Morning all.

Here's the spreadsheet

Hopefully we will all have successfully navigated the dreaded weeks 3 and 4, and can move seamlessly into week 5, where the scales should be set to be kind to us from now on. The rate of loss will be slower from here on, but a weekly loss of 1-2lbs should be achievable.

I have an interesting week, as our kitchen extension gets underway. At the same time, I have family visiting from Canada, so providing for them is going to be interesting! I suspect we'll be visiting a lot of local hostelries over the next 3 days Grin

Anyway, good luck everyone, and hope this is a good week for us all.

Confession time. I had chips (shared one portion with my 3 dc) and a hot chocolate. Honestly, spice girls were fab but it was wet and freezing so necessary to avoid hypothermia. Will be back on plan tomorrow with lots of Water, Water, Water!

MumbleLumble · 11/06/2019 06:59

I've lost a lb over night which I'm pleased about as last week I only managed to lose 0.6lb. I'm now only 0.2lb away from losing a stone!

I need a bit of a rant! I'm feeling very proud of myself as I've been so good and I've lost 1/3 of the totally weight I need to lose. People at work have noticed I've lost weight and most have been supportive. My manager who I'd normally describe as a friend, keeps on making little comments about how I must be starving myself ect to other people. She is also trying to lose weight and IS starving herself!

MumbleLumble · 11/06/2019 07:01

Sorry posted too soon.

Why do people need to be like this! She keeps offering me cereal bars, which I've explained I can't have. It's very strange and getting rather annoying.

Rshard · 11/06/2019 07:18

It’s jealousy and sabotage plain and simple mumble, perhaps when she says something similar again, smile and say “actually no, I’m eating butter, cheese and cream........

Almahart · 11/06/2019 07:57

I haven’t lost for a couple of weeks now. Had a terrible food day yesterday, went straight from work to see Sarah Pascoe who was great so had some pork scratchings and some ready made kofta from Sainsbury’s- and two glasses of wine

Not good!

Bf today will be yoghurt and berries and lunch hm cauli cheese. I’m going to make a lc ramen for dinner

I think I’m going to go back to the alcohol tracking app I used in January, it really helped me

I’ve got another camping weekend coming up and then am going to do the bc strict programme in the spreadsheet until I’ve lost another couple of pounds. Can’t believe we’re nearly half way through!

IStillMissBlockbuster · 11/06/2019 08:06

The lb I lost and regained last week has gone again today! That means I am happy and motivated to continue again. I am learning that I am easily demoralised.

Breakfast this morning was yoghurt and strawberries.
Lunch will be (a not shit this time) salad.
Dinner will be leek lasagna probably.

venusandmars · 11/06/2019 08:26

0.1 pound on (so essentially STS). Not a surprise on week 4 at close to goal. Nice controlled week ahead (fingers crossed) so should be able to stick to plan and drink lots of water.

L - avocado, tuna mayo, salad
D - cauliflower cheese with bacon and spinach

LaganBubbleCruises · 11/06/2019 09:23

Stupid question alert ! Can you make frozen yoghurt by just freezing yoghurt or does it need anything else I don’t mean flavour I was thinking about the texture.

m0therofdragons · 11/06/2019 10:51

@LaganBubbleCruises I've done it with blueberry yoghurt before and is was okay but I wonder if adding whipped cream would make the consistency a bit more creamy. Imo it was across between ice cream and sorbet.

m0therofdragons · 11/06/2019 10:54

Apologies for over sharing but it appears the chips didn't affect my weight as I'm the same this morning and have pooped twice already Blush (usually once a day lady). Currently at work but am wondering if I've lost half a stone in body movements as I weighed pre pooping Grin

No packed lunch today so does anyone have any suggestions for M&S lunch ideas?

Rshard · 11/06/2019 11:10

I think that talking about poo is entirely relevant on this thread m0ther!

Lots of lovely bits for lunch in M&S, rollitos, their 3 for £7 deli bits, I know someone mentioned some chicken pakoras, not tried them myself. They do a tuna pate which is nice with chunks of cucumber, also little Greek salad.

VeryLittleOwl · 11/06/2019 12:30

Okay, if we're talking about poo - my digestive system has finally bucked its ideas up and learned how to process large amounts of vegetables again! Took its time...

Also had a little trying-on session from my wardrobe this morning and a size 12 dress which previously couldn't be zipped up further than about 2" below my bra strap now does up all the way Grin 5lbs to go until I'm back into the 'normal' BMI zone.

SittingontheSidelines · 11/06/2019 13:11

It is cold, wet, windy here. Completely miserable day and I've got carb cravings despite a very satisfying and high fat lunch.

