Morning all Flowers

As ever, here's the spreadsheet - making its penultimate appearance

Just this last week before we have our final weigh-in next Monday, so hopefully we can make this a good last few days.

@MrsKoala , I see , yep , nightmare

Rshard · 19/03/2019 20:31

Hey @doilooklikeatourist! You’re shopping trip sounds successful. Weirdly we have the same bra size . I’ve had another good day, I’m glad that you have too.

Flowers @mrskoala and @summersazz

Anyone watching save money lose weight on itv with doctor Ranj?

The keto diet came out top. The lady lost almost 3st in 28 days.

tootstastic · 19/03/2019 22:27

Aww love you too @Hefzi! And it sounds like you're ON IT too, well done you!

It's great hearing about all the smaller clothes successes. I'm literally obsessed with clothes atm, I keep trying them on and getting so excited when something that's been too tight to wear now fits beautifully.

It's really quite shocking how many inches I must have lost. Why the hell didn't I measure at the beginning back in October when you told us too @BIWI?! I so wish I had now.

venusandmars · 19/03/2019 22:30

Mrs Koala I just saw the last portion of it, but was glad to see keto doing better than 'shakes as a meal replacement'. I really hope it was a healthy keto with lots of veg, rather than an egg, bacon and cream keto?

BIWI · 19/03/2019 23:05

@tootstastic. I know! No-one listens. I'm going to take up herding cats instead.

We're in the final week of boot camp and my thoughts are with 'maintenance' - at least until the next BC.

I'm carrying on for an extra week, but then will focus on keeping to a stable weight, way of eating / living, and a stable blood pressure.

When I did this last year, in maintenance I ate 6 days as low carb, high fat and the other day had some plant based carbs - small amounts of lentils, beans, brown rice etc. On the higher carb day I ate much less fat, so it might be salmon and puy lentils with spinach and tomatoes, but no butter, cream etc. For me having one day of slightly higher carb gave me flexibility to eat out, and to enjoy favourite recipes at home.

It also made me conscious of 'carb creep'. I had to make a choice between carb and fat (not talking cream and jam donuts here) so I'd look at mashed potatoes and know I had a choice....

However, ignoring the principles of this woe resulted in 6lb gain in 6 weeks....

Interested to know how others have 'maintained' between other bootcamps….

m0therofdragons · 19/03/2019 23:34

I tried on my 2 goal dresses. They are still snug but another half a stone and they'll look fab so I'm planning to keep going then carry on this woe without logging everything. My planning keeps me feeling in control but I will carry on avoiding carbs with the occasional slice of whole meal bread for toast.

Rice and pasta don't even taste of anything!

I'm hoping that by Easter I'll be in those dresses.

MrsFionaCharming · 19/03/2019 23:47

I fell off the wagon tonight, and ate 2 slices of bread whilst at a friends house.

I’m now massively bloated, I look several months pregnant! I don’t think this has ever happened before, but possibly it was just better camouflaged under the extra 2 stone of fat.

Possibly my body has just forgotten how to deal with processed carbs?

Rshard · 20/03/2019 06:52

I’m also carrying on with this woe until the next boot camp @venusandmars.

SummerSazz · 20/03/2019 07:02

Thanks for all the sympathy yesterday. Was just grumpy 😁.

Last week the IF really worked for me (well until I wine sabotaged!) but feels hard not to have breakfast as I'm feeling rubbish. But given I can't even taste it then it's not really going to make me feel like I've had something nice Confused. I shall try to just have tea and some food about 11.

I'm going to continue with this woe until I get to my goal (another 1/2 stone). I put weight on so easily that my maintenance diet has to look very similar tbh with a day or so a month when I might 'fall off'.

Doilooklikeatourist · 20/03/2019 07:15

@venusandmars , I seem to have maintained this Bootcamp and not lost much at all

@mOther , you’re right , rice and pasta are just fillers , no taste there at all
I don’t miss potatoes either , just really want bread ( on Saturday all I wanted was a fruit scone ) I’m going to have to work bread back in my diet , but use it as a treat , not an everyday snack

@summer , all I want is half a stone off too , the first half stone was so easy , the last one is a different matter !
Note to self , keep off the wine ( my sabotage too )

@mrsKoala, I’ve got that diet programme on planner , will give it a watch later

Rshard · 20/03/2019 07:56

The last half stone is always the most stubborn!

Hope you have another good day @doilooklikeatourist. I’m going to a meeting in another city which is over lunch time but I will treat myself to lunch from Leon at New Street station and scoff it on the train home!

