Low Carb Bootcamp - the end of the line!

Morning all.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness, waiting for the results from your Scales of Truth!

Hopefully the final weigh-in is a good one for you all.

Although this is the end of this Bootcamp, it's not the end of the chat - so not the end of support, advice and general chit chattery!

So don't despair if you haven't reached your target. Keep going and reporting in here. The Big Stick will be rested in the cupboard for a while, but you can keep checking in here.

Brassica sounds like a fab plan. Pork scratchings are a great pub snack/alternative to crisps. You could always have KFC but pick the batter off which I know defeats the object but at least you don't have to sit there watching everyone else eat it.

SummerSazz · 02/04/2019 07:03

I've had a terrible week and a half. Out almost every night and can't shake a cold I've had for 2 weeks (I realise the 2 may be connected Blush). So 6lb up for me which should be temporary but only if I reign it in right now.

Back onto the Pilates this morning and I'll walk later, walk and swim tomorrow. Back to IF for the rest of this week as that made a big difference last time.

Am off on holiday Friday and am taking running kit plus there's a pool. Slight problem is the friends I'm going with all love carbs and aren't the exercise type so I'll have to motivate myself or come on here and ask you lot for a kicking!! GrinGrin

Well done on continued losses for those who've not had a slip up and for the rest of us let's get back on it and through Easter holidays with fewer slip ups!!!

We will be lovely and slim when summer comes properly 💪💪💪

Doilooklikeatourist · 02/04/2019 08:51

Weighed in and I’ve put 3 lb on , so I’m back up to the 11s
All self inflicted , I’m cross with myself
It all started with a slice of toast , I thought just 1 piece of toast as I really fancied one , but it opened the floodgates and toast , cheese on toast , pizza and ice cream were eaten and enjoyed

I’ve drawn a line under it , and moving on

venusandmars · 02/04/2019 09:28

SummerSazz on your holiday plan, plan, plan. Before you go for a meal plan to eat olives instead of bread, plan a big bowl of sizzling garlic prawns with salad, plan chicken, fish, steak. If you really want carbs, can you delay eating them till the end of the meal so you're not so hungry.

venusandmars · 02/04/2019 09:29

Here's all the bread I didn't eat at dinner last night!

AthelstaneTheUnready · 02/04/2019 10:04

... but I do see traces of butter on that knife...? Grin

AthelstaneTheUnready · 02/04/2019 10:07

Well, my weight drift upwards after stopping smoking seems to have stopped. Topped out at 9st 7lbs - after reaching 8st 9lbs earlier in bootcamp!

Down a lb today, so hopefully normal service will be resuming. Goal is between 8st and 8st 7lbs, with the latter as an upper limit.

venusandmars · 02/04/2019 11:45

Athelstane Yes, I spread butter on my pate 😁 Here's the butter with a missing dod.

BrassicaBabe · 02/04/2019 12:38

Thinking of packing my scales to take them on holiday too Hmm

Athel amazing achievement stopping smoking!

venusandmars · 02/04/2019 15:37

I think the scales are a good idea. Might help to control things while you are there and avoids the big scary reveal when you get home.

1Wildheartsease · 02/04/2019 16:28

BrassicaBabe - great planning! Going on holiday is a bit of 'real life' -a good test for how good a 'moderator' you can be when not following a strict version of the plan?

Rshard · 02/04/2019 18:10

Very determined attitude @brassica!

So on Saturday I bought a hot cross bun loaf for dh....... and you can guess can’t you. It’s gone now and no more will be bought. I see a few of us have been leaping on and off the wagon.

Doilooklikeatourist · 02/04/2019 18:41

Putting my menu up so I can’t cheat
B cheese omlette
L pork scratchings
D pork loin with cabbage , shallot , mushrooms , courgettes a drop of tomato Passata and some cream
Loads of water
Needs more veg , will maybe have mushrooms for breakfast , or that nice muesli with some of the lower carb berries and Greek yoghurt

m0therofdragons · 02/04/2019 19:34

I think I'll go to bed early tonight - I want to gorge on cake. Luckily there isn't any in the house but I'm struggling. I'm over tired and totm is due. It's like one part of my brain says "I want to be skinny" while the other side is dreaming of a banquet Hmm

Siameasy · 02/04/2019 20:04

Maybe take a tape measure Brassica as scales are heavy!
Well done all KOKO-ing and resisting Easter chocolate everywhere
I really want an Easter egg
I keep staying the same weight so I like to measure.
Waist now nearing 29👍🏻
I do not understand bras tho. My rib cage is 34 but I’m wearing a 38. What a mess. Shrunken post BFing fried eggs inside the cups too and armpit fat😐

SummerSazz · 02/04/2019 23:04

Thanks @venusandmars - it will be the crisps and wine which scupper me!! However my holiday friends aren't big drinkers so I may try for an alcohol abstinence week (well majority lol). When I'm not drinking then the food is pretty easy I find......

