Morning all

Hopefully there will be some losses to record on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness but please don't be disheartened if you didn't lose (or even see a small gain.

Weeks 3 & 4 are notorious for this. Your body is getting used to the new regime, but if you stick to it, then you should see things get moving again from next week.

If you are struggling, make sure that you are following Bootcamp rules to the letter; consider whether or not dairy is an issue for you - and if you've moved to Bootcamp Light then perhaps consider going back to Bootcamp for another week or so?

Whatever the case, don't develop a case of the fuckits and jump head first into the biscuits. That's the only way to guarantee that you will gain weight!

Well done to everyone who lost this week!

Forgot to weigh in this morning as we had an unexpected new bank holiday today. Will do it tomorrow.

Survived my jungle residential with mostly sticking to plan but did eat a slice of pizza and the chocolate and nuts part of a magnum (i didn't eat the ice cream). Went straight from that to weekend away with a group of friends that resulted in Saturday night beers. Felt crappy all day yesterday so I hope I learnt my lesson.

But, my nsv is huge! I am getting so much smaller. Last week I tried on 3 skirts before I found one that i could actually wear to work without it falling down. Hit a clothing market and picked up a few tops and a dress that should get me through the next few weeks. My donation bag is now way bigger than he clothes left in my closet!

venusandmars · 03/06/2019 11:37

I wore trousers yesterday that felt definitely too big and baggy (they were the only ones that were ironed)

Dear @BIWI since you're so good at this bootcamp stuff, could you do a 'how to grow taller' bootcamp? I don't need it for BMI but I was walking next to my 6ft2in husband and I was on a little 3 inch ledge - it felt so good to be closer to his head and face as we walked and talked. So I'm not asking for much, but can you do a lchf (lengthened calves, high forehead) bootcamp that is as successful as this one.
Thank you in anticipation,
an admirer.

prettybird · 03/06/2019 11:42

I "found" an extra 1.5" after an extra stretchy Pilates class Wink

I'd always thought I was 5'4" - turns out I'm 5'5.5" Grin

May as well make the most of it before I start losing inches due to age Wink

Leelaseye · 03/06/2019 11:48

A nearly 2lb gain for me. Not surprised after a boozy weekend for my friend's hen. Also, there was a donut after a real case of the fuckits, but am back on full bootcamp now. Had nowhere near enough water last week and think that made a big difference too.

Did have a nice NSV though in the form of finally being able to zip up the bridesmaids dress I am due to wear next month so can't really complain about that!

B: scrambled egg with smoked salmon
L: grilled chicken, homemade coleslaw and half an avocado
D: bolognese sauce with asparagus

Ninkaninus · 03/06/2019 11:51

Hi everyone 🌷

I have stayed the same, 157.

I have woken up feeling anxious and sad today. I know what the cause is but not really sure how to fix it (other than just to do the thing I’m stressing over). I can’t stand being such a disappointment to myself. 😔 Knowing how lucky I am and how many good things have happened for me almost makes it worse, because I feel guilty for still being upset about things that truly aren’t that important - I can’t change them and they really aren’t my fault. But it still matters to me, you know?

Never mind. I think I’ll go for another lovely walk in the sunshine today (if it lasts - it’s looking questionable atm).

Have a great week everyone! 👍👍

venusandmars · 03/06/2019 12:28

Aww @Ninkaninus sometimes life just deals us a shit hand, there is nothing we can do except continuing to put one foot in front of the other. While we do that we can look at the stoney ground, we can look at the sky, it doesn't matter. It matters only that in our own body we live and breathe. We cannot 'fix' stuff, we cannot change things....

But we can eat avocado. We can eat cheese. And at the other end of things, we can survive x

m0therofdragons · 03/06/2019 12:33

@Ninkaninus it's completely fine to feel sad and it doesn't matter if others think it's not important, if it matters to you then it matters! Don't be too hard on yourself Thanks

Ninkaninus · 03/06/2019 12:50

Thank you both, I appreciate it. 🌷

Rshard · 03/06/2019 12:52

Hope your walk makes you feel a bit less sad nink Flowers

SittingontheSidelines · 03/06/2019 12:56

@NinkaninusThanks

Re samphire, I did answer (someone, sorry I'm awful with names) on thread three, but in case you didn't get back there, we get it in Tesco. And I love it, especially with fish and lamb and cooked in butter of course. .

