Morning all!

here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness once more

So now we've completed the first half of Bootcamp. Some trials and tribulations along the way, but hopefully you've all settled into the swing of things and it's becoming easier and more like second nature.

Just a reminder - if you haven't already - to check out the recipe threads, which are all stickied at the top of the Bootcamp topic. Some really nice ideas there to inspire you.

And also, just in case you haven't seen this thread here's one which is about good low carb products that people have come across

If you post on that thread - and please do! - please post a photo of the front of the pack and also the nutritional info on the back of the pack.

Your message did make sense alma, perhaps as you were effectively describing me!

Glad you’re feeling a bit better starsky

Welcome to Friday weigh ins 18!

Notwatchingtvtoday · 18/06/2019 08:41

Morning, I’m back from my holiday, and despite trying really hard to be good am up 4lbs, so back on it today.

Have had a read through the thread and am hoping that those feeling sad are feeling a bit better now, please know that you are not alone and that we are all listening and wishing you well.

BIWI thanks so much for all your help on this and on the other thread. VenusandMars I hope your challenge with the refugee rations is going well.

I am hoping that it won’t take too long to get back to where I was. Holiday was lovely, it was a real pleasure to be away and it softened a very difficult day in the calendar for us as well.

I did find it difficult to be eating all meals out and I was really surprised by how sweet a lot of my meals tasted, I suspect that a lot of sugar is added in some restaurants and I did have a couple of ice cold shandy’s over the course of the week. I have absolute respect for those of you that are having to navigate eating out as part of your weekly routine. Not having prepared something yourself it is so difficult to really know what is in something.

Anyway today’s food is

1 tea with milk
Lots of water, am back tracking on the app
B Greek yogurt, Tsp Linwoods flax with 1 raspberry crumbed over the top, 2 coffees with butter whizzed with stick blender
L Frittata and homemade coleslaw
D lamb shoulder and FLGV and Celaric mash with butter

m0therofdragons · 18/06/2019 08:43

Okay, it's a 3lb gain but I still think it can be helped with water so hoping to get back under 10 this week. Still feel really bloated but will be drinking a little on Thursday as I'm going to see P!nk. Not loads so will stick to gin and tonics but working Friday so should be controlled.

I'm not as committed to this book camp as I was in January/February and I can't seem to get my head to focus. I know I can run 5k and feel good after yet I can't actually motivate myself to do it! It was so wet last Saturday and friends couldn't make it so I didn't go. Will make myself go this week to try and spark some kind of enthusiasm to improve health. My brain is so lazy!

B- Greek yoghurt
L- salad with Brie and beef slices
D- left over chicken made into? Maybe curry.

NigellaAwesome · 18/06/2019 08:58

I usually weigh on a Friday and add to the spreadsheet. Then if I'm lower by the Monday, I add the new weight, and if I'm higher, I stick to Friday's weight. Win win.

MumbleLumble · 18/06/2019 10:45

I'm down another 1lb from yesterday. Thats 16.2lb down in total. Maybe I should change my weigh in day to Tuesday as this happened last week too. Last night I wore a top that I haven't worn in 2 years because it was too small. So so happy!

Thanks nigella, I will remember that for next time. I love that I'm getting cooking tips from nigella Grin

Food today.... B coffee. L crust less quiche. D chicken thighs with veg and I need to come up with some sort of sauce.

MrsBertBibby · 18/06/2019 11:51

Grr up again today.

B bits of quorn and cheese
L buttery eggs
D celeriac dauphinoise and somethin. Broccoli probs.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 18/06/2019 15:22

Just weighed myself - another 1lb off. Not bad I suppose, considering the amount of gin I drank on Saturday night GinConfused

starsky22 · 18/06/2019 15:44

Nigella I like that idea, think I might do the same, as always seem to be up on a Monday!

Weighed in today and am 1lb more than last week, which is ok, although annoying as I've been losing and gaining the same 1lb for the last few weeks. Really need to be strict and stick with it this week.

