "set" as much as this time round and b) I'd actually done a bit of Boot Camp and egg fasting before starting the current Boot Camp so didn't get the initial whoosh Wink and because I was avoiding stepping on the scales until I'd had some progress Blush

I might do an egg fast the week after next week (have already got the menus and shopping done for next week), as there's a garden party at the end of the month that I want to be able to wear one of my summer dresses to (fortunately, it was delayed from end June, which is when our friend usually has it Wink)

Today we had people over for lunch (never met her or her dp before: gave her some advice on Scotsnet before she moved to Scotland Smile) Made the Robert Carrier Avocado, Cheese, Almond, tomato and cucumber salad (recipe in the veggie thread) and a platter of Parma ham, torn mozzarella and rocket (from the garden) drizzled with olive oil. Forwent the sourdough bread Wink - but did have a glass of white wine Grin

Plenty of salad left over, so that's my supper, while dh and ds have Lidl curries.

Doilooklikeatourist · 05/07/2019 20:01

Tried the meatzza margarita this evening , omg it’s delicious !
We had loads of green salad under it ( shared with DH ) , and we also had a Texan slammer each
Wouldn’t have the slammer again , but a meatzza ( or 3 ) will definitely be kept in the freezer for emergencies
Still off the alcohol ,👍doing well

B 3 scrambled eggs
L boiled egg , ham and coleslaw
D meatzza , slammer and salad
Note to self , no cheese !
That’s unusual for me 🐭

Will be interested to weigh in on Monday , feeling like I’m making progress at last , got my self in the right frame of mind and stopped fannying around ( and cheating myself )

My birthday in August , and DS and his GF coming to stay for a weekend , so lots to look forward to 😀

MrsBertBibby · 05/07/2019 20:12

Tomorrow is going to mess me up. My Dad will be 80 soon, and his older brother recently had a big scare (they thought perforated bowel) although now they think just inflamed. Anyway, his illness means we have to go there, and his wife is not one to host, so we're having pub lunch. I am praying for a salad of some description, as otherwise Christ knows what will be on offer.

ChippingInLowCarbing · 05/07/2019 20:18

MrsBB you’re veggie too aren’t you? It’s hard eating out.

Good luck!

Rshard · 05/07/2019 20:39

The meatzza are good aren’t they doilooklike, what was it you weren’t keen on about the slammers? I’ve not tried those yet.

Do you know which pub it is mrsbert, would it be possible to check out the menu?

Doilooklikeatourist · 05/07/2019 21:39

@Rshard , it was the jalapeño in the middle ( Vair hot 🌶) and the cheese had oozed out ( and burnt on the tin)
Would have liked it better with a creamy cheesy filling
Nice though

MrsBertBibby · 05/07/2019 21:52

Yep, veggie. It is hard. I think I have found the pub, it does a Greek salad, although they add potato salad to it. Confused

MrsBertBibby · 05/07/2019 21:58

Greek salad really isn't my idea of a celebratory lunch, though!

Maybe the mysterious "Turkish specials" will produce some Mediterranean delight without chick peas or couscous.

Doilooklikeatourist · 05/07/2019 22:20

I had an awful Greek salad recently
Bowl of little gem lettuce , cold sliced tomato, 1 anchovy , sliced brined olives and about 4 cubes of feta
I asked for salad dressing , and was told they didn’t have any , offered me some malt vinegar and some sachets of salt
Hope it will be better that that tomorrow @MrsBertBibby

MrsBertBibby · 05/07/2019 22:26

Heh, it looks like a place that cares about food, so I should think so!

Rshard · 06/07/2019 08:20

Ah thanks doilooklike, not a huge fan of those myself.

Salads can be so hot and miss and tend to be overpriced in restaurants etc. Hope you find something mrsbert, the Turkish option sounds vaguely promising.

Youwanapizzame · 06/07/2019 08:48

Were off to a smear fete type.thimg today at waddesden manor! Should be nice. Some good food stalls there also "naice" meats n cheeses so I should be ok to eat there!

B omelette
L - mystery
D - Indian takeaway!

Just off to look at the online next sale! Nearly at the top of the queue!

Notwatchingtvtoday · 06/07/2019 09:42

Morning all
Had a good day yesterday until dinner, when the evening ran away with me, as I was having a lovely time replanting a bed in our front garden, that was looking very sorry for itself and so my lovely husband ordered a Thai takeaway as a treat. We never have takeaways , I am going to pop to cook and see what they have that I could pop in the freezer in case this happens again.

I skipped the rice and tried to eat without the sauce, but after a very thirsty night I have gained 2 lbs. He did check it was okay with me and I said yes ! cross with myself as I could have had the prawns and salad that were sitting in the fridge, but lesson learned and am straight back on it today.

So today
B Greek yogurt and butter coffee,
L salad with hard boiled eggs
D chicken thighs marinated in olive oil, garlic and spices, homemade coleslaw and salad, roasted green beans

Notwatchingtvtoday · 06/07/2019 09:43

youwanapizza what the * is a smear fete, I really don’t like the sound of it 😀

prettybird · 06/07/2019 09:58

I did wonder the same notwatchingtvtoday Grin
