Week 4 - May Low Carb Bootcamp - time to KOKO!

BIWI · 03/06/2019 08:41

Morning all

Hopefully there will be some losses to record on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness but please don't be disheartened if you didn't lose (or even see a small gain.

Weeks 3 & 4 are notorious for this. Your body is getting used to the new regime, but if you stick to it, then you should see things get moving again from next week.

If you are struggling, make sure that you are following Bootcamp rules to the letter; consider whether or not dairy is an issue for you - and if you've moved to Bootcamp Light then perhaps consider going back to Bootcamp for another week or so?

Whatever the case, don't develop a case of the fuckits and jump head first into the biscuits. That's the only way to guarantee that you will gain weight!

@MrsBertBibby thank you. Love white stuff, and buying new clothes!

MrsBertBibby · 09/06/2019 10:18

I've bought very few clothes in the last few years, for one reason or another, (flab, illness, time,) so it's quite exciting!

Almahart · 09/06/2019 11:24

I’ve discovered Monki. Some of it is very young and apparently it’s big on plus size bloggers but with a trawl through there are some great things - I especially like the shirts as they are cut for women with boobs - no gapeage

They’re part of H&M/cos/otherstories group

Still KOKO - in true week four style have lost nothing in fact as a pound up this morning

Have a NSV - back in some old jeans

ShagMeRiggins · 09/06/2019 11:30

MrsBertBibby will you upload a photo of your Whistles jacket? I want to see long, flowy.

18pages yes, I’m just not hungry. M shape has been changing lately and I’m sure a hip measurement would show a loss of inches, but I could really do with a whoosh. I’m in a “between sizes” prison that’s starting to piss me off!

Still laughing over mrwalkensir’s smug coleslaw.

Almahart · 09/06/2019 11:44

Sorry I meant it’s big with plus size bloggers cos it cuts for women of all shapes and sizes - not that that made it unsuitable, I think it’s really great!

m0therofdragons · 09/06/2019 11:44

@ShagMeRiggins I hate those inbetween sizes. Mind you, it seriously depends where you shop! New look had a jump suit that swamped me as a 12 so I tried the 10 - still massive on top. FYI I'm a solid 12 so definitely not an 8! Infuriating.

18pagesfrontandback · 09/06/2019 12:51

Well this morning I’ve been for a very long, very sweaty, very hilly walk and had a word with myself about eating/drinking woes away.
It’s not been a great couple of weeks here, but I know the drill, food and drink are not the answer!

I know that part of me is also rebelling pathetically against the slowness of scale movement, and yet, as I’m throwing my tantrum, I’m thinking ‘yeah, but look, ooh, isn’t my tum shrinking in (albeit covered with an apron of flabby loose skin)’. So all in all, I’m behaving a bit like a bell-end.

Line drawn

Am going to spend this week reminding myself of all the reasons why I need to KOKO and that part of that, is to find alternative ways to manage my stress levels/emotions. It’s so bloody pointless being self-destructive because it just ADDS to the problems. Think I would know this by now Hmm

Today is all about the WATER WATER WATER and praying for a mini whoosh or sts tmw. AND PERIOD PLEASE ARRIVE, THANK YOU!

18pagesfrontandback · 09/06/2019 12:54

That’s me in a nutshell at the moment too Riggins! Bloody frustrating. Here’s to the whoosh Gods and what they may bring

Summery1 · 09/06/2019 12:56

I've ordered a dress from Boden in a 12. I got it last year in a 16 but it's miles too big now, and it was heavily reduced. And I am an optimist.Grin

I went for a long cycle this morning (40K) without being hungry. This is because I ate a massive portion of dinner last night. I'm determined to be a little more mindful of my portion sizes.

I must look up the nutribullet hollandaise.

18pagesfrontandback · 09/06/2019 12:57

That site sounds worth a look. I tend to suffer from gapeage, which is really annoying as shirts are one of the few things I find that suit my shape.

NigellaAwesome · 09/06/2019 19:07

I'm struggling today. DH 50th birthday party, and there was cake. I think it's to do with this bloody low fat malarky I'm doing this week - both psychological with the feeling of deprivation, and physical as the lack of fat is making me hungry.

Had a very entertaining afternoon with other people's children who still love playing with Playmobil - mine are too old and bored with it now.

Heartyhooker · 09/06/2019 20:10

@Nutella mine claim to be too old but they always play with the Roman playmobil at the town museum. Not helping that autocorrect thinks your a delicious spoonable spread. Today has mainly been sleeping
B creamy coffee, cheese spread with butter
T beef curry with coconut flour dumplings.
Dumplings need tweaking as nice taste with turmeric but dry, will try with lard next time. I think with a bit of fiddling I could make a polenta substitue. Am thinking bake then fry and serve with tapenade

m0therofdragons · 09/06/2019 20:47

40k! BlushI'm tired just thinking about cycling that far.