Thanks for all the well wishes and Flowers for everyone else struggling/feeling down. I went back and read last weeks thread and I'm really annoyed at myself for not reading and posting last week, as a few people were going through similar things and I'm sure it would have helped knowing I wasn't alone. However at the time, I felt the same as nink and just wanted to hide away. Anyway, I'm back and on it this week and I could have easily just given up completely.

Food so far today:
B fasted
L omlette pizza with goats cheese, mascarpone and mozzarella (was perhaps a bit too much cheese!)
Just had an almond milk latte

Dinner will be roasted chicken thighs and celeriac, with cabbage, may have some more veg too, as bit lacking today so far.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 18/06/2019 16:35

What do you all do if you need a quick energy boost? I slept badly last night and by half 3 I was shattered and really wanted a handful of biscuits.

Resisted and had a creamy coffee instead but would like some other ideas.

ShagMeRiggins · 18/06/2019 16:41

WATER! WATER! WATER!

BIWI · 18/06/2019 16:43

... or a chunk of cheese? The fat will be enough!

Grin @ShagMeRiggins

ShagMeRiggins · 18/06/2019 16:44

Greebo I always do a bouillon for energy. Don’t know why, but it works for me!

ShagMeRiggins · 18/06/2019 16:48

By the way, I have been steadily losing the last few weeks but feeling incredibly bloated. Wtaf? It’s 100% not period related.

Any Poirots want to have a guess? Confused

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 18/06/2019 16:55

Thank you ShagMe, I am slurping away! Will remember the cheese for next time BIWI.

Heartyhooker · 18/06/2019 17:16

@ShagmeRiggins I find some sugar type things in processed foods upset me, as food manufacturer a are allowed to round down, the nutritional label may say

BIWI · 18/06/2019 17:17

@ShagMeRiggins

WATER, WATER, WATER!

I'm craving comfort food but I think it's just the weather. It's just a good thing we all like curry in our house!

I need to up my water intake.

IStillMissBlockbuster · 18/06/2019 19:02

Puzzling over the kangaroo product ingredient...

NigellaAwesome · 18/06/2019 20:02

More marsupial goings on. This is the confusing marsupial boot camp.

MrsTerryPratchett · 18/06/2019 20:05

I would have thought kangaroos were high protein but too low fat.

I seem to remember we thought Idris Elba would be similarly nutritious last BC. Grin

IStillMissBlockbuster · 18/06/2019 22:02

I know it's early to be thinking about the weekend, but i'm going to be out and about in London and we were thinking of going to China Town for dinner...is this a lost cause? I feel like practically any other cuisine would be easier to find low carb options.

Grimbles · 18/06/2019 22:04

Evening all. I'm happy to volunteer to test the Idris Elba theory...

I've not eaten much today, haven't really been all that hungry but as I have also been quite busy it might not be a long term thing.

Food today has been:

Pork scratchings
A couple rollitos
Meatballs and mushrooms in a sofrito chilli tomato sauce with guacamole and a slice of lo dough to mop up all the oil and butter left on the plate Grin

Lots of water and a few cups of coffee.

Summery1 · 18/06/2019 23:58

I weighed today and was actually UP from Monday. Hmm which I was recording as STS. I was a bit fed up as I think I've been pretty good - no alcohol, sugar, bread, pastry, rice, potatoes. Perhaps I'm eating too much! Anyway, on reflection 6lbs is still a good loss for 5 weeks. And I have been eating (85%) chocolate. Blush Plus I did take to the creamy coffees.

I exercise regularly, but this weekend with family stuff I hadn't done anything. But I'm back on it yesterday and today (swimming, cycling, pilates) and I feel really good! I'm prone to cramps though, so back on the supplements tomorrow.

I had a lovely dinner with chicken thighs. Some nice food does help restore the mojo, and make this WoE seem more pleasant. I was getting well fed up of poor cold picky suppers.

B: 3 eggs with cheddar and mushrooms
L: chicken thigh with tomato garlic and onion
D: more of lunch.

Summery1 · 19/06/2019 00:01

BTW I'm delighted for everybody with great losses. It shows this plan can work. Please continue posting!

Summery1 · 19/06/2019 00:10

I just remembered a (few) bag(s) of pork scratchings. ConfusedBlush