I managed to not put on any weight when 2 weeks all inclusive as loads of low carb options so I know it can be done!

2 days back on 18;6 and so far so good. Pilates this morning and alarm set for 6 tomorrow.

Should really go to sleep now Hmm

SummerSazz · 02/04/2019 23:06

@Siameasy my boobs always go first and my face (which is already long and thin enough). So unfair!

Have you tried a 34? You may be surprised as to how comfy it actually is.

Dia12 · 03/04/2019 09:57

I lose boobs and face too! It's taken the whole of bc for my upper body to change shape and now I think it's working it's way down. I managed to wear some shoes with straps across ankles which were really tight originally and now are comfortable....but I still have cankles Sadive always had cankles though and have a sinking feeling losing weight won't help. Anyway, feet up, it seems to be working!!!

AthelstaneTheUnready · 03/04/2019 19:41

Boobs and belly first for me - arse and thighs a long way down the line - and hamster cheeks last of all.

A not v high fat day for me today - pate on pepper, baked salmon, broccoli and spinach with butter, creamy coffee.

I spent some money on ebay clothes yesterday, thinking I would celebrate when I reached my BC low by swishing about a bit. But now I just feel catastrophically guilty for buying clothes when there's so much needs doing in the house.

Jeez, I'm a grump. Just pretend I didn't drop in this evening, everyone Blush Grin

SummerSazz · 03/04/2019 21:11

@AthelstaneTheUnready you must have saved loads on the not smoking so the reward is some new clothes surely??

18:6 achieved again. Halloumi, mushroom and bacon salad with basil oil and steak with spinach and green beans with herb butter. What's not to like about low carb!

Pilates this morning, 15k steps and a swim so feeling back in the groove for now Smile

MrsKoala · 03/04/2019 21:38

Evening all. I've been mad busy with the usual fil chaos.

I made a lovely dinner the other night. It was a pork tenderloin (lidl often do it for £2 quid when it’s on its sell by date and I stock up the freezer). I rolled it in chopped rosemary, sage and garlic and lots of black pepper then browned it off in butter in a large/deep frying pan. Put in the oven on a baking tray for 15-20 mins (not to long as it can dry out easily). In the frying pan cook shallots and mushrooms in more butter then add a large glug of white wine. Then add cream and season generously with salt and pepper (I also added some baby spinach here too but I don’t think it was essential). Let the pork rest for a few mins and then slice into medallions and pour over the sauce. It really was divine.

Did my first exercise today for over 3 years. It was a brutal spin class. It felt great but I am already aching.

My weight loss goes off face and boobs first too. Face is good as it can be very round but boobs is not good as I am already very small. I looked at myself in the gym mirror today and there was barely a bump now. Stomach is also very flat but bingo wings and mammoth thighs and arse is still there.

I like the holiday plan Brassica. I am already thinking of my holiday plan so i’ll be interested to hear how yours goes. I’m going to Greece which is good as that’s not too carby (I don’t think I could attempt Italy!). I think it’ll be 10 days of Greek salad, olives, meat, fish, tzatziki and retsina. I can live with that Grin

Siameasy · 03/04/2019 21:40

Summer I’m defo going to try a 36B or a 34C.
I agree about face it’s a fine line, we can start to look witchy 🙈oh oh
Dia I think cankles or not is genetic but could be a bit of water retention? Great about the shoes, I do love an ankle strap.
NSV I did five “half pull ups” at the gym. As in I got halfway there five times!!

I am really missing chocolate at the moment because it is bloody everywhere. But I’m not sure it’s a good idea to have it. Shall I ride out Easter and hopefully I won’t be thinking of it so much.

Oh enjoy your clothes Athelstane Grinwhat were they?

Siameasy · 03/04/2019 21:43

Ooh Greece Mrs K it will be delicious and perfect for the diet. Mainland or islands?

Aching is good as it means it’s working. I’ve just upped my game to heavier weights and boy do I feel old. This had bloody better work

MrsKoala · 03/04/2019 22:04

We're going to corfu. I love the Greek Islands so much. They are my dream destination. I know everyone going tropical. But for me you just can't beat the med and those little white houses with blue doors and eating seafood overlooking a harbour.

I think once you are over 40 if your face gets too thin it can really age you. I always follow Barbara Cartlands advice in everything
