Morning campers! Flowers

Here's the spreadsheet

Sounds like a bit of a mixed week, so hopefully the scales (or tape measure!) have been kind to you, otherwise @MrsTerryPratchett is going to need a bigger patio!

Sorry to hear about the surgery @Sittingonthesidelines, but glad all is well. Hopefully he'll be home soon.

And hope that your surgery went well @NigellaAwesome

So we're in the last three weeks - still time to lose a good chunk of fat. But only, of course, if you stick to the rules ... Grin

Good luck to everyone.

Youwana did you break the sausage meat up into little nuggets?

18pagesfrontandback · 03/07/2019 11:32

Ooh I wonder if we could geographically place us all based on cost of highlights Grin £120-130 here for whole head.

MrsBertBibby · 03/07/2019 11:34

I broached the subject of going natural with the hairdresser (currently I am just dyed a similar brown to what I used to be, but it fades as the roots come, so I can usually go nearly 3 months before it starts to look bad (it's long enough to out up, which helos)
But apparently I am still pretty dark round the back (much lighter up front) so I think I will stick to brown for another year.

MrsBertBibby · 03/07/2019 11:35

Bloody hell highlights are dear! I wince at £60 for my colour (Surrey)

ShagMeRiggins · 03/07/2019 11:47

I love the idea of getting some style advice but I’m such a wimp. Maybe one day! I’ve recently gone au natural with my hair colour (85% grey) and have been struggling a bit to not look like death warmed up. My clothes (colours) all look so different too. I gather this is a thing

Yes, it’s a thing. Depending on how long ago your colours were analysed, booking in for a re-rate with your consultant every 7-10 years is hugely worth it.

As for being too much of a wimp for Style...I don’t get that? It’s not sky-diving. Confused

Just do it! Invest in yourself, in all areas of life, like you’re doing with Bootcamp.

Gah, just remembered I have to feed myself and children tonight. Tedious, isn’t it, to learn they’re hungry again... Grin

BIWI · 03/07/2019 12:20

I'm aware I probably pay over the odds for my hair Blush. I go to Rush in SW London, but have been using the same hairdresser for probably 17 or 18 years. She uses 4 different colours to do my hair, so it looks pretty natural when she's finished.

I'm considering asking her if she'll do a home visit - but think that might be a bit cheeky!

I think without my hair, eyelashes and eyebrows being done I'd probably just become invisible Grin

Shagmeriggins Gah, just remembered I have to feed myself and children tonight. Tedious, isn’t it, to learn they’re hungry again...

That's what I've just remembered Shock. It's one of the bits of "adulting" that they don't tell you about Grin.....that you (and/or dh Wink) need to think about what the family is going to eat for night. after. night. Shock

Chillijamntuna · 03/07/2019 12:33

Hi all, Im on day 3, alls going well. How do I add to the spread sheet? Thanks :)

ShagMeRiggins · 03/07/2019 12:36

@AthelstaneTheUnready, please see above and add to spreadsheet?

ShagMeRiggins · 03/07/2019 12:37

prettybird “adulting is vastly overrated but necessary Hmm

VeryLittleOwl · 03/07/2019 12:43

I grew my hair out over a three-year period, knowing that I had a lot of grey, but reasoning that if I went grey at 40 with a relatively young-looking face, I'd still look more or less the same at 60. It didn't work, it just made me look nearer 60, so last year I started going to the hairdresser and getting it done properly rather than home dying and now people think I'm in my late 30s instead of nearly 44. £55 for a full head of highlights, dye the rest one colour and a cut and blow dry, but that's a very small town on the north coast of Scotland.

BIWI · 03/07/2019 12:50

That's exactly it, @VeryLittleOwl. I look much older than I think I look am!

My skin tone is fair and my original/natural colour had some ginger in it (my dad was a complete red head) so I look much better with warm colours. Grey/white hair just looks wrong and washes me out.

@ShagMeRiggins I'd love it for you to do a style consultation - perhaps we should do a Bootcampers day?!

VeryLittleOwl · 03/07/2019 13:00

Same here, BIWI - my mother's a red head and my dad had dark hair and olive skin. I've got red head skin with (now artificially!) dark hair and since I never wear make up, grey just made me vanish.

BIWI · 03/07/2019 13:04

My parents exactly the same, only the other way round - my mum was the one with olive skin. It made going on holiday for them a nightmare! My dad used to burn pretty much the moment he stepped into the sun, whereas my mum loved it and used to get the most amazing tan almost immediately.

Hi, Chilli, you're on!

Chillijamntuna · 03/07/2019 13:07

Thank you :)

AthelstaneTheUnready · 03/07/2019 13:16

Do people want me to add more weeks to the spreadsheet - to cover Pootling Season - or would rather give it a rest for a while?

Shag, you were asking about extra columns to show total weight/weight this bootcamp - it would add about a quarter more to the length of the spreadsheet, but if it's wanted it's simple enough to do?

MrsBertBibby · 03/07/2019 13:26

Ooh, extra columns for pootling would be good!

I have my notebook, but it ain't no spreadsheet!

venusandmars · 03/07/2019 13:31

I got fed up with the faff (and cost) of colouring my hair and a few years ago returned to my natural 'mouse' shade. I still get naturally lighter streaks if I'm in the sun, but as I've now got some grey too, it is difficult to distinguish the two and the overall effect is that I'm blonder and less mousey than a few years ago. But I'm fortunately blessed with my Mum's not-very-grey-hair genes.

Re drinking: I'm one of the originals on the long running Brave Babes threads. Happy for anyone to pm me too (though won't be able to answer until I get back from hols)

ShagMeRiggins · 03/07/2019 14:10

it would add about a quarter more to the length of the spreadsheet

Thanks Athelstane but I think I was just being lazy. Blush

Youwanapizzame · 03/07/2019 14:21

@18pagesfrontandback Yes I broke the meat up - otherwise it would be just like lumpen/burgerish... I guess a meatball bake could have been a good call!

About £150 for highlights and a cut n blow dry near me

@AthelstaneTheUnready - another vote for more columns for pootling season. It might keep me going.

I have plucked out more grey hair in the last 2 months than I have done in the last 5 years. Sigh... I'm still not dying it at 44 so not doing badly but my dad didnt really go grey and I remember his mum having black hair until she was nearly 70... (she could have been dying it however!) my hair is however going to go white... everything coming through is a pure white! I might see how bad it gets but I'm kind of hoping for a cool stripe a the temple ala Morticia!

ShagMeRiggins · 03/07/2019 14:29

BIWI I’ve PM’d some info and ideas about Bootcamp Style Day.

18pagesfrontandback · 03/07/2019 14:31

Funnily enough ShagMe I’ve got a sky diving jump lined up Grin Don’t really know how to explain it, I know in theory you’re right, but I just get really, really nervously anxious at the thought of doing things like that. It took me long enough to build up courage to go to hairdresser about the grey! Don’t do fake tan/beauty treatments/manicures etc for similar reasons. Massive self conscious twat that I am. It’s on the list of things to conquer though!

Summery1 · 03/07/2019 14:40

ShagMeRiggins I've been thinking of having my colours done with a while. Do you recommend ColourMeBeautiful? I'm in Ireland.
Is the 'on line' service any good?

ShagMeRiggins · 03/07/2019 14:42

Very jealous of the sky diving. I was going to do that as a 35th birthday present to myself; had a heart attack instead. Hmm

As for the style/beauty stuff...in your own time, but not too long. BYWI. Wink
