Morning campers! Flowers

Here's the spreadsheet

Sounds like a bit of a mixed week, so hopefully the scales (or tape measure!) have been kind to you, otherwise @MrsTerryPratchett is going to need a bigger patio!

Sorry to hear about the surgery @Sittingonthesidelines, but glad all is well. Hopefully he'll be home soon.

And hope that your surgery went well @NigellaAwesome

So we're in the last three weeks - still time to lose a good chunk of fat. But only, of course, if you stick to the rules ... Grin

Good luck to everyone.

Well done on your triathlon summery

I’m yet to try the pancakes but have all the ingredients to hand, maybe tomorrow as I’m working from home so have a bit more time.

I think I’m eating too many berries, maybe 5 strawberries and 5 blackberries on some yoghurt? I read that people are having a single raspberry. Thoughts? I love them but will stop if it helps

Doilooklikeatourist · 02/07/2019 10:18

Summery would love to hear some tips . Alcohol free for 18 months is a great achievement
After Dry January , we both thought hard , deciding whether we would open a bottle of wine or not , we did , and were back in our old habits very quickly

My sister gave up smoking in November ( she’d smoked for about 40 years ) and gave up drinking at home at the same time , so if she can do that , I can too ( I don’t smoke anyway , so that should make it easier 👍)

You're luck @tootstastic to be able to wear a waisted dress!

How about [[https://www.next.co.uk/gl2508s2#l10424 this from Next? ]]

I am so not a style advisor by the way

I'm on my phone, so I'll post about alcohol later.

Weighed and down .25. Slow but consistent loss. 8lbs overall.
11st 5 this morning , from 11st 13. A lyra tri suit doesn't have anywhere to hide fat so Thank You BIWI and bootcamp.

Rshard · 02/07/2019 12:52

Just bought these from M&S, quite a small bag but only 0.2g carb count. Pretty tasty and a nice crunch, £1.50 though so quite pricy but good for a treat

Hi everyone! Haven't posted in a while but have been 99% of the time sticking to LCHF and very pleased with a loss from 137lbs down to 126lbs since the start of bootcamp although do feel like I'm starting to maintain now. I've also upped my weights classes a lot in the run up to holidays which may be accounting for less of a loss in weight but I have some very impressive loss showing bikini photos which I'm very pleased with.

My question is around the times when you slip up. Last week I was at a work event and had a few high carb treats and almost immediately felt bloated and uncomfortable and then had the most horrific stomach pains that night. Is this normal when reintroducing carbs? I don't plan to at all and have definitely learnt my lesson but am going on a girls holiday to Spain next week which I'm slightly worried about as I don't want to be running for the toilet!
One of the real benefits I'm seeing in a low carb way of eating is that because I'm not eating any processed/snack food my dairy allergy is so much better as I'm not inadvertently eating it anymore so I did also wonder if that was it and it's actually dairy making me feel ill rather than the carbs Confused

Hope ds (and you) are doing ok Sitting must’ve been an awful few days Flowers

Boo to ‘fuck-it whale’ moments

Yay to NSV and smaller knicker moments

MrsTP we’re (you’re) gonna need a bigger boat patio!

But not for me. Yet. Mine have had a reprieve. In fact, we’re verging on skipping through meadows together. Imagine me clutching them to my chest then holding them out whilst spinning in the sunshine.

That’s right folks, the fuckers have finally remembered they can go down as well as up Hmm So, without wanting to speak too soon and jinx things a cheeky weigh in today has me at nearly another pound down overnight.

So am REALLY REALLY hoping that my recent plateau has finished and I’m on the move again. No doubt it would’ve happened sooner if I hadn’t spent a few weeks overdoing the booze. Hey ho.

Annoyingly though, I am also in the ‘not a real loss yet’ camp. A look at MFP tells me that the last time I was this weight was 24th Dec. And then what happened? Seasonal fuckery. And I’m only JUST back there. Really not worth it! I suppose at the time I hadn’t maintained it for long (one day Grin) so poss a bit too soon to call it a real weight. But still disappointing I’ve wasted so much time bouncing back up and down again.

It’s going to be different this time though. I can feel it in my waters. I AM going to get to my bloody TARGET. Without bouncing back up multiple stones in the process!

18pagesfrontandback · 02/07/2019 13:35

turnedout I’m no expert, but cramping and erm... running to the loo moments def falls into dairy intolerance AND IBS symptoms, so maybe try an exclusion of one entirely then reintroduce, then do same for the other and see what happens? Sorry if that’s not much help!

18pagesfrontandback · 02/07/2019 13:40

They look nice Rshard - any alternatives to scratchings always welcome. I’m still to find the cheese crisps Almahart found in Sainsbos.

Good luck with the dress hunt Toots - I’m crap at shopping and style advice so no input but eagerly awaiting updates.

Well done Summery sounds so impressive! I’m the sort of person who watches Ninja Warrior in awe whilst making ambitious plans for the following year - which ultimately end with me sat on the sofa watching it making ambitious plans for the following, following year Grin

18pagesfrontandback · 02/07/2019 13:42

Sorry, turnedout wasn’t making myself clear - when I said IBS, it’s because (some) carbs are one of the things that trigger mine, which include the symptoms you described.

