@tootstastic - well done! and fingers crossed (and tempting carbs ignored) for next week, and your 4 stone achievement.
@japonicaflower2 I don't 'exercise' (I hate getting hot / sweaty / out of breath) but I have been doing 10,000 steps daily, and some slow yoga. I'm a strolling sloth with short legs, so for me to do 10,000 steps takes about 1.5hrs per day (or maybe 1 hour 20 minutes). It doesn't have to be completed in one long burst, if you could walk for 30 minutes in the morning, 30 minutes in the middle of the day, and 20 minutes in the evening you'd have done it. And of course you could set yourself a lower limit.
I don't think those steps contribute to me losing weight but they get my body outside and moving a bit, and I'm certain it's good for my mental health - I notice spring arriving in tiny ways, I appreciate arriving back home to a warm house after a cold wet walk... etc. And I feel like I'm doing something.
Sometimes it is a real challenge. On a rainy blustery day it is so much more tempting to jump in the car and drive to the shops, and on a hot summer's day it can feel like too much effort. I try to incorporate my walks into something that is either pleasurable or necessary: so a walk to the swimming pool for a leisurely swim / hot-tub / steam room (I only count the steps to get there, nothing from the swim, which means it can be a truly lovely leisurely time), or a walk to the shops - and having to carry my shopping home in a bag-pack means that I am much less likely to buy anything extra - especially heavy items like potatoes or bottles of wine.
Your health consultants will be able to explain to you about limiting water intake and fats, but I know that my MIL was on diuretics and statins, and given the same advice. Under medical supervision she gradually changed all off that and is now eating and drinking in a more balanced way.
Unfortunately, there are many medications (including those for sever mental health issues) where the side effects include substantial weight gain
Sometimes, out lives are a balance between physical, mental, emotional health, and it doesn't always equal out very easily. I really hope you have a lot of love and support around you.