Food wise I'm on it and nsv is my cropped size 12 jeans fit and are even loose. Not loose enough to drop a size but enough to look and be super comfortable. Like I'm an actual size 12 not a 14 squeezing in!

Going to see The Spice Girls tomorrow and am so excited but nervous as I'm taking dc on my own. I'll be fine once we get there Grin

IStillMissBlockbuster · 09/06/2019 20:50

As my weekends are getting more sociable, I am struggling to stick to this woe more. I don't like drawing attention to the fact that I am dieting, don't wanna talk about it and therefore find it hard to not join others in shared meals.

BIWI · 09/06/2019 20:53

But ask yourself why that is @IStillMissBlockbuster. Why are your needs something that you can't articulate to your friends?

It's not just about weight, it's about your overall health.

And just think - clean eating and keto and paleo are all the rage these days - you could just hitch your wagon to those fads if you wanted to!

But please, don't think that your ambitions are any less than other people's.

I serve up carb-free nibbles. Cucumber sticks and dips (breadsticks but I don't eat them), cheeses, peppers, cold meats, salad, bread (but don't eat it myself). No one has commented at all.

BBQ season is all about meat and salad so just leave the bun.

Summery1 · 09/06/2019 21:38

B: 2 eggs with grated mozzarella
L: yogurt with milled linseed. Olives. Rasher.
D: steak, garlic butter, cauliflower FLGV
S: 20g of 85% chocolate. I estimate less than 4g of carb.

SittingontheSidelines · 09/06/2019 21:52

Lunch. Pork curry served on a bed of leaves with a side of yogurt and cucumber.

Dinner. The rest of my frittata and a green salad with olives except that I forgot to put the olives in.

Had an early weigh this morning,(weekly weigher)and I'd lost exactly nothing so far this week so not expecting miracles tomorrow.

SittingontheSidelines · 09/06/2019 21:56

Just thought I'd mention that I've always used balsamic vinegar on my salad and a good quality one so was expecting to feel the lack. Now mixing my olive oil with cider vinegar and find I'm loving it.

TowandaForever · 09/06/2019 21:59

@Summery1

Do you make the garlic butter or buy pre made?

prettybird · 09/06/2019 22:03

Just had a lovely meal of my pork belly & chorizo casserole (recipe is in the relevant pinned recipe thread). Dh and ds had it with rice, while I had it with roasted asparagus and a lovely big green salad.

We'll be having this again on Tuesday (and possibly later in the week) as I made a quadruple quantity. Dh and ds really love it Grin

TheWayOfTheWorld · 09/06/2019 22:18

So much to catch up on! I've been away with friends since Friday and only got back this evening - we've been camping in Buckinghamshire and OMG - the rain! The howling wind! Luckily today was gorgeous and made up for it but how I didn't fall head first into a vat of pudding yesterday after the stress of going out in the middle of the night to battle the canopy and re-guy the tent, I don't know....

Anyhoo, pretty much kept on plan - took my own pudding and avoided crisps etc. Did have a couple of glasses of cava on Friday and Saturday night but that was it. According to my Garmin I burnt 3000 cals on Friday (hefting all the camping gear around and then pitching said tent), quite eye opening.

Was firmly stuck in the 147-148 lbs range last week, really hoping to see some movement tomorrow. But things generally seem to be moving in the right direction - I got a couple of pairs of cropped trousers/jeans from Matalan on Thursday and got them in a 10 rather than my usual 12 (hold my mum tum in better ) and Grininspired by @prettybird I ordered a couple of bikinis from Pour Moi and they looked ok, so a bit of a NSV.

Off to catch up on the thread! Good luck for tomorrow everyone Smile

1stMrsF · 09/06/2019 23:34

Checking in. Had completely eradicated holiday gain by Friday morning then anniversary champagne and canapés bought by DH put on a 2lb glycogen store Hmm Obviously I could have not eaten them, but they looked so good and he'd tried so hard...

Good weekend. Bibenbap for dinner a Saturday (see my post on the meat recipe thread) and this morning a fasted 25k bike ride (first exercise for ages, so very pleased) and then bacon, smashed avo, tomato and fried egg for brunch. Impromptu barbecue for dinner: cheese burger (no bun), LC sausage and small piece of steak with roasted med veg, salad and hm coleslaw. Swerved the pudding and ate some Brie. We'll see how the scales are tomorrow but I'm on the right track.

WATER WATER WATER though!

Summery1 · 10/06/2019 00:38

Towanda I just grated about 4 cloves with a big knob of butter (I'd have used parsley if I had it). Enough for 2. DH loved it too.
I have one of those microplane graters.

BIWI · 10/06/2019 06:29

WATER WATER WATER Sad

Our building work starts today - demolishing the brick- built shed and then extending the kitchen. And it's pissing raining. And set to rain all week too. The whole point of doing this in the summer was that the weather would be good!

Anyway. Off to start the new thread ...
