We're in the final week of boot camp and my thoughts are with 'maintenance' - at least until the next BC.
I'm carrying on for an extra week, but then will focus on keeping to a stable weight, way of eating / living, and a stable blood pressure.
When I did this last year, in maintenance I ate 6 days as low carb, high fat and the other day had some plant based carbs - small amounts of lentils, beans, brown rice etc. On the higher carb day I ate much less fat, so it might be salmon and puy lentils with spinach and tomatoes, but no butter, cream etc. For me having one day of slightly higher carb gave me flexibility to eat out, and to enjoy favourite recipes at home.
It also made me conscious of 'carb creep'. I had to make a choice between carb and fat (not talking cream and jam donuts here) so I'd look at mashed potatoes and know I had a choice....
However, ignoring the principles of this woe resulted in 6lb gain in 6 weeks....
Interested to know how others have 'maintained' between other bootcamps….