Two pounds down today so I am happy with that.

Thank you @BIWI

Lunch today will be left over samphire, asparagus and lamb cutlet.

Tonight probably will be omelette and salad.

MrsBertBibby · 03/06/2019 13:06

That was me asking about samphire, Sidelines, so thank you!

devoncreamtea · 03/06/2019 13:11

Hello - sts again. Had wine though.

Well done all. I have lots of assessments for my daughter this week so will hopefully check in again over the weekend.
Great loss mrsbb Smile

IStillMissBlockbuster · 03/06/2019 13:29

Can I ask a couple of potentially stupid questions please?

What is NSV?

And several people have mentioned plateau-ing but then expecting a whoosh... I'm guessing this means a sudden drop of a few lbs? So this is a known pattern?

chocolateavocado99 · 03/06/2019 14:03

NSV - Non scale victory.

Yes you are correct about a plateau followed by a whoosh, it is when you have no weight loss for (4 weeks I think)) then a sudden large drop in weight. Its lovely when it happens Grin

TheWayOfTheWorld · 03/06/2019 14:04

@IStillMissBlockbuster

NSV = non scale victory eg inch loss, you get comfortably into the previously too tight jeans/dress etc

Woosh = exactly as you say Smile

Thanks to @Ninkaninus, hope the walk helps

IStillMissBlockbuster · 03/06/2019 14:36

Thank you, the thread makes more sense to me now

Youwanapizzame · 03/06/2019 14:38

Right I've taken a new pic of me I. The tight dress and I think its looking a bit better. I'll load up the pic tomorrow as I camt do it from my phone.

B- none
L - x2 babybel ham cucumber cheese "crackers "
D slow cooker gammon with veg * not sure what yet...

I made cheese crackers! With ground almonds! Teeny bit thick so they're a bit bready but they're full of cheese so a tasty snack! Yum

MrsTerryPratchett · 03/06/2019 14:46

I gained. How I thought that miraculously I could eat loads of cheese and drink wine and not, I'll never know. Denial is a wonderful thing. However, I'm still in ketosis, didn't eat carbs and I'm going to 16:8 as well as LCHF this week and I'm sure it'll sort itself out.

Bloodybigbabybelly · 03/06/2019 15:40

Sts this week... really must drink the water. Thank you for new thread BIWI Smile

Summery1 · 03/06/2019 15:41

We've got a BH here so I'll weigh tomorrow. Im trying to up the water today as my weight has been up and down 2 lbs.
Congratulations to all who lost. For those that aren't losing this week thanks for sharing, it makes me feel less stressed about having to lose IYKWIM.

BIWI · 03/06/2019 15:47

@venusandmars Grin

If I could do that I'd be a billionaire!!!

SittingontheSidelines · 03/06/2019 16:06

Re whoosh. I think the explanation was the fat in the cells goes but is replaced by water which is why a weight loss might not be immediately noticeable, then the fat cells suddenly let go of the water hence the "whoosh" drop in weight.

Please correct me if I got this wrong/dreamt it/made it upGrin

MrsTerryPratchett · 03/06/2019 16:20

For those that aren't losing this week thanks for sharing, it makes me feel less stressed about having to lose IYKWIM.

You're welcome Summery Grin I'll see if I can gain this week as well (only joking)

ShagMeRiggins · 03/06/2019 16:23

WATER! WATER! WATER!

I think many have learned this week is that one of the pitfalls with going to Bootcamp Lite is that alcohol is allowed. Even if we are being careful with it, we must remember that our bodies always burn alcohol before fat. Always.

If you need a trick for water drinking, promise yourself that other than the morning cuppa no one in Britain seems able to do without you will not drink alcohol, or anything that does not contribute to your water intake, e.g., Diet Coke, until you’ve hit your daily water target.

According to my scale I have gained 5lbs Confused, and I guaran-damn-tee you the two bites of pita bread on kebab night didn’t cause it.

I’m convinced it’s impossible other than as some flukey fluke so I am completely ignoring that number and continuing to eat on plan as normal.

The scale will sort itself out sooner or later, and I’m more stubborn than my scale. Halo

limberlost · 03/06/2019 18:00

Help please, where is the coleslaw recipe?