ShagMeRiggins · 11/06/2019 13:11

MrsBertBibby your cat-related FFS was unexpected and highly amusing!

blockbuster lots to think about as we lose weight. No easy answers but I found things got much easier for me when I told all my friends repeatedly about low-carbing. Shouted it from the rooftops really, and they’re all very kind about ensuring I have options when I go to theirs or when choosing restaurants for lunches etc.

Even when I went right off-piste and started gaining back some lost weight, no one commented on it. There is one friend who asked a few times “are you eating bread again” or “is that mash allowed on your low carb diet” but she is very direct and her brain works in a somewhat atypical way, so I know she meant no harm.

Having said that, after several comments along those lines, I did tell her that she seems awfully interested in what I was eating and asked how it affected her what I put in my mouth.

I guess I’m very direct as well, but she hasn’t commented since and we’re still friends.

My point is that for this weight loss and better health to take hold for life, we have to get over it. We have to get to the point where we value ourselves and our health more than we value easing social situations for others and the potential judgment from others. It’s different for each of us—I’m sure some are horrified by my approach!—but it really has to be done, for ourselves. Flowers

blackteaplease · 11/06/2019 13:42

Urgh I have the period from hell this month, I feel like eating everything in sight but am keeping myself busy as a distraction.

catontherun · 11/06/2019 13:48

Bugger, having read the guidelines (no fruit, careful with milk etc) for the first 2 weeks, I approached my scales again this morning (for only the second time in years) to find that they no longer work even after new batteries.

Have ordered new ones via amazon.

Very impressed by a 7lb loss in one week by someone upthread !

Rshard · 11/06/2019 13:52

Yay for your digestion system verylittleowl!

I know what you mean sittingonthesidelines, I made celeriac gratin for lunch as I was craving something warm and comforting - did the trick.

ShagMeRiggins · 11/06/2019 15:21

18pages re the same two pounds, yep, same here. I remind myself of when ilovecherries stalled for months despite being practically saintly in this WoE (which I am not always). Then she started losing again. KOKO.

toots love love love your milestone

Greebo stupid brain! Give it time, I’m sure your brain will stop interfering with your body’s signals at some point.

MrsTerryPratchett stupid brain! (For different reasons) Grin

Leelaseye Can't seem to help myself. Hmm Why do you think that is?

Lunch will be (a not shit this time) salad.. Yeah, those are good.

mumble ignore or inform or just bring in a lunch of steak and salad drowning in blue cheese dressing, then invite her to sit next to you while you eat.

I’m 1lb down. Softly softly...

MrsTerryPratchett · 11/06/2019 15:51

MrsTerryPratchett stupid brain! (For different reasons)

So so true.

KooMoo · 11/06/2019 17:15

m0therofdragons TMI alert. My first post holiday poop on Sunday was a stonking 3lber Grin. I nick named it Poophoria 🙃

It was superb and I felt very light and refreshed after Grin

m0therofdragons · 11/06/2019 18:06

@KooMoo that must have felt amazing Grin I love a satisfying poop 💩

prettybird · 11/06/2019 18:09

Good for getting organised @catontherun - sounds like you are in the right frame of mind.

I'd also advise measuring yourself (I do waist, hips, under bust, over bust while you are leaning over Wink, thigh, calf, neck, and upper arm). It helps when you stall as sometimes you lose inches but not weight - and just as importantly, you see the big reduction on your waist measurement, which means that the dangerous visceral fat is reducing Smile

If you don't have a tape measure, use a piece of string. At the very least measure your waist Grin

SittingontheSidelines · 11/06/2019 18:32

Lunch burgers with Stilton and fried eggs.

Dinner take away kebab.

Solely comfort food today but at least not carby.

Please let the sun shine tomorrow.

ShagMeRiggins · 11/06/2019 19:27

Poophoria

over bust while you are leaning over #genius

Youwanapizzame · 11/06/2019 20:43

Snarf at poophoria! I'm normally a one a day girl but on this woe it's been every few days (unless I've had cream then it's a run for it situation) and by gum some if them must be a good few lbs.

Ladies don't put antibiotic eye drops in just before your dinner..... blech I can taste them yuk yuk yuk

Bloody toddlers.... thought I'd shifted the gummy eyes and BAM back this morning. And I think my wrist is infected... burnt it on even last week and that's gummy too...

Oh woe is me... I'm all gummy and gammy... and I've to go to a "compulsory " breakfast meeting tomorrow... it's all pastries and bacon sandwiches.... grrrr I'm off to bed to grump.... I shall resist and glower at the carbs over my coffee cup. Fuck you brioche and Danish.... especially you custard bastard!!!