NigellaAwesome · 02/07/2019 14:10

I agree turnedout that sounds like a food intolerance.

I wish to goodness running to the loo was one of my worries. It is rather the opposite at the moment. Downed a fybogel earlier in the hope that it will help. More water would help too.

SittingontheSidelines · 02/07/2019 16:40

Hi all. Thanks for good wishes. We're now home (just) so Dc is happy if a little sore. I am having a lovely low carb meal tonight and forgetting the last couple of days, especially as coming off plan and not enjoying it is very annoying.

I know there are lots of people on here who work in hospitals and I just want to thank you all, I wish I could find the words but I'm just so grateful that you are there delivering your care with such kindness.

tootstastic · 02/07/2019 17:03

Thanks @Summery1 I'll have a look at Boden, I haven't looked there in years, def worth another look. Impressed at your triathlon, huge well done!!

@Youwanapizzame the personal shopping might be a good idea, I could really do with being taken out of my comfort zone.

Thanks for suggestions @BIWI I'm prob a bit more casual normally, but maybe more dressy would work. I might go and have a try on to see what suits me. I might surprise myself!

tootstastic · 02/07/2019 17:09

Thanks@18pagesfrontandback! Giggling at seasonal fuckery.

@Rshard I have to try some of those chorizo crisps!

@SittingontheSidelines enjoy having your DC home...movies and cuddles opportunity.

Rshard · 02/07/2019 17:16

I haven’t found the cheese ones either 18pages.

Glad he’s home and happy sitting

The crisps were nice toots, scoffed them on the way back to the office and then got weird looks from colleagues who saw me photographing the bag!

prettybird · 02/07/2019 17:47

I was going to suggest Boden too, Tootstastic - although I haven't looked at their offering for a while. A dress with a nice wrap/crossover top half would show off your boobs assets Wink and emphasise your waist Smile

I had three lovely tops like that from Boden that I bought years ago and that are only finally giving up the ghost (at least, my favourite one is, I'm still hanging on to the other two). Bought 3 (2 patterned tops and one coral coloured one) to choose from and asked dh which ones I should return and he said none Grin

Been to a funeral today in Dunoon (so a nice trip doon the watter for those that know the West Coast of Scotland): no one we knew but it was to provide support to his son who is a good friend of dh's (same people we went to stay with and drank a lot a couple of weekends' back). I was really good at the purvey (the food/gathering afterwards): just had a few chicken satay sticks, a piece of salmon and broccoli quiche, minus its base, two smoked salmon and cream cheese blinis minus the blinis Wink and a ham sandwich minus the bread Grin And I swerved the cakes (which included some lovely looking carrot cakes and lots of garish strawberry tarts) - despite sitting right next to the cake table Halo

Now trying to catch up on my water intake.

VeryLittleOwl · 02/07/2019 18:45

NSV today - I checked my Samsung Health app at 2.30 and realised I'd only done 1,800 steps so far today, so I took the dogs for a 2-hour walk in the hills. My knees would not have coped with that at the beginning of Bootcamp!

Two crashed out very happy woofers now :)

Youwanapizzame · 02/07/2019 20:06

God Dinner was a faff. Itd better be amazeballs. It's like a lasagna but made with sausage meat pepper onion and garlic and mushroom worh tomato and a bit of cream cheese as the sauce plus herbs layered with courgette (very much faff) and a cream/mascarpone concoction with a bit of stock and garlic powder to make it savoury. Topped with cheese....

I'll report back after its cooked sometime next year. Just sat wo th a coffee catching up!

Youwanapizzame · 02/07/2019 20:07

Next time I try something lasagna like I might try leeks opened out a la a hairy biker recipe I saw once

prettybird · 02/07/2019 20:28

I tried my mum's lasagne (in the recipe thread) once, half with opened out leeks and the other half with thinly sliced (on the diagonal, so they're bigger) courgettes. Courgettes won by a country mile! Smile

The leeks might have been better if they'd been parboiled (they were a bit difficult to cut through) - but that would be too much of a faff for me Wink

NigellaAwesome · 02/07/2019 20:42

@Youwanapizzame your ingredients sound like they could have made a good meattza

tootstastic · 02/07/2019 21:10

@Rshard you: "mmm, they were so nice I'm going to take a photograph"
colleagues (as you left the room): "mad as a box of frogs that one" Grin

Thanks @prettybird yes showing off the boobage whilst emphasising my waist is exactly what I'm after. Your DH is a good 'un suggesting you keep all three tops! And well done for swerving the cakes.

@Youwanapizzame Hope lasagne is worth the faff, it does sound lovely.

Doilooklikeatourist · 02/07/2019 21:11

Was in town today ,picked up a meatzzza in M & S, they’re in the 3 for £10 , so I had a Spanish style pork belly , and the Texan slammers to get the deal ( and make life easy for the next couple of days )
Pork belly was nice , we had it tonight with a big green veg stir fry ( I gave DH the pepper sauce )
