Morning all!

here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness once more

So now we've completed the first half of Bootcamp. Some trials and tribulations along the way, but hopefully you've all settled into the swing of things and it's becoming easier and more like second nature.

Just a reminder - if you haven't already - to check out the recipe threads, which are all stickied at the top of the Bootcamp topic. Some really nice ideas there to inspire you.

And also, just in case you haven't seen this thread here's one which is about good low carb products that people have come across

If you post on that thread - and please do! - please post a photo of the front of the pack and also the nutritional info on the back of the pack.

Just back from my weekend away in Northumbria: will find out the damage tomorrow but think it will be mostly due to the alcohol WineBlush

Managed to avoid potatoes (just left them to the side of the plate), had a wee bit of apple with with the creamy, buttery, cidery, skin-on chicken breasts on Friday night, some biscuit base from the strawberries and cream flan (but turned down the caramac flan), an avocado, smoked salmon and prawn salad yesterday for lunch (when everyone else was having fancy sandwiches) and then when we ate out last night, asked for carrots to dunk into the baked Camembert (while the rest had a lovely tearing bread) and then Harissa lamb, spicy tomato purée and green veg (left the potatoes). Halo

A nice fry up for brunch today - but our host insisted on giving us away the remainder of the two flans to bring back to Scotland. Hmm

But as I say, rather a lot of wine BlushKept trying to drink water alongside it. Grin

Caramac flan you say ...

Speaking of which...

WATER! WATER! WATER!

As much a reminder for myself this weekend than for anyone else. But consider yourselves reminded.

Cooking sinner now, baked cod with cauliflower rice, leeks, and kale, all sautéed. I am ravenous.

NigellaAwesome · 23/06/2019 20:01

I'm glad you're ravenous @Shagmeriggins. Those sinners can be pretty filling.

Almahart · 23/06/2019 20:35

Feeling virtuous as resisted cold white wine DH brought for a bbq.

Dinner was bbq chicken, halloumi, courgette

Lunch cold burgers and avocado (not that nice)

One square of chocolate and a chunk of cheese as snacks

MumbleLumble · 23/06/2019 21:12

I had the most beautiful steak for dinner 3 and a half hours ago and I still feel so full. Is it possible to eat too much fat as the last week or so I've felt ridiculously full after my dinner and I'm only having a small portion.

MumbleLumble · 23/06/2019 21:13

Also, anyone got any tips for not going to the toilet 4 times (honestly) a night with all the water I'm drinking? Blush

I am a broken woman - I am a leader at Beavers and we had a camp this weekend. Spent Friday evening packing up the car, yesterday morning chivving the DC, driving to camp and then unpacking and pitching. Couldn't park next to pitch so had to lug everything (350 steps each way) and sort out everything whilst panicking about DC2 who kept disappearing.

It was only a one night camp so I had to pack up everything myself today and repack car, followed by driving home and unpacking car. Once home the silliness and squabbling between the DC seemed to magnify 10-fold. Thank fuck they are in bed now.

Anyway, the good news. Stuck 100% to plan, even though most of the food was provided for us, didn't go near any of the plentiful biscuits or cakes. We took a packed lunch yesterday so I had a lo-dough wrap with cheese, ham and coleslaw. Dinner was hog roast: I had the pork in a lo-dough wrap with Greek salad. Also later back at the tent had cucumber with onion and garlic dip.

Breakfast this morning: sausage, bacon and scrambled egg with a creamy coffee.

Lunch: was fairly full from breakfast (and the heat always reduces my appetite) so had left-over hog roast, salad and half a cold sausage. Again ignored the crisps, cakes and other carbs (potato salad, rolls etc).

Dinner (once home and DC bathed and in bed): 4 rollitos and some olives plus a couple of squares of dark choc. Am so knackered (am in bed now!).

The other good news is that the M&S pre-mixed pornstar martini (which I had last night) was delish. I had the can of pink fizz tonight and that went down nicely. Definitely going to get some more for times when I fancy something but it would be a phase.