Hope everyone else has a good day

Siameasy · 20/03/2019 09:17

I’m just going to carry on business as usual venus. I may have a carb on my birthday (mid April) but I’m not really missing the forbidden foods apart from the aforementioned poppadums

I was 9.12 on the Boditrax machine at the gym today. I’ve lost lb of fat but also lb of muscle so I’m going to focus on the muscle side of things. I don’t do chronic cardio so I’m not sure what it is

KiteMarked · 20/03/2019 09:27

I'm definitely planning to KOKO. There's no way I want to go back to being a slave to sugar again - I hate it. With Mother's Day and my own birthday coming up in quick succession, I will make sure I stay away from sugar and processed junk as a way to "treat" myself. It isn't a treat! It's toxic to my body!

I'll be back for the next bootcamp as well, but maybe with a better set of scales.

chocolateavocado99 · 20/03/2019 13:01

I will also try to continue this WOE until the next one.
I am going on a 2 week beach holiday in April, so will probably have wine, but maybe not. I felt really crappy the next day the last 2 times I drank.

LazydaysofSummer · 20/03/2019 13:06

I'm hoping with adding in the 16:8 I can drop a couple more pounds this week which would mean I'm a stone lighter than ten weeks ago.
At times it felt really slow going watching the scales hover around the same place day in day out, but looking at the bigger picture, as @BIWI has always advocated the overall trend has been a slow and steady drop. Which if I can get another 2lb off would actually mean I've lost almost 10% of my starting weight, which is amazing.

There's no way I would have done this without this bootcamp, so thank you all for the support, encouragement and motivation.
I will be KOKO after bootcamp as it's really a no-brainer!

MrsKoala · 20/03/2019 14:46

I am going to carry on this WOE too. My friends wedding has been put back to August so i'm definitely koko till then.

I think it was Slinky who asked me to report back about the bread recipe on the last thread. (sorry to reply so late - life got in the way!) It was quite nice really. Not like bread, more like a savoury cake texture. It worked well with thick cream cheese and cucumber and was very nice fried in bacon fat with bacon and avocado served on top. Hard cheese didn't work so well as the textures was soft and very rich. I am going to continue experimenting but i'd say possibly add more rosemary to the recipe. A word of warning - it makes me fart! Which I wouldn't normally notice but as I have ceased to do it it's a notable occasion Grin . Not loads, just 20-30 mins after I eat it I bloat a little and fart a couple of times. So if you are prone to bloating and wind it may not be for you.

Siameasy · 20/03/2019 14:58

What happens normally, do people carry on chatting here until the next BC?

ShagMeRiggins · 20/03/2019 15:48

Yeah, pretty much. Or BIWI or someone else starts a new support thread. They’re not as fast-moving. Not sure if that’s because so many people ease off on LCHF or what, but there will always be a few dedicated followers keeping things moving.

By the way, I’m a pound down last week, just haven’t had a chance to post it.

tootstastic · 20/03/2019 16:01

Great to see so many will be carrying on when BC finished. It'll be business as usual for me too...I have so much to lose, I daren't take my eye off the ball.

SlinkyDinkyDoo · 20/03/2019 16:51

Yes it was me MrsK thank you. I am now imagining it with a poached egg and roasted tomatoes and asapargus for a lazy brunch.

Siameasy · 20/03/2019 17:38

Well done on your lb Shag.
I will be business as usual toots.

Rant: Anyone else here an apple shape? I was trying stuff on earlier. Of course I scrutinised myself in the changing room mirror. My legs bum hips and arms I’m 100% chuffed with but why oh why am I so thick waisted. I look so boxy because whenever I lose weight it falls off my hips but sticks to my middle. Vile. I mean who puts weight on around their waist Fgs

There isn’t anything else I can give up as I refuse to give up cheese (I gave up cream)

Rant over

tootstastic · 20/03/2019 19:20

Welcome aboard to the BAU club @Siameasy.

I'm with you on the body shape thing, weight never seems to come off where you want it to, does it? For me, it's my bingo wings and muffin top. I look in the mirrored wall during yoga and compare my fat arms and hips to everyone else's lovely slender limbs. Hey, are you in my class? Wink

1Wildheartsease · 20/03/2019 19:21

Another apple here too Siameasy. The weight must go from there eventually - I hope.

Thanks for the reminder about the 'bread'. I'll be using that at the weekend.

I am a long-termer too and will be here for the continuing thread. LC works where nothing else seems to.
