Starting tomorrow's thread early as I'm not around in the morning

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

So far there seem to be some great results already, so I'm hoping they've continued over the weekend.

I love this week because the first weigh-ins are often spectacular, but also all those who were less than convinced are amazed how much they've lost!

It really sounds to me like people have really got to grips with this WOE, which is fantastic.

Here's to you all, and wishing you a good result on the scales tomorrow. (Or with the tape measure or the clothes you're trying on, if that's your preferred method of monitoring progress!)

Loving your new verb 'muffining' @AthelstaneTheUnready. I'd like to stop muffinjng immediately 🤣

ChippingInLowCarbing · 23/05/2019 19:27

Greebol nothing to be ‘sorry’ for! 🌷

It’s taken me a LONG time to come around to this way of thinking and trust me, repeating it to others makes me more focussed on remembering that too. I still very much have my wobbles and I’ve spent more time off the wagon than on it Blush.

You’ll easily get to 11.5 by the end of June if you stick to it. I’d have said much more, but it sounds like you don’t have a lot to lose. How tall are you? What does the NHS say your weight should be to be in the healthy range? Not that it’s incredibly accurate, but it’s a rough guide.

I’ll have you know I was once a maid in a stage show and I think I stole the show frankly!

...

It’s really exciting & I’m well impressed, is it short run or ongoing?

If you’re an apple with boobs you want to make sure the skirt shows off your legs 😃

ShagMeRiggins · 23/05/2019 19:28

Greebo that sounds exciting. Enjoy playing the maid!

ChippingInLowCarbing · 23/05/2019 19:32

MrsBertBibby was that down to me banging on about it or did you just see it in the shop?!

I practically live off that and Cauldron sausages & marinated pieces for protein on this WOE. LOVE the stuff! Personally not too keen on any of the other flavours (smoked, olive - despite loving olives, and the new red one you can apparently also use as bolognaise. I ate it cold but ‘meh’).

StrumpersPlunkett · 23/05/2019 19:36

Fell off the wagon badly last night with pasta and fizzy drinks. The amount of raw veg I'm eating has kicked off my IBS. Is anybody else getting this? Anything I can do about it? I can't keep on with low carb if I'm in pain all the time.

prettybird · 23/05/2019 20:31

Why raw veg Sucking ?

I like mange tout, leeks, baby sweet corn, courgettes, brussels (regulars on here know about my addiction to brussels microwaved with butter Wink), all done with butter. Mashed neeps (with butter). Mashed celeriac (with cream).

Only raw veg I tend to have is coleslaw, green salad, avocados (although people on here have talked about how lovely roasted/cooked avocados are), radishes, cucumber.

Ninkaninus · 23/05/2019 20:33

Sucking sorry to hear you’re in pain. You don’t have to eat raw veg, just cook it instead and choose veg that agrees with you.

prettybird · 23/05/2019 20:33

Posted too soon Blush

Not sure if that helps with the IBS.

But if cooked helps, then there are some ideas.

Just dust yourself down and get back on the wagon Smile Are you having enough water?

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 23/05/2019 20:37

Thanks Chipping and ShagMe! Grin

We are actually touring throughout July and into August. And it's Regency dress, so no short skirts for me - but empire line dresses tend to draw attention away from my waist and up to my boobs, so it could be worse. There's talk of corsets, too...

Chipping, I'm 5.7 (and a half!) and need to get down to at least 161lbs to be within the healthy BMI range.

SuckingDieselFella · 23/05/2019 20:44

I am having cooked veg but they're a problem too. Roasted broccoli on Saturday had me in agony on Sunday. The problem is that I'm veggie so meals are mostly veg, eggs and dairy. I'm having Quorn as well with veg on the side.

MrsBertBibby · 23/05/2019 20:52

It's been sitting in the fridge for a while, Chipping, while I've eyed it suspiciously.

Glad I finally went there!

VeryLittleOwl · 23/05/2019 21:10

Almahart - congrats on the skirt NSV!

Athelstane - sorry about the car, that sucks :(

ChippingIn - the sheep were mostly well-behaved. I didn't have to do the walk of shame down to the other end of the village with a bucket of feed to retrieve them, put it that way. Decided against flipping them, as they were two of the tamer ones who, if I put them in the race (very narrow pen, the width of one sheep), would let me just pick up their feet like a horse.

Ninkaninus - happy belated birthday :)

Re: bikinis - there's a hotel we love going to which doesn't have many Brits staying at it, it's mostly French, German and Dutch guests. I've always felt like a whale compared to the French ladies, who are generally immaculately maintained and very slim at all ages, but last time we were there I saw a very large German lady in probably her late 50s wearing a bikini, strolling round the pool, head up, shoulders back. She absolutely rocked it, she looked fabulous, and since then I've never worried about it. It made me realise that it's mostly about your attitude and you have to wear the bikini rather than letting it wear you, if you see what I mean?

Rayna - fab going and hope the turmeric came off!

VeryLittleOwl · 23/05/2019 21:11

(Sorry, bikinis bit wasn't aimed at Ninkaninus, it was supposed to be below the comment to Rayna!)

prettybird · 23/05/2019 22:00

Just a thought SuckingDiesel - but along the lines of the discussion we've had on thrush "having death throws" once it can no longer feed on the sugar - how long have you been low carbing? Could the bad IBS be the final throws of your gut complaining that it doesn't have sugar and yeast to live on?