So have my fingers crossed for tomorrow's weigh-in. Good luck everyone! Grin

TheWayOfTheWorld · 23/06/2019 21:24

@MumbleLumble I think it is definitely possible. Friday am I had 2 boiled eggs and a protein roll with butter for breakfast - hadn't eaten dinner the night below and demolished it.

Sat am (when I'd had steak and asparagus fried in butter for dinner) I could only managed 1 egg and half a protein roll. Felt so stuffed and had to leave the other egg and remaining half of the roll Confused

SittingontheSidelines · 23/06/2019 21:33

Breakfast. Mug of hot almond milk and a marmite cheese. Very delicious.

Lunch. Spiced chicken wings and my first roast green beans. I really enjoyed the beans but slightly undercooked (the odd one or two that was better cooked told me this). Next time they'll be perfect.

Dinner

SittingontheSidelines · 23/06/2019 21:34

Posted too soon
Dinner a marmite omelette. Not quite sure what's going on with me and the marmite at the moment.

MrsBertBibby · 23/06/2019 23:16

Kudos, TheWay. I have done my time helping out with cubs and scouts (we're explorers now and I am free!). Couldn't do it as a leader!

I have mostly failed to eat today, bar cheese nibbling. Nibbled cheese for breakfast, and lunch despite labouring in the garden all morning. I was starving when out, but resisted cake at a cafe (stuck to black tea) and there was nothing on offer at my vegan friend's house where I went to excavate her agapanthus, except mad carby vegan food like cashew cheese. Back home, appetite gone again, so more cheese nibbling and some white wine and soda. And hell's teeth even at 70% soda that tasted like bloody syrup.

Bleurgh. I am not sure this not eating is ok, but I don't want anything but slivers of St Agur and Gruyere.

MrsBertBibby · 23/06/2019 23:17

Also, explain marmite omelette plz. Mind is boggled.

Summery1 · 24/06/2019 00:38

I've fallen off the wagon a bit. Blush
Friday was fine. Usual breakfast, lunch was salmon cabbage and celeriac (mashed with cream and cheese). Dinner was leftover celeriac (there wasn't much).
Anyway, in prep for the tri I went to our holiday house. Bad weather means we haven't been, and the fridge is EMPTY. So I went down alone, did a 50k cycle and finished the celeriac before bed.
Saturday morning I had scrambled eggs (cafe) before a 60k hilly cycle. Basically at the end I was suddenly completely weak. (Hitting a bong I think they call it). I was home alone, in bed (it came on me after I had left my friends) and I only had chocolate rice cakes in the house. I ate 2, then later had brown bread. Then later a packet of crisps - I assume it was the salt.
This morning after swimming I had a fry, then celeriac in a creamy mushroom sauce with salad (smallish portion), then I ate 2 biscuits and 2 packets of crisps on the way home.

I hit the bong because I hadn't enough calories. Lesson learned and protein bars will be bought. Also holiday house shall be stocked up.

But gosh I feel rough for all the rubbish in my gut.

I hope 2 bad evenings don't ruin my loss. Confused

I also agree with posters, you will lose weight with low carb or low fat, but there are lovely choices on low carb, and I generally do feel very well. Back on it tomorrow.

SittingontheSidelines · 24/06/2019 06:02

@MrsBertBibby The day before I made crepes (eggs and cream cheese whizzed to make a batter) let them cool and added butter and marmite. Yesterday I wanted the same but quicker (ie couldn't be bothered to get out the blender) so just made two very thin omelettes, cooled, spread butter and marmite and et voila as they say.

MumbleLumble · 24/06/2019 07:28

thewayoftheworld at least it's not just me then. Honestly 6 weeks ago you'd never have heard me saying that!

Despite my pizza, I'm 2.2lb down this week. Very happy with that. That makes a grand total of 17.4 lbs lost.

MrsBertBibby · 24/06/2019 07:32

2.5 pounds down this week. Fab! 11 pounds during boot camp, and just over a stone total.

Keep on trucking!

MrsBertBibby · 24/06/2019 07:43

Hmmm, your marmite omelette interests me......,

Good work Mumble