NigellaAwesome · 23/05/2019 22:20

Gosh the thread is so busy today! Glad car woes are sorted, and Shag I agree that the teachers never say anything you don't already know.

I'm off to Spain for the weekend, back on Tuesday, so I'm going to weigh tomorrow and add to the spreadsheet, which will be just under a week on bootcamp for me. Before I go I have to plan to the nth degree what children are eating, wearing and doing for the next 5 days.

Today's offerings:
B: Decaf coffee with almond milk
Brunch: small amount of lardons & mushrooms fried together and half an avocado
Dinner: 2 LC chipolata sausages (Co-op outdoor bred chipolatas, 1.4g carb per 2 sausages), fried cabbage, and homemade aioli on the side.

Drinks: 2 decaf coffees, 2 buttermint teas, 1 litre water

I've just realised I forgot to vote. FFS Angry

starsky22 · 23/05/2019 22:45

Had this chicken and bacon ready meal from Sainsburys for dinner tonight with courgette fried in butter. Was an easy low carb option after a very busy day at work!

StrumpersPlunkett.

Hi

It’s nice to meet anyone on the path to weight loss, no matter which way they’ve chosen to go about it.

My cousin did the CD, she lost a lot of weight and quickly. Unfortunately she got really ill and had a lot of trouble eating ‘real food’ again. She’s now bigger than before she did the CD. I keep hoping she’ll join us on BC.

I was just looking to see if I could see any support groups on here for you and came across this thread. I haven’t read all the posts, but some are very worrying.

Cambridge diet

Cambridge is very different to what we do.

You could give Bootcamp a go following BIWI’s rules and see how you get on?

Summery1 · 23/05/2019 23:26

I did a great shop today. I bought some bags of prepared veg. A tomato sauce that is 3.2g carb per 100g and tzatziki which is 2g carb per 100g.

There is no such thing as pork scratchings in Ireland. I looked at bacon fries but they are about 45g per 100g, so I know they're not it. Are people making their own?

Last week I had a lot of left overs from a party at the weekend and I felt good. I'm a bit more sluggish the last 2 days. I feel I need to reread the rules now. But maybe it's just more veg needed.

B:2 poached eggs, spinach, mushrooms, hollandaise.
L: salmon, cucumber, tomatoes, coleslaw, pepper.
D: chicken, green veg stirfry, celeriac and butter.

Thanks for the brilliant tip to microwave the celeriac whole. Easy and great!

ChippingInLowCarbing · 23/05/2019 23:34

Greebol. That sounds like great fun! Hopefully you’ll come near me & we can have a salad together —or a drink—

You’ll get to 11.5 if you stick to the plan 😊. Probably less, but you’re close to a good weight so the losses will be smaller than others with more to lose.

I have loads to lose and still small losses😖

MrsBertBibby. It won’t be ‘just sitting in the fridge any more*. It’s just too good!
Do you remember where you bought it? I’ve never seen it anywhere other than Waitrose?!

VeryLittleOwl. That’s great! There’s nothing like wandering around the Village to get your sheep back!! My good friends got some as ‘lawnmowers’. They were clueless when getting them and got a breed that’s know for jumping (another friend needed to rehome them) We spent a LOT of time going to fetch them Blush

Nigella have a lovely time. Enjoy your time with your family. Life is short, make the most of it. . We’ll be here to pull you back up into the wagon if you need a hand up when you get back.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 24/05/2019 07:08

My goodness I have a thumping headache!

I went out last night for a very belated birthday dinner: had asparagus with butter for starters, fish with celeriac, cabbage and aioli for main and cheese for pudding. As I am on week 5 I did have a glass of champagne and a glass of red. Felt as pissed as a fart, nearly fell asleep on the train home and am now having an alka seltzer Confused

Headache/alcohol aside I am pleased how I stuck to plan and how I have for out of my previous "glass or two a night" habit.

Have a work lunch out today and no idea what is on the menu - if necessary shall abstain and then have some M&S rollitos in the fridge at work to tide me over until dinner time.

Dinner may be pulled pork again with veg.

IStillMissBlockbuster · 24/05/2019 07:30

Hi everyone, I did a cheeky weigh in before my usual weekly and have lost another 2lbs despite cupcake-gate. Smile
DH is now interested in having a go at this WOE so I'll show him the rules etc this weekend. That's a 7lb loss in total and I'm almost back to my normal, pre holiday binge weight. Awesome, I am very happy.

starsky22 · 24/05/2019 07:50

Well done istill

I've woken up feeling rubbish, headache, bloated and achey, could be carb flu or could be down to stress. Got an important piece of work due and it's going to be late, not through my doing, but I'm still stressed about it.

Having a massage this morning so hoping that helps, as suffering with pain in my neck and shoulders a lot at the moment.

Really fancy a smoothie for breakfast, prior to bootcamp had been having banana and strawberry or mango and raspberry, so think im craving a bit of fruit, does anyone have a low carb version?

Hope everyone has a good Friday!

TheWayOfTheWorld · 24/05/2019 07:56

@starsky22 I have been thinking about trying to make a smoothie with Greek yoghurt, almond milk and a few berries. Don't see why that wouldn't work.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 24/05/2019 07:56

And great news @IStillMissBlockbuster!
